What an excellent talk! Loved it. Very inspirational. It just takes a little imagination to make massive changes. If only people would get out of their own way and stop thinking of themselves perhaps this would happen again. Massive shifts happen when we ask ourselves, “how can I serve?“
Thank you so much for your comment and support! We are glad so many people are being inspired by the talks from the conference. David truly is inspirational.
Oh, a little imagination won't do it! The fertile ground that existed 200 yrs ago does not exist today...at least, not in the West. If it exists elsewhere the seeds have yet to germinate. The 'high minds' did not exist in a vacuum! They were born of an elite. Today, our 'elite is utterly corrupt. When great minds speak today they are ignored or silenced. The people, too are different. Infinitely richer and infinitely more comfortable....and demanding.
It's the only way, but it's so out of style in these days of self-obsession, that we've a long road back. When we encourage our kids to believe they are the center of the universe, how can a culture of service survive?
Change starts with one person. Be the change. I did not raise my boys to be the center of their universe. Now there are two more spreading my values. Multiply.@@barrykochverts4149
@@barrykochverts4149 It's certainly a challenge. But it helps to have voices like this out there in the world for people to encounter. Children who were raised by helicopter parents will someday become adults living in a larger world, where their parents voices are not the only ones they encounter. When they are struggling as adults and looking for answers, there is a chance that they can find truth-speakers who are sharing real solutions. At that point, it will be up to them to determine when they are ready to take a higher road.
Excellent. Inspiring. He just left out one very important detail, the reason why these people wanted to improve society and the lives of their fellow citizens. Christ.
This is THE talk for me so far. David Stroud went to the foundation level, and challenged the elite and enabled of today and in turn, everyone else. He inspired those there and issued the challenge to dream and implement, and he inspired me as well. If we all make the choice to commit ourselves, no matter who we are or how little we think we have to contribute, and use just "a little imagination", we can effect change because we'll be doing it together, each one using their God given talents. ❤ Brilliant
Wow. What a speaker ! What a story. I’m inspired. God bless him. And God help us all find hope in these times. Some visions some ideas something to carry us through.
‘’Where there is discord, may we bring harmony / Where there is error, may we bring truth / Where there is despair, may we bring hope / Where there is doubt, may we bring faith’’
I love this talk. If you're the only one who wants to be a kind "do-gooder," you will still make a difference to someone who could change. Do it anyway. 👍😊
Interesting point. For me, Jordan Peterson is one of these "creative minorities", or individuals who inspire change and can encourage everyone to strive for a better way of life. There are others of course, and I hope to learn more about the other folks participating in this conference. For myself and a few close friends & family, Peterson's inspiring ideas and his own example have had a large impact on giving us hope for the future and setting a goalpost in the future. That helps people by seeing that there is a way out of the cultural decline. This is the direction that everyone can move in if we want to participate in the process of cultural improvement.

Superb talk by David Stroud, very impressive indeed. We really do have to fight to save western civilisation. Today's middle class are also complacent too. In my town in north east England, it is the highly skilled working classes who are watching alternative media, informing themselves of what is going on in the world and are trying to preserve the best of what we have. The middle classes seem far more complacent, seemingly content with their one or two foreign holidays per annum, unwilling to debate issues, fed on a diet of biased media coverage of the issues by the BBC and others. It is the skilled members of the working class who seem to have some common sense left, they give me hope, where the armies of middle class woke 20-,30-, 40- and 50 somethings give me cause for concern. The institutions have to be taken back from the left, who have controlled them all since the 1960s and continue to control academia, educational policy, healthcare policy, immigration policy.
