New or rather - Google Sites is an amazingly simple tool to allow Teachers AND Students to create in class. Projects, Portfolios, Lab Reports, anything can be turned into a Web Site and with the ease of New Google Sites it's too easy and powerful to keep ignoring. This tutorial will walk you through the basics of creating a Google Site and at the end I show you an example of a student e-Portfolio (link below to the same sample). With the click-and-drag interface and complete integration into Google Drive, this would be a staple in my classroom instructional plans!

How do you bring a placeholder's file to the foreground when there's a background image covering it? Am referring specifically to Google Sites' portfolio homepage template. Thank you for any help you can provide.

Mr Lee, when students open a Google doc that you have embedded from Drive does each student have their own copy to edit? thanks

If you post an image of the Google Doc and then link it to the Doc link, you can erase back to the first / and type the word copy (/copy), it will create a forced copy for anyone who clicks on it. Otherwise, you can post a Google file as "view only" and teach kids how to go to File...Make a copy. Only Google Classroom makes a copy for each student.

I have in the past. We moved to STEM Premier briefly, and then we were going to use Naviance. It would be nice to do something district-wide where students can put all of their best work in one place to showcase. It has slowly been squeezed out of my class due to the other classroom activities, but I'd love to incorporate it again.
