Why was Pakistan formed? What role did the Muslim League play in this process? What were the Ulama saying? Was the demand for Pakistan a pan-India movement, or it was an elitist imposition of a few Anglicised Muslims over the larger Muslim population of British India? What author completely ignore is once Medina was created mohammad was able to conquer macca . And that is the reason of indian muslim population is still in the clutches of ulema .

That doesn't hold with fanatics. The tragic attack on Salman Rushdie wasn't even sufficiently condemned by the government of the day, and you should hear Shashi Tharoor's stand on the need for the government to actually ban books like The Satanic Verses in public interest as articulated on his interview with Barkha Dutt a few days ago. High ideals - Tough times.