This is a good summary - snapshot of the cultural landscape. You used the Term ‘Armys’ of middle classes 20s 30s - 50s etc. I don’t think you meant anything by that but it does reflect undertones observable in the West. IE; That If Balance and Structure is not upheld then Tribal Tensions could Destroy Europe. That Type of Tension and Apprehension is very Palpable it’s in the Either. In my opinion this is a Spiritual Negotiation first and then an Educational Negotiation. Universally / Spiritually, People and Countries of Europe need to know what they believe in and what Narrative unites them. _ That’s Task No. 1 __________________________ What Happens After that . . ? Will depend on the Answer given for _ Task No 1 . . ? 😉 THE SCORE LINE READS - Engl 0 - Euro 99 But it’s ‘next Goal Wins’ 🥅 👟 ⚽️ HAHhhaaaa. . . . Mr Stroud seems Cheerfully Optimistic that People are Smart enough and Capable enough to ‘ Rid it Up ‘ - Steady the ship ? 🤔
@@cumbriatreesurgeons8943 - “ Higher Education is the Pernicious Culprit ! “ 🤔 The Current ‘Education System’ is definitely not fit for purpose. Its been destroyed by constant floods of Fiat money. @@markysgeeklab8783 Are you sniffing glue ? Q; Do you think that England is experiencing a Cultural Decline or is this ARC Conference just a Talking shop for Anxious Conservatives ? ?
Yes, I think, as a senior, this is my call. I am inviting all like-minded to use our imaginations and get things moving in a Better direction. At least here in USA 🇺🇸,,we need help!
Wow, so cool to see and listen to an amazingly inspiring David Stroud again, who was my Pastor at ChristChurch London back in 2008-2010. His heart for the people hasn't changed an inch over the years. Quite disappointing I find though, even somehow cowardly, that he didn't mention with a single word, where his inspiration and ability to talk with such clearity and conviction comes from, which is from CHRIST the KING. Why didnt you say anything, Pastor David?
Very enlightening topic. Mr. J John Bennet would call such minority The Mogh. or The Maggies. Those who were the saviours of Persian civilization against Islamic attacks 14 centuries ago. As a result of their efforts, the Persian language along with many of its iconic elements have been preserved till today. Iran is the only nation that has not adapted Arabic language as their own. The Persian language had been affected by Arabs, but never willingly or fully accepted. So was the other aspects of their culture. That’s why even today, despite a high Muslim population in Iran, there are great characteristics differences between them and the rest of Muslim world. There has always been some minorities within that great civilization that had defended its ancestral heritage and their ways of life. I hope some minor elites of western culture wake up to the dangers that is threatening western ways of life and save its libertarian based cultural buildings.
Perhaps to continue the growth and attention keep doing post conference conversations on meaningful topics. Don’t get caught in the polemics only trap. Make it deep and wide. Perhaps invite all the different people you invited to the conference to contribute conversations. Not just the people that spoke on stage. There’s as great opportunity for a dynamic movement please don’t squander it.
@@arc_conference perfect! That Paul Vanderklay guy has some tremendous work in this specific direction. I’d love to see you talk with him directly and find out about his project. Thank you!
Please people, read about evolution and ecology and life cycles. Books like “The Vegetarian Myth” and “Sacred Cow” are must reads if you believe animals are the problem. I wish we weren’t top of the food chain because I too love animals, but we are. Our biology requires animal proteins and fat to thrive and world institutions want to take them from us. Think we’re a sick population now? If they succeed, it’ll be the end of us. Find a local rancher, vote with your dollars, and help change the world for the better.
One of the main problems is that if the population see our leaders as amoral, feckless and lying, it has the effect of 'why should I bother apart from looking after myself' A great shame, but thank goodness there are so many out there who see through these charlatans and plough on regardless with selfless, thoughtful acts of kindness.
The Wesley brothers saved the English speaking world and no one knows it. Their story is where we should look to find the way out of the current intellectual and spiritual degeneracy.
Citizenship is such a corrupt concept. We are born into a deal with a state, with the expectation of responsibilities being allegiance, taxation, and if needed military service. Crazy that this allegiance, is firstly made with an infant, secondary with no consent, and thirdly with no knowledge of how corrupt the state is in it's acquisition of an infant citizen.
Do-gooders with power are ofcourse important for development, but the speaker neglects other forces that also contribute. The almost revolution he mentions in the begining triggered action from those with power. Without that atempt on revolt, things would not have happened. Those in power (the socalled do-gooders) acted of fear of revolution and when the smell got too bad. They had neglected the cry from the poor for a ling time. The first thing do-ggoders should do today is to invite those who protests to dialog, find what they need, and cooperate with them to find common solutions.
I haven't been a fan of the talks from this event, feels like a re-branding for conservatives. This speech was pretty solid though. Wish he had gotten more time actually.
