I've been trying to come up with ideas for content I can generate for this channel and thought "why not just do what composers do, compose!". I plan to use this channel as a sort of metric of progress, displaying my growth as a musician/composer as well as a fun way to interact with other people who enjoy making/listening to music.

Definitely huge Masashi Hamauzu vibes. This was absolute amazing and inspiring to see! It's very cool that you incorporate recordings of your own instruments into the piece. That breathes extra life into it. Love your quirkiness, too :~3 You're absolutely amazing~ Looking forward to watching the next part and, hopefully, there's more to come!

Do you ever struggle to conceptualize without putting things down in sheet music form? I really want to produce more big epic pieces like this, but it's so time consuming for me because I start with composing and arranging via sheet music and then record individual parts based on that and put it all together.

It can definitely take me a while to finish a piece of music. However, once I get into a flow it gets easier. It also helps to have a good idea of what I want before starting the composing process, as well as having a template with everything I need. I would probably be a lot slower writing sheet music first though. Maybe you could consider some workflow tools like Divisimate? That may help you work in the DAW faster. It's a bit expensive though.

Great video! Live composing is such a nice way to study and learn. Also not familiar with these composers, so this was inspiring for me as well!

Thanks! You should definitely check out some of their music, especially Yoshihisa. His orchestration skills are top-notch.

Fam this is soooo good!! Can't wait to watch your part 2. Are you studying this at university of self taught? I'd love to chat more with you about composing music for media. Is there a way I can reach you?
