This isn't anything I'm an expert on, this video was more of an investigation into techniques that could be used if you don't have access to an embroidery machine.
This was really helpful thank you. I don't have an embroidery machine and honestly didn't think such a device was of this world. I live too much under a rock. I definitely would look into purchasing one in the future
It makes me very happy to see the very same big brain moment I had when I first started learning to use my sewing machine in a legitimate tutorial vid c:
Im new at sewing in general especially with plushies and button eyes creep me out and dont look propper for anime plushies so this was a great help thank u so much. But do we half to add the minky under the eye or is that something u just did so u could make the black circle all around the outside of the eye?
You don't have to have minky under the eye. I was mostly just playing around and testing how different things worked and I used what I had on hand. I don't actually use any of these techniques personally as I have an embroidery machine, so feel free to do what you think will look best :)
Can I make this with other materials without a machine? I'm trying to make a cat plushie for halloween, but we can't really afford any machines or anybody that can make it for us. Can you do a tutorial on how to make a cat plushie with hand sewing? Also I can't buy felt because where i am they don't have white felt.
It should be one of the standard stitches on your machine, you just need to select the stitch, then adjust the width and length to the desired size, and your machine should be good to go. If you need any more help, a simple google search should help :)
I used cut-away stabiliser on the bottom, and water soluble stabiliser on top. it's really hard not to get deformation of the fabric unfortunately. You could also try iron on stabiliser, it might help, though I haven't tried it myself.
Mine was just a cheaper machine though, pretty much any sewing machine will do the stuff in the video if it can do a wide short zig zag. So just go with what you think is good :)
The face is minky, they also use cut away stabilizer for under the fabric and water soluble on to. The eye itself is felt , and they sew with just thread possibly cotton
No offence but I think Snuggle Factory means making a plush is without a specific machine. As the the title states: Creating Plush Detail Without an Embroidery Machine. I don’t know if they have changed the title of the video since the last time you watched this video or not. Have a great day.
