Are you just starting the probate process with your loved ones estate property? Well I would love to help guide you through the process, and to start I suggest getting a handle on all bills and claims of said estate. Creditors claims against an estate are a part of this process, but sometimes the claims have lapsed or are unknown of because of lack of documentation. Very informative video. Question: my sister has said that she wants me to have her stuff - if anything should happen to her. I’m hesitant to help her set me up as her Executor because “her stuff” consists of an older car, her furniture and clothing, no life insurance and substantial debt on credit cards. She rents. As Executor, would I be obligated to sell her stuff to pay the creditors .. or can I place it all in storage and tell the creditors to come take an item to satisfy their claim? Ultimately hoping that something might be left.

AA, Since your state that your sister has little in her “estate”, you would most likely put in a lot of work for little reward if any…I would recommend you speak with your sister and verify if she does have anything of value in her estate and if she does, minimally she should draft a will naming you as her heir. Hope this helps!
