Eileen Pasillas I don't always have time to practice so I listen to this while I am doing my other tasks. Also I could tell you were joking because there is not 40 hours in a day. There is 24.
I'm leaving this comment so that whenever someone likes this, I get a notification "Someone liked your comment" and can come back to listen to this wonderful nostalgic song. (Violin I, from 6th grade when I learned) Edit: I'm now in high school and wow, this brings back memories.
@@rossanaolea3842 yayy I'm out of middle school but have fun this piece is the best u'll play all year(all Richard Meyer pieces are awesome) I'm working on emerald falcon right now and it's awesome u should check it out(deffo a bit more high level tho)
I played this in Louisville, KY at the National Orchestra Festival when i was a 7th grader as a 2nd violin and my whole orchestra class still loves it and talks abt it all the time
bro i feel that...im supposed to be practicing the viola part to this and i was curious to what the whole thing actually sounded like and im in total awe of how horrible my school orchestra is lmao
So I'm going to get a viola soon do any of you fellow viola players have any suggestions on pieces I could purchase? Or any composer you could recommend?
I WATCHED THIS SO MANY TIMES!!!!! my friends were holding my mouth at school so I would stop whistling it but I still did it (I play cello) I recomend doing orchastra so you can learn this song
It seems that at the end of the song the knight fails to kill the dragon and gets killed by it or the dragon was defeated and was killed by the knight. 🐉
FURIOUS GAMER that’s how the song wants you to think. My orchestra teacher told us that the song is about a knight trying to hunt down a dragon, and in the end, you decide either the knight dies or the dragon dies
To me it sounds like both of them killed eachh other because it goes from the cello[dragon] to the violins[knight] playing[fighting] back and forth until they both play together and stop together[death] sorry if your a bass or viola i dont know theyre parts ima cello
everyone in my orchestra except the cellos are terrible. I'm a cello. The reason we are best is due to practice and experience. The other instruments mainly have new players. The front 2 violin 1's are pretty good, and decently loud, while the other 4 are all new and are bad and quiet. Violin 2's are just trash at it, and the violas are voted second best players due to the 2 (there are only 2) of them playing for at least a year. And our only bass is completely new and is not very good at it
This is definitely the piece of music that make a orchestra player truly part of and orchestra. It is a right of passage, and I know no one who hasn’t played this song at some point. It was the first real piece I learnt, and still one of my favorite to this day.
Svt IcyAir great point, you know what I wish Richard Meyer did at the end of this piece, since this is the dragon hunter, he should have made the last note, a powerful long note, with a giant crescendo.
I’ve been playing violin for 8 years and I remember this was the first full length song I ever played as a little 2nd grader. I’ve been biased toward it as one of my favorite songs of all time and still have it memorized.
0:34 as a viola i felt so special when we got this part because the violins always get all the attention and get all the solos on most of the songs we played. Violas are seriously underrated
As a cello player, I completely agree and also cellos are very underrated as well, I've told my friends I play cello, they say, "you mean a bass?" Or "what's a cello?" And it really gets on my nerves lol
i love how everyone here talks about how they played this song when they were younger, I'm going back to it now and remembering when we played it in 1.75 speed (I recommend it a lot) it was one of those moments of joy when you get every note right, and the orchestra is following you with the outstanding sound with this speed, I play bass by the way :) It's the spark of knowing it sounds right.
My class played this in sixth grade. Now it’s a sixth grade tradition because every year my class asked the teacher if the sixth graders were playing it. Years later most of my orchestra class can still play the majority of it from memory. This song is a legend
I remember playing this in middle school. I can still play it by heart! As simple as it is, I enjoy it very much and Dragonhunter will forever have a special place in my little musical heart.
Anybody who is dissing band in the comments: YOU ARE WRONG I'm in orchestra (1st violin) and band (percussionist) they are both aMaZiNg so quit being a --------
I have to play this on my cello and I'm bad at it also the cellos don't get a part so we're just in the background while the violins and violas get to be in the spot light
Mettaton Lover I'm sure you will be just fine if you practice and that's only for songs. There many songs that cello, basses, and violas get the spotlight. (I'm a violinist)
Nahhhh, what are you saying. Trust me, the cellos are awesome in this song. After all practice makes perfect. Once you get that, it be YOU in the spotlight.
im going to be honest here, cellos are a support part, its what you signed up for. yes, there will be songs where you are the melody (and they are awesome) but those songs aren't common in public school orchestras
My orchestra's been playing this lately, and as the pianist I need to touch up on my bass clef, but I feel like it helps to hear the song over and over. Thanks mate!
I had a concert last night, I play viola. We were thrown behind because of covid when I was in 6th grade, it’s my 8th grade year now and we did really well >:)
Playing this song since 4th grade and I use it as my warm up. What my orchestra teacher always said to keep us in the beat was the" cellos and violins are having a conversation, so just keep the conversation going guys"...ahhhhhh I want to go back to 4th grade😫😂😅
Gotta thank songs like this, Gargoyles, and many others for practically training my hand to play. Now I play bass guitar and it felt right just right off the bat. Played cello not bass. Well, yes I played bass for a year but cello for three. Good days...
My orchestra played this about a year ago, we joked about how us cellos and basses got to be a dragon while the upper strings had to be a puny little human
I played this song in 8th grade, (I played Bass), this is one of my favorite pieces ever, I dropped orchestra after 8th grade but this song brings back so many memories
After four years of viola playing, this song is still the most vivid in my head. Everytime I hear it my fingers automatically start going up and down to play each note. Thank you for posting this
Bruh, I finally found it, this is a true master piece, I remember playing it when I was in fifth grade, I love this song, it's awesome and I sound very good playing it
my freind who’s also i’m my orchestra made a version of this song but he said it was “from the dragons pov” and he literally just played the entire song the same way but behind the bridge and it sounded very accurate
I’m sorry but if you haven’t played this song in your orchestra then it’s not an orchestra. It’s not a real orchestra. You have to play this at least once in your orchestra.
I used to play the cello and this was my favorite songs but I switched to the flute and I found out that I can play my old cello part really close to the original on flute and I’ll be honest it’s the happiest I’ve been in band
So I started viola last year (my entire class was beginner orchestra), and we got 1st place in our competition against every school in the district, along with some outside of the district. Playing mainly against high schoolers. I can’t tell you how proud of myself/my classmates I was
After our orchestra class played this for literally 10 minutes... *During Lunch:* Us all singing our parts making almost a replica of the real one (Btw it's been 3 months already and we still do it ✌)
