Man, you channel is going to cost me money. It's 4am here in Shanghai and I am about to go out to start record stuff on the streets with my Tascam, to see what sounds I can get for my music. Love your channel and I'll definitely be getting into taking this more seriously and buying more gear.
Really nice CNN piece, great to see you both getting a wider, broader audience for your wonderful work. Have fabulous, fun adventures travelling and recording and keep keeping your hearts and our ears happy.🎙🎤🎧🌻💖
I discovered your story from CNN Travel article and I am so pleased that I did. I look forward to watching more of your videos. Congratulations and I hope many more people will discover your fascinating channel. Keep up the great work and wish you continued success.
I saw on of your videos two days ago. Imediatly subscrubed. At the video you were recording the ship bridge so happy... i loved that atmosfere. I bought an zoom h5 more than 4 years ago...used once to record biirds nature on sun rise. Your atitude at the ship bridge rememerd me that sunrise. last days I thought I could record as I draw. To my self first. And magicaly found your happiness at this field. I ordered Korg and and adapter to h5! Just at the end of this video. Even my words not exactly organized I know you understand my feeling of happiness to find someone that do what loves, the way he likes!
Always enjoy your videos and learn something new! Your reviews have helped me build my gear kit. Thanks for sharing and best of luck in your hunt for new sounds. Wonderful CNN article.
That is a great mini kit. I also like to travel light, so my little videos have been MOS. This little kit, and my zoom might be a solution to add a good quality sound to my little projects. Thanks for the information!
Wooo hoo. You're back finally ! Great little kit. I always love small setups, so this would be perfect for me. Many years ago I sold all my DSLR and lenses because the backpack felt like I was carrying around a grown man on my back. I will probably buy an F3 sometime and also a hydrophone. I already got the Geofon and a set of Usi's, so I'm on my way. I also agree about the Roland Binaurals. I've been very disappointed with them, so I never even try to use them anymore. It's so hard to get a clean recording without cable noise or weird feedback.
Hello Hello Hello I was getting worried that something happened since you had such a long breake. So glad to see that you are back. I'm learning so much from you and just last week had finally a chance to record an air show. Thanks for being back
Congrats on the CNN coverage! I've been working in podcast production and audio for years but recently started getting into field recording. Started watching your videos a few weeks ago and they have been ridiculously helpful. Thank you!
When AA batteries are installed and I connect to a smartphone via USB C, does it consume AA batteries or smartphone batteries? Does it have settings which battery takes priority when USB C cable is connected?
Thank you! Have you thought about just doing voice over and later including the sound? Otherwise a lavalier that is close to your mouth could do the trick.
I use the Korg with the F6 and F3 with the Hosa MIT-129 impedance adapter that’s probably more expensive than the Korg 😂 …but it works well 👍 It’s also a great bit of kit to have if you have any other 6.3mm connections on other contact mics and hydrophones ie. JRF microphones.
@@howva I just use it as an xlr adapter. If it offers any benefits I’m not sure 🤔 but it gives a clean signal to the F3 and it’s well made unlike some other xlr adapters. I also use it other contact mics and hydrophones as an adapter to xlr inputs and they recommend it’s use 👍
Honest question, I’m just starting with sound and I don’t really have the money to assemble a ‘standard setup’ and I usually see lots of people with lots of microphones, bags, cables, equipment and I wanted to know how to start building a budget to start with
Hi Marcel, great movie, thanks to your productions I started to record the sounds myself, which gives me a lot of fun, I wonder how good the DPA 4560 is compared to eg the Roland CS-10EM that I have in my set. Maybe you can prepare a comparison of these two devices (and even more) in the field. I am curious about the binaural microphone duel. Greetings from Poland ;)
Hello friend! Great content! Thank you from Texas⚘Can you recommend an alternative to the Geofon? Looks like they are backordered... I'm interested in recording thunder and storm sounds Terence
Hi Chris. I always have them in the check in luggage and never had issues. When we did one pack travel I left them behind because I felt like they would take the Geofon away.
Well you can always start out with an Zoom H1n. Having a good windjammer, batteries and headphones should all be within the $200 euro budget. Maybe a little table tripod to place the H1n.
Hi Leo! We bought them in a store in Kuala Lumpur. Was not easy to find but I did manage to see a similar pack on Amazon. Here is the link geni.us/ftusxlr3pinmaletoqifem