It helps not to view these talks through the lens of politics. Many of the major metrics in society are declining, it’s probably time to reinstate some values which brought us to the time of abundance in the first place, but with a fresh and compassionate take.
@@roflstomplolmao that's the thing, I do agree the metrics are declining, but we are so far ahead in so many categories that I think we are still better off. But there's also other quality of indicators that go beyond the metrics which do indicate we're declining. It's an interesting discussion with many perspectives.
@@roflstomplolmao You’re fighting institutional control of universities, elementary and secondary education emanating from the Ivy League universities down. In the case of the UK, Oxford and Cambridge. You’re fighting institutional control of news media in print, television and online sources that proliferate the ideas taught in the education sector, because that’s where the journalists were trained. You’re fighting popular culture in the entertainment industry from everything produced by legacy free-to-air TV, to Disney, Apple, Netflix and TikTok. These are all the tools essential to the saturation and unchallenged dominance of the culture. It’s 24/7 365. Unless genuine conservative multi billionaires start coming out of the woodwork to fund the start up of substantial institutions to rival and supplant the legacy institutions they will continue to hold their unchallenged monopoly on the global narrative they promulgate. The Daily Wire Plus with Ben Shapiro and Jordan Peterson are likely to for ever remain echo chamber bubbles. A viable counterculture requires mobilisation of scientists who don’t subscribe to the conformist narrative for the sake of keeping their jobs, while also weeding out the crackpots. It will require real journalists in the same spirit, not Tommy Robinson and Avi Yemeni. It will require real scholars in every field, medical, educational, the arts to fill the counter institutions. That is: institutions that stand for the things the legacy institutions used to stand for until let’s say the 1980s.
Thru the ages when the rich oppressed the poor , in God fearing nations , a war or a Depression seems to follow and the rich realises it needs the poor. Maybe we are there again?
Great talk content and concept but FFS please STOP SHOUTING 😵💫 Tryna listen here man 🤦♂️ Does this guy talk like this to his pals? I'd rather it was conversational rather than imposing, just impossible to give it the attention it deserves without feeling like pulling away.
What rubbish. The chartists weren't beaten by corn law repeal, they just became trade unionists, cooperators and socialists. The elitists had their day too, creating a culture seperate from that of the workers. Which it still is, although it's now become wokery.
This ARC talk is a bit like TEDex. What if this, what if that...word fillers when there is no message. In a multicultural world if everybody imagines a better future, there will be never a consensus. From here on out all solutions will piss a significant group off. Lets talk only specifics on particular problems we can solve and not have 5th grade speeches to adults
If you know so much and you’re so confident _ let’s hear your first specific solution to a current societal problem?? . . No Mid - Wit Nonsense ! Let everyone hear what you have to say ??
Q; What is the problem ?? Are you afraid you will upset “everyone” if you deal out some specific solutions for specific problems ?? Or are you short of solutions to specific problems ?? These “fifth grade” speeches as you like to put it - might not be up to your intellectual taste but don’t throw the child out with the dish soap. Life is a long road _ _ _ 🚧
The only way to revive our declining culture is through a return to doing good and being responsible. Exactly the behavior that built our society in the first place!
I don't think humans have changed much over the last 1000 years. They almost always wanted to return to the good old days, complained about the behavior of the youth and almost always blamed someone else (e.g complaining about mothers who are not responsible enough rather than helping children). You are responsible for your own actions, including the choice to blame someone for their negative impact on innocent "victims" rather than help the victims.
Yes. The decline, is because the culture kicked out too many people. Which is why it is dying, and accepting groups that were kicked out, was too little, too late.@@markysgeeklab8783
Doing good is not going to help. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved" "There is a way that "seems" right to men, but those ways are the way of death"
The concept of Creative Minorities seems to be what we lack in society now. Or perhaps they do exist but are stifled by a media-driven age that encourages focus on the wrong topics, banality, division and superficial gratification. But one thing is sure, none of our current politicians are in any way members of a creative minority.
Yes, a building must have an absolutely solid foundation, and structural integrity. “The props assist the house, until the house is built”. Emily Dickinson Skilled workers know this, good parents know this, artists know this. The very foundation of western civilization is the belief in Something Beyond, Above, that created us and to Whom we are answerable. If the falcon cannot hear the falconer, then indeed things fall apart.
