@@TotallydubbedHD I already received them, fastest Amazon delivery I've ever had xD. These really do sound great! My desk is very crowded at the moment as I have two monitors and also a spot for my 17" work laptop to work from home, so I really didn't have the room for bookshelf type speakers. I was looking for smaller than this even but it seems like you compromise on sound quality a lot. I had a Logitech 2.1 system that was really showing its age. I'm very happy with my purchase, thank you again! Edit: also as you said, the power and USB/audio cables are rather short. I like the length of the left to right cable though.

I have Q Acoustics 3010i (I see your 3030i in the background). Ho do you find the T60 in comparison with the 3030i? I guess it's comparing two very different range of speakers, but curious to know if the difference is worth the price difference.
@TotallydubbedHD

Nowhere near; as you said, different leagues. From mid-range, highs, soundstage and mid-bass accuracy - the T60 are no match for a set of bookshelf speakers like the 3030i + a proper amp/receiver.

Great review...you did mention that you can connect headphones to the speakers. But the interesting feature of this, according to creative, is that you can leave the headphones connected to the speakers and use a button at the front of the speaker to toggle from speakers to headphones. Very handy if you are listening when other people are going to sleep. I have two questions for you, Have you tried to connect the USB C port on the speaker to a phone to play music from the phone to the speakers? I was just curious about the possibility of playing high bit rate digital music from the phone. What microphone did you connect to the speakers, the sound quality was very good. Thanks DC

@majesticfrag7697
@majesticfrag7697 2 года назад
@@itstkj3087 I'll explain now. I have a T30 and they are much better than the new T60, I tested them for a long time, the fact is that the T60 win only when you connect them via usb-c and adjust the equalizer, raise the bass, only in this case the sound of the T60 is better. but then there are minuses, the bass of the t60 is much less than that of the t30, the t30 is much louder. you can listen to high-quality sound only through usb-c with the included and tuned equalizer. Does everyone have a free usb-c under the speaker? I think no. Ok, then you can use the 3mm jack, but then the equalizer won't work and the sound will be flat and terrible. Do you want to play some kind of game and simultaneously turn on music on your phone via Bluetooth? Not! You can not! Or you listen to the sound of the game or the sound of music through the bluetooth, for each action you need to switch the mode on the speaker. This is complete nonsense. In addition, when listening to music through bluetooth, the equalizer also does not work, lol. The sound is very flat, there is no bass, it's terrible. Yesterday I returned the new t60 back to the seller, I will continue to use my t30. They have an analog equalizer, that is, I can tweak the bass right on the speaker at any time, one 3mm connector, I can play a game and simultaneously listen to music on bluetooth with good loudness, I can add and remove the equalizer, everything works. And on t60 it's just awful, inconvenient, impractical, less functional. If I had no speakers at all and were given the choice of T30 or T60, I would of course choose T30.

T40 has been highly recommended since like 2007 or 2009 as one of the best desktop 2.0 speaker sets. They released two things since then, the T50 (discontinued) and T100 (garbage, tinny sound which is basically just a bunch of midrange). The T60 is brand new now, and I am super curious how they compare to T40. Sadly I can't find any comparisons. Not sure which to buy. T40 has dual 16 watt drivers, but they seem to have managed magical things with the T60's single 15 watt driver. The T60 speaker cabinet design is about 14 years newer than the T40, so it makes sense that they've figured out ways to design better speakers in that time. Edit: I'm picking the T60. The various EQ features let you switch between what you want to prioritize (bass for deep music, or midrange/vocal clarity). And the individual EQ bands let you manually tune things until you get good results for your typical content. They sound great and very well balanced and the software side of things really makes them amazing. With all those adjustments, their sound is less boxy than T40s to be totally honest, even though they don't have two drivers. The fact that you can also play music directly from a smartphone to them via bluetooth is a great addon feature. So yeah, I'm picking T60.

@@TotallydubbedHD Thanks, your video helped a ton with the decision. It arrives next week, maybe Monday. I'll definitely post a followup after using it for a while. One great feature I just noticed is that wasn't specifically mentioned in your video: You can connect headphones/headsets and the headset mic on the back of the speakers, and then there's a very simple button on the front of the speaker to switch audio output between speaker mode or headset mode. They can stay permanently plugged in. Wow. That simplifies things a lot, since I was constantly unplugging the headset and plugging in my old speakers when I switch several times a day. This is gonna be a huge upgrade. Looking forward to posting a small review about how it went.

