Could use some help, as my FCPX ain't playing right. When adding in a logo over a video and applying an image mask to the logo with the same logo, the result is that the masking logo is waaaaaay to big and doesn't mask the original logo. Any solution for this? I'm at wits end. Googled everything and re-installed FCPX multiple times. Am on FCPX 10.5.2.
If you are using a 4K graphic (or larger) in an HD timeline the logo will be scaled but the image mask will not. You need to go back to your graphics app and make sure the image mask and the image you using are the same resolution
@@rippleguys Awesome! I’ll have a play around with the graphics. I didn’t think of checking this at all. Thank you! Your assistance is much appreciated. :) Love the channel, as it always has great advice and tips.
@@rippleguys I checked my project, it is in 1080p. I shrunk the logo to 1800x400 pixels to be under the size of HD. I'm using the logo as the image mask itself and the mask is still way to stretched out. Don't know what else to do. I've already reset everything in FCPX and re-installed FCPX to see if there is an issue there, but that hasn't helped. Any further guidance would be appreciated.
The way Final Cut utilises image masks is so unbelievably unwieldy. I have no idea why they don't use the same way Motion uses them. It's so much easier and more intuitive.
