This looks like a really cool way to introduce younger, and even some older people not only into the programming world but also into the game developer world. Also, this video was pretty easy to follow along with, so I'm definitely gonna keep tabs on this channel.
I feel like UEFN is definitely a portal for UE and Fortnite creators, while fortnite creators will be able to take baby steps and learn more about unreal engine, eventually learning how to use the engine separate from fortnite, UE developers have a platform to share their experience and knowledge, and I'm sure at least some might wanna give UEFN a try, the tutorial is amazing btw, subscribed and I look forward to watching more of your content!
@@RJ_10_10 From personal experience, do not try to learn multiple things at once. Pick a couple things, like Unreal and Blender and stick to it for a bit. Once you get comfortable then start learning new things. Verse is still very new so there is plenty of time to learn it.
@@JohnDoe-pu5zd The mesh would have to have the wall/bumper added to it already. So you would most likely have the create a mesh in blender if there isnt one already with it.
@@JohnDoe-pu5zd Or just make a new layer with a new spline and use that for the borders and put it next to the roads. I may be wrong but that is how i'm thinking it would work.
@@stelkai yeah that makes sense. Aesthetically it would be nice if it followed the road perfectly. Modeling will be another challenge down the road. Followed this video and made a cool little track. Thank you!
Since you can create and import your own models and animate it. Is it possible to code logic to a custom AI enemy/Pet? Also can you manipulate the player? Ex: give it a new animation or ability if you press (x) key.
Yup absolutely. I believe this is even possible without code and just with devices already in creative. The input from (x) will trigger an animation and can be ai talking to you. And with code you can make an AI dialogue system.
@@stelkai @Jacklets.4D Let me rephrase that actually, could you recreate a GTA 5 pedestrian with a fn model for example it walks around, can be killed, and do other minor interactions like looking at the player if they walk closely? My idea was if I was ever able to use uefn I would create a MHA fan game , I wanted to be able to give the people who would have played my fan game a new animation whenever they used their quirk (quirk = special ability). Is it even possible to give the fortnite character you play as new animations yet? because I haven't seen anyone do it so far.
The fortnite character would have to be a completely new 3D model with the animations imported. Having that AI system is a lot easier said than done. I am not sure how powerful Verse (UEFN's coding language) is but I am sure with some coding it can be possible.
Yup! I got many plans for the future of this channel. Going to be taking it slow since I have other projects to work on and need to balance everything.
I would love to learn more about UEFN if u were down to teach things I want to be able to make a realistic endgame map with custom made POIs I would love to make Fortnite map building a career if possible.
A career in Fortnite map building is totally possible. This is just the beginning. We will be able to make AAA games in fortnite within the upcoming years. I will upload more videos soon on custom meshes from blender and adding realistic material to them 👍
@@stelkai awesome I would love to spectate you doing some work in discord screen share or something sometime what type of maps or things do u specialize in unreal engine
can you help me with something so thge paint in uefn only has tree mats followers, gravel and grass but there no dirt or sand like there should be how do I fix this
Not as of right now. Cannot add working custom guns. You can still add them as props. Custom weapons is something that would most likely be added this year.
Have not looked into that as much but i’m sure it’s just painting said biome materials onto your landscape. I will look more into it tomorrow and maybe make a video on it.
Are you able to help me please I was doing the roads but I've pushed something and now on the right I don't have the options to put the center line in or adjust the height of the road 😢 I can see everything else I've placed but not the road stuff.
Best bet is to just restart. If you ever mess something up to the point of no return just restart. It'll help with getting familiar with the controls anyway.
@@stelkai I restarted the program made no difference. I think I restarted the road to but option was still gone. Is there a tab I'm suppose to turn back on or something. Please help.
Yes. Fortnite provides several intersection meshes, like the T-split mesh for example under Environments->Landscape->Spline Meshes. 1. In your map, select the Control Point you want the T mesh to be in. 2. Under the details panel, go to Landscape Spline Meshes. And click the Plus sign to add a new mesh slot. 3. Open the new item, click the small arrow to open the item up. First property you will see is a the Mesh prop. 4. Click on the drop down and select the T Mesh, just search road, and you will see all of them. Add the Road T Section mesh. 5. Now with the Control Point selected, click either the left, right or bottom side of the T Section Mesh point, and you should see the road magically show up connected to the new intersection. Hope this helps, there is a decent in-depth video on this very thing, search in RU-vid for uefn splines roads
Can you make a video talking about importing custom assets and animating them? When I import the assets they are always plain white. And I can figure out the animation stuff for the life of me lol 😂thanks
Is your device running on some sort of performance mode? Helped someone with that same problem and it was that their device was not as powerful to run UEFN.
Ok so first you place the vehicle spawner down. Then under user options check "Fuel Consumption" then uncheck random starting fuel and right under u can change the starting fuel.
@@stelkai also.. I have another question! Do you know how to change the time of day? Like I can change it in the editor but in the game preview it doesn’t change to what the time of day is in the editor.