@BenderdickCumbersnatch

@@TotallydubbedHD I've received it now. The T60 is leagues above T40. Out of the box the T60 is a bit muddy, but the speakers come to life with the software and extra features: - Crystallizer effect is great for lifting the veil and adding treble to these speakers. - Clear Dialog is so good that I keep it permanently enabled even for music. It doesn't cause excessive treble/mids whatsoever, and does its job of making voices very clear. You can definitely hear that it takes away a little bit of the bass, but that's really a good thing since these speakers already produce a lot of bass and this reduction actually helps make the bass sound more controlled. - Surround effect actually works. I suppose it's some psychoacoustic phase shifting stuff, not sure, but it really widens the stereo image. I keep it permanently enabled. - Smart Volume to smooth out the volume differences between different content (I guess it's a compressor), is good. I keep it enabled too. Less fiddling with volume. - Equalizer could be useful but I don't use it yet. It's disabled. Because the other effects do a great job lifting the veil already. - There is plenty of bass, so I never enabled the Bass effect. Literally don't need it. - The ability to permanently keep a headset plugged in and switching between speakers and headset is insane. I love it. It's super handy. No more crackling and issues when switching between speakers and headsets. Games that can't handle audio device switching no longer have to be restarted to "regain audio", since you never switch audio output since it all goes through the speakers. - The USB soundcard/DAC/ADC in these speakers is good. No noise or hiss. - I absolutely love the noise removal feature for the microphone passthrough. It's a great bonus feature. - The ability to play stuff over Bluetooth works flawlessly and adds a whole new dimension to the speakers. Morning music via the smartphone is now easy to achieve. The sound is fantastic. It sounds better than most 2.1 (subwoofer) desktop systems I've tried in the past. It has just the right amount of bass for me. It's punchy and deep without being obnoxious/muddy. Any downsides? Only a few: - The wall power cable is short. - The USB cable is ridiculously short (I may buy a replacement for it since I'm currently forced to use awkward USB ports to reach). - When using headphone passthrough, the headphone volume is controlled via the volume knob on the speakers. This is a little bit stupid, perhaps. Because headphone volume is very different from speaker volume, so I end up having to use two wildly different settings depending on whether I use headphone or speaker mode. But it's a minor complaint and I will get used to which speaker volume positions to use. - The "Smart Volume" feature seems to cause weird volume ducking when you have quiet background music and then a sudden loud sound effect. It doesn't just lower the effect. It makes it sound weirdly inverted. I may end up disabling Smart Volume, but it's a rare occurence and only happens in games with huge dynamic range (very quiet music and then suddenly loud noises). - And the final downside is the volume itself. It's loud... Way too loud. When using it via USB from a computer, the volume basically goes from "Silent" to "ear blasting" within a few millimeters of volume knob turning. So I had to counteract this to get more range on the physical volume knob, by using a few tricks: 1) Set the Windows volume output to 30% instead of 100%, so that the speakers aren't receiving a full volume signal (this "fix" is a tiny bit worrying since anything that suddenly changes my digital volume to 100% could perhaps damage the speakers, but that risk is very low). 2) Enable the "Smart Volume" setting, but I am still not sure whether I will keep that effect due to the aforementioned "sound inversion" issue it can cause sometimes. 3) Keep the knob in pretty much a static position and just use the digital Windows volume controls instead. But that's because I am quite far from the speaker. Could also do the reverse, by keeping Windows volume static and using the physical knob instead if you want. It feels like the reason for the extreme volume/amplification issue when connected to a PC, is that the amplification seems tuned for smartphones (where you rarely have 100% output volume), and not tuned for PCs (where it's common to leave windows at 100% volume and just use the speaker knobs instead). But ehhh, it's survivable and I am already getting used to it. In the end, those downsides aren't a big issue and I will get used to them quickly, and may perhaps even find better workarounds. The upsides and features and sound quality are absolutely incredible and I definitely would rate this product about 9.5/10. If it didn't have the minor issues it'd be a 10/10 thanks to its sound quality and overall amazing features. And the value is immense. Thanks again for your video which helped me choose these speakers! -- Johnny

@@BenderdickCumbersnatch thanks so much for sharing those detailed thoughts, much agreed with the analysis, although, some of the settings I don't use. As for the volume, haha - that's a good point. Funny because there is so much contender and so little good quality reviews (you know, reviews with frequency analysis). Just to name a few from Creative around the same price: Pebble pro , T15 wireless, T100, Gigaworks T20 series ii and maybe the gigaworks t40 series ii. And that's just for 2.0 setups. Then you have Edifier, Logitech, Bose, etc. which all have some good products.

How good is it for gaming?

I use the T10 Creative (2x 5 watt) speakers for gaming, and they have fairly good sound (although they are more suitable for music and film). The T20 II is one noticable step up, so I guess the T60 will perform very well compared to those 🙂

I just made a new Sub,, Great review and what's good is you a audio file chap and a gamer 😎 I got a question.... unfortunately I can't wear headphones anymore,, tinitus,, how them low boy's and girl's.. I was wondering as I play,,, cod and can't wait for the new battlefield, I'm looking for bookspeakes ,, but I'm very competitive and I'm looking for a great audio positioning and footsteps... I'm not after a Sub.. I Don't have it too high so maybe asking to much... As you know its a minefield out there abd you can spend thousands I probably got £600 budget, but maybe you don't have to spend that much,, that's why I'm asking a pro like your self 😉 Not sure if I need a dac/ amp. Not mother board chip.. Just wanted to hear the enemy and wear they are.. at present I got the preSonus e3.5 I'm onboard from pc but got to have them quite load to hear footsteps... Hope you get back or maybe someone can help.. Keep safe 🙏

Thanks buddy, glad you like the content! So you're looking for a set of bookshelf speakers under £600 and for gaming (although I wouldn't normally suggest it vs headphones, in your case I can emphasise). In this respect, if you've got that budget, you need to look into the Edifier S3000Pro; absolutely phenomenal speakers - but MUCH larger than these ones: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hT8q_0Ewjxc.html

I have this trash that I bought in Hong Kong for, I believe, $100 and it is no longer working; it has power but no sound. I emailed the store and they asked me to send the speaker to them to replace it, but the shipping will cost me $150. WTF!, so I emailed Creative Lab and asked if there was a service center for the speaker in my country, and they said there was, but they wouldn't cover any warranty because I bought it abroad.

I'll explain now.

Doing research on the Creative T-series speakers is so incredibly confusing. I can't even find measurements for some of these speakers. Here's what I see people say: - The T20 is a classic legendary balanced speaker. - The T20 and T40 has woofer-breakup problems. (Did this get fixed in future models??) - The T100 was never a good speaker. - The T60 is worse than the T30. - The T40 is better than the T30. - The T40 is worse than the T60. - The T40 is worse than the T20. - The T60 is better than the T50. How do I even begin to know which speaker is the best????
