We played this last year in orchestra, I am a bass player, this song was amazing, but I pretty much sawed the crap outta my E string, almost broke my bow in the concert.
I'm playing this for my 8th grade concert from memory because we are going to do it in the dark with glow Sticks tied to the end of the vow Edit: 5 years later and I still remember this.
Hedwig Pikachu wrong. Bass is the majority and you can basically hear it in the music and see it... you know.. if you had the bass sheet. Bass has a very much different sound from a cello and its deeper and bigger.
Hedwig Pikachu The cello and bass parts both include the main melody. I've heard the cello part so I know this. I PLAY the bass part in orchestra, thus saying it's epic. If you listen you can here the bass apart from the cello. Both parts are also different. I understand that you know the cello part well and would say this. I'm just saying that I enjoy the bass part, I wasn't clear on what part. There are part where the bass is playing different parts than the cello. How could you know what part I'm talking about. Sorry to be rude but really, what if I was talking about a different part of the song then the main melody that you're thinking of if that's even what you are thinking of.
Learning this at an orchestra camp and I absolutely love it. I like upbeat songs, but they do get boring after awhile. That's why I love this song so much, because you get such creepy but cool vibes from it😂
1:15 in my orchestra there were 2 violas and they were a few of my best friends and when they played any note they played the most high pitch note they could play
Last year I was in 6th Grade orchestra, in 7th grade. But anyways. I have watched people perform this song myself. They even turned out the lights around 1:20 into the song.
I am playing it in a couple of weeks too. We have barely done anything with it though because we are focusing on our other songs . I think we will do fine though.
I'm playing this on December something for Cab Calloway and this recording is really good to play along to! It's really good, the sound quality is so good unlike the other videos of orchestra pieces. 🙃 Hope we don't fail this LOL

Ryan, to be fair. missing any instrument in an orchestra piece can sound bad. In this particular song, your cello and bass are what you hear the most, but in other songs you need violins or violas to properly hit the right melody, ya know? Orchestra is about bringing ALL of the instruments together and creating beautiful songs.
Alois Watkins RyanNaytion I have to agree with Alois. When i'm in my orchestra, the violas really do support the cellos (it also depends on the song :p) But just in my opinion, I REALLY do enjoy hearing the cello by itself. It's so soothing. :)
Yumi Carrington+ i think the cellos kind of "smooth out" the bass in most songs. I have always preferred viola over violin. Although i am a cello, viola was my second choice of instrument when i started orchestra.
i'm actually learning this song for my orchestra concert for the 7 grade even dragon dance and knight's quest, i play the viola but also learning the violin and hopefully other instruments as well good luck to me :)
