Just what are all these different mesh and canvas products to sew on. Hessian or Burlap, Aida for Xstitch, latchhooking, needlepoint rug making. It seems there are no end of variety of these grids, but what can we use them for. Tracey @artfiberstitch shows you her stash and gives you a little outline of what they are for, but more importantly how we can think outside the square! And creative beautiful things.

The beige weave is the nonslip grip that goes under floor rugs to keep them in place

wow, you use the colour very great. it think the grit from the purple one is maybe that your rug won´t slide

Thank you so much Maureen. Latest operation was to remove a plate they had put in in December. Should be a much quicker recovery.

Thank you so much for sharing this! That latch hook canvas and all my quilting scraps has my mind overflowing with ideas for rugs and smaller things. Weaving small fabric scraps into the canvas with other fibers could be so much fun and create some unusual art. Thanks again!

that gives me an idea as I had a large canvas for a rug hook and cut out a rectangle for bookbinding I didn't ever finish that project but maybe with the addition of crochet scraps will be awesome thank you!

Sorry about your surgery. That left hand has been quite troublesome this year. Hopefully you recovery quickly. I've got a Guild meeting in town this evening so I'm heading to the craft store. I've got plenty of Auda cloth & a HUGE piece if green hessian, so I'll be looking for some canvas. Take care Tracey!

Thanks Marei. The operation was to take out the plate in my wrist which I broke last Xmas! Hopefully things will improve now!
