In this art tutorial, I delve into the world of mixed media journaling, using the Dina Wakley Media Journal as my canvas. With a focus on experimentation, I explore various techniques to create a dynamic layout on the watercolor pages, complementing existing elements with a carefully crafted flap. Utilizing Blick Matte Acrylics and a stencil from Stencil Girl, I weave together shades of blues, greens, and graphite to add depth and texture to the composition.

Like the page. My idea would have been to stop after the leaves and stems. Then I would put a teal Swarovski crystal in each leaf. That's just me I love sparkle. Love the video. Have agreat week girl. Can't wait for the next video.😊

Amazing page. The leaf pattern and flowers work so great. I thought I could suggest adding red and gold (on top of the graphite) to incorporate the previous page on top of the flowers. And then add some drawn stems and leaves with graphite pencil.

I’m so glad you didn’t get discouraged by the first pages, which I happen to like (the water color through the stencil is such a cool idea), because it’s so much fun to see what you will come up with next. Love it Denise ❤. As soon as you started adding the little flowers my brain thought ooohhh add just one red flower. One pop of color to go with the little lines of color you added. And I so appreciate your guidance on art supp!ies, I've grown quite the collection in one year, now I have a little.corner studio in my living room (coz I was taking over the sofa and coffee table all the time!) Oooo just thought id add, i was watching Robyn Mclendons channel, who is big on gelli plate printing and making her own recycled books and i thought maybe thats the go, i made a small one from all sorts of recycled and packagi g papers, and now im think...hmm, making i should make an A3 sized gessoed hessioned and mixed paper version?..it was actuallt really easy to make (my smaller one) and has been great to paint and glue art into. Mite be worth a mention to peeps to make their own special Denise Stylie book?!!😂 Thank u again!

L❤VE! I need to get some matte acrylics since I’m playing more with acrylic paint and those scrapers! I do have a question for you. Do you wash those yellow cloths any special way? Mine have acrylic smears on them and I wanted to ask you first before I just throw them in the washer with the regular detergent.

I just throw them in the washer by themselves with regular detergent. It gets the pastels out, most of the watercolor stuff, doesn’t get out acrylic paint though. Still - I wash them and keep using them. 😊
