I put some forget me nots in my pond, which look lovely when flowering. The newts also like them as they lay their eggs between the leaves.Nice job by the way.

Fantastic video Simon and what an excellent project that's paid off very well. Looks amazing and to have it in your own garden is even more better. Great to see you again doing more video's. Proper job! 👍

Great pond. Takes two years for frogs to develop and spawn. It’ll be great to see it develop further. Hope to see further updates.

Good job on the pond update.Looks fantastic. That bit that you say is a bit lower - just build it up with a bit more dirt/stone under the overlap if you can or plant a few plants that like boggy conditions like a Gunnera Manicarta. It gets big but will look awesome as you have a big pond. The stone is a good idea as it also provides lots of crevices for amphibians to hide in. A few sedges & grasses will add structure & cover.I have Pendulous Sedge (Carex pendula) in my pond which the frogs like to hide in & dragonflies use as perches. They get quite big so don’t have too many. The water beetles & pond skaters can fly to your pond. If you have a look on the underside of the water lily leaves there should be some jelly like cylinders which are water snail eggs. Snails help keep the water clear as they eat algae & dead matter. Sounds like you have plenty of sparrows enjoying the garden too! All the best.

Thanks Country Boy...useful advice once again! Love grasses so will be putting more in. I have a golden sedge in the pond so hoping that will bulk out in time.Never knew water beetles could fly...learn something every day! Thanks for commenting

Lovely pond, mate. really nice job. Great to hear you talk about the wildlife. I was amazed too, I have built two (much much smaller ponds) and in less than 3 weeks I already had frogs. Brilliant to see now a year later I have loads of small damselfly and dragonfly nymphs that have hatched and looking good. All the best.

nice one mate.i am certainly no pond expert but i think not cementing the stone in position was a wise move.more crevices for wildlife, looks more natural & gives you the option to move stone if need be. you spent the money in the right place with the heavy duty liner.sit back & enjoy.good to see you back.

What are those very very small green leaves called they are floating in cluster on the surface of the pond. Are they part of a bigger plant?
