Creating kitchen cabinets with fusion 360. Part 1 - Parameters.

In this long winded series I'll be using Fusion 360 to create an entire kitchen, from designs to install. In part one we go over entering all the parameters we might need to create a single cabinet that can be adjusted to make a whole kitchen from one cabinet.

It's great to see a video on F360 and making kitchen cabinets, and you really make it easy to understand, thank you.

Probably the best explanation of this software used for people who don't want to pay for an expensive cabinet software. Awesome!

I never comment on YT videos because I find these comments to be a big giant rugby scrum. But damn, man. This is exactly what I was looking for. I've sat through dozens of videos on Fusion 360 teaching me how to model all these esoteric machine parts when what I need is cabinet components. After years of doing cabinet design in Sketchup, I'm super stoked about parametric modeling. Great video.

These videos are amazing! I was excited to see your parametric modeling for face frames (which I almost always use) and would love to see a video on adding them.

By far the best fusion 360 tutorial I've found. Thank you for explaining what you are doing and why you are doing it that way. This helps a ton.

This is great! More people need to know about Parameters. I am a big fan. Helps with ordering material.

Perfect video to learn Fusion 360 for cabinets. Easy to follow, good explanations and makes sense to some one trying to learn Fusion 360.

Not long winded at all, its just right. Good speed, good level of explanation. I also like that you get right into it and don't waste time, ala "don't forget to subscribe and check out my other videos and blah blah blah...." Good stuff!

Thanks so much for this! This was exactly what I was looking for. This video reinforces my belief that paying $20k a year for a "specialized" cabinet software is ridiculous. Much appreciated.

Right like microvellum and hexagon's cabinet vision. It's insane. Plus it's a nightmare managing serials, dongle keys, updates and compatibility. Also I don't know what it is with engineering software, but the developers usually have no front-end or visual design skills so the softwares are usually very ugly and clunky. Much better to just pay the $42 a month and use the original Autodesk's packages because there's no managing of all these weird keys and serials and updates.

Great video! This is a well done parametric model. I used CREO at work for years, and this was by far the most helpful video with learning how to transition from CREO's "Family Tables" and material library to what Fusion calls the "Parameters".

I found a really helpful add-in on fusion 360 app store. its called "Size to Parts List" this app automatically updates the description of components based on its bounding box. I make parametric designs for cabinets and this app is a life saver for cut lists. I hope this helps someone!

Great tutorial, if I was to make something like this but out of MFC, how would I tackle edging? would the best way be to add the edging as a parameter and minus extrude it on every edge...? could be time consuming just wondering if there was a faster way.

Thank's because I was offered a good job doing this for a cabinet shop, but they use some weird obscure software and it's a nightmare to setup on different workstations because the archaic key & dongles and all that. I was told as long as I can get them put together and get a cutlist, it would be good. They said they don't care what software I use as long as they can do it. Cabinet Vision, I think it iwhat the software is.

Is there a trick to printing out the Parametric Parameters table?
@michaeltaylor5249

Sure would be nice if you new how to spell when setting up your parmeters
@TLARinc

Hey if you know what it means, that's all that matters. Your can also fix or change the name of the parameter at any time. Anything using that parameter will also update.
