8 years after your posting, it still worked....I needed the return label tutorial and it was perfect....thank you for saving me until 2024 to figure it out.
Wow! After searching for two hours and trying everything else, I finally found this video and... it worked! The only suggestion I have is that after importing the contacts into the new group, you have to print using the correct label program, but not everyone has Avery or other common brands. So I had to search "Maco-3000 (my particular labels) conversion to Avery", and that completed the process for me. Thanks again!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO. My daughter wrote over my mailing contacts a couple years back. I had no clue how to access and use my contacts for labels. I did not send Cards last year because I could not deal with it. Thanks to this video my Christmas cards will be sent this year!
The same bugs with creating Lists seems to exist (had to reenter 3 times to get it to change to new list name). Was able to create the Return labels I was needing. Shocked there isn't a template in Pages or something to make this easier. Thanks very much!

For making mass quantities of return labels, make as many copies of your address as will fit on one page using the label size you selected. For 8160, this would be 30. Then just print that group as many times as needed using the "Copies" field in the print dialog.

I wish Apple would allow us to create custom fields, and setup the label. For example your Bart Simpson you may want to print the label as "Mr and Mrs B. Simpson". The only workaround I found is to make the groups like you mentioned, then actually go in and edit the listing for each, print off the labels, then go back in and edit them back to how they were before. It's a pain...I really wish Apple would update this
That was a fantastic tutorial. I'm seriously embracing my Mac these days. By that I mean that I was using Microsoft office suite on my mac book pro, but I have since purchased an iMac and decided not to deal with Microsoft ever again. That means no Outlook. So this is great. I love your channel. Keep up the good work.
I've spent hours trying to dump data from a PC format to csv to Excel to Numbers, to only be unsuccessful at printing any labels. My office does it but screws it up. Time should have been spent copying my data base into a new Contacts group. I'm going to try it now. Thank you so much. Avery doesn't give any advice.
Hi David, Your video for printing mail labels on Mac worked perfect. One additional question though.... I am only printing about 15 labels for my customers and then the rest of the Avery 8160 sheet is left blank. How do I start a print job starting with the 16th label on the page so half the sheet of labels is not wasted? Thanks

This worked great except for the fact that my printer starts printing .50 so the labels all end with 1 printed line on the previous label I can't find a way to alter the inches. they look correct when I check each one. It is just that they start at last line of beginning label.
Hi David, I'm new to Mac and just wondering if I can place a label on the label sheet in a specific spot, say 1st row 3rd label down? It seems that Mac always wants to put the label on the first label at the top. I'm using Avery 5260, so three rows of 10. Not sure how to customize these labels. short of peeling off a label and sticking it back on the top left, I can't see a fix for this. Any help is appreciated. How do I go about changing the font size other than increasing the font size in my Contacts either in bulk or for individual contacts? This would be especially useful for shipping labels where I would like a larger font size of say, 18 to 24 points.
What about adding an image to you return labels. I could do this in Microsoft on my Dell but now I don't have access to any of the Microsoft softwares. Is it possible to add and image?
When I get all the repeat labels highlighted for return labels -- the message on the side shows 30 cards selected but when I press print the window comes up saying no addresses highlighted. Can someone help me?

I printed all my 100 Christmas List like this, but had to change every address to Famiy or Mr & Mrs, now when that person calls or text me that is the name that appears, is there a way to change this without going in & editing all again?
What about a label for Mr and Mrs Bart Simpson? It's a pain in the tookus to relabel everything when you have a separate contact for Bart and Madge (phonewise), and then have to redo everything at Xmas.
I think the classes are great , except for the fact that the example pages are always out of focus , or fuzzy . That really gets is the way of my learning - can't it be changed?
Did you ever figure it out? Trying to figure that out now.... thinking of looking into another program that will also let me add an image as my return into is on an image that I now basically print once with the image, and print the labels another time, but I want them to be centered!
How to print Labels on Mac Pc. I hav Avery 8160 Like to make a variety of address Labels .Maybe a column my address , column several different address. Sorry, David, but this technique is useless for any mailing application that I can imagine. Apple does not allow a Mr & Mrs Bloggs field, does not allow me to create my own field, and does not allow me to choose what fields go on th elabel. It does not even allow me to export the data to a speardsheet so that I can devise my own labelling system. In short, there is NO way to produce useable mailing labels on the Mac using only what comes with the Mac. Is there even a way to do it using Contacts along with another app? That I must now investigate ...
