Aventus cologne is just different. You have to remember that most people don't even wear scents anymore. Narrow that down to people that do but can't/won't afford the price point of Creed. Aventus cologne really does kick rocks at Aventus. If you buy it not only will you smell outstanding but chances are extremely high that not only will you be the only one wearing it but most people won't have even ever smelled it before because it is so expensive and people don't wear it. It really is worth the price but you'll need a decanter to freshen it up every few hours. The performance vs price is terrible. But that first couple of hours makes up for it. Basically if you can afford to wear it it's an easy buy. If this is a financial reach and you aren't going to wear it often but only on special occasions than you could probably find something at a better price that will do the trick for you a handful of nights or days a year. But if you are looking for a distinctively powerful daily signature scent and 400 dollars isn't going to put you in the red then this is what you want.
I found the cologne to be equally good as the origonal the Absolu looks promising I am still hoping of finding it at a cheaper price. Hopefully it won't get discontinued
My bottle of Absolu Aventus is a compliment magnet for sure! It is the newest to my collection so I will have to see how it rivals the compliments from the ladies with my Aventus Cologne. I had a college age babe at the local supermarket literally follow me through 2 different isles like a puppy dog loving the smell and finally asking me what it was I was wearing. Be it at the mall, work, airport anywhere I always get smiles and compliments from Aventus Cologne. It just works guys.
I went to Nordstrom to smell these and was surprised how similar Absolu was to the original dna. I was expecting something darker. However, I could tell in the dry down something different was happening and really liked it.
Hello Erica, having smelled all 3 aventus i would like to share my thoughts: Aventus OG : The performance and quality has severely deteriorated during the last years. Aventus : Cologne : Ok fragrance but very light IMO. Aventus Absolu : The best of the 3 and more likeable . However this also lacks in performance and projection. On me it lasts 4-5 hours with medium projection for the 1st hour and close to the skin for the rest of the duration. In Greece it costs 320 Euros but i do not think that it worths getting it.
Good stuff. I own all three and AC as far and away my biggest compliment getter. However, AA is on its heals. Both seem to have a visceral effect on women. Catnip meeowww
Spot on with this. I have 4 bottles of Absolu because it is without doubt the best of the 3. You can’t find it now, so glad I have extra to last. On the down side, it doesn’t last as long as the original Aventus.
AC is my daily go to. Interesting as I was drawn to the pineapple notes of AC vs the spicy scent of Aventus. Working in a hospital setting, I get compliments all the time. Will have to try Absolu.
I have all 3 and the og has gotten me sooo many compliments. It’s gotten some of the craziest reactions from girls. Cologne has never gotten me any before and absolu has gotten a handful. I’m happy it works out like that because the og is my favorite anyways and it was my first niche ever
your right..the OG might be the best..flankers are good too, but there is something about the og..althou the batches of it vary over the years..some are smokier then others and some are more fresh pineapple citrusy..I prefer the smokier batch..
I haven’t smelled it yet but what’s most intriguing is the comparisons to sauvage elixir others have made which I know you hate, but you like Absolu. I really really like elixir but it makes me want to try absolutes even more hoping I don’t get the sauvage elixir vibe 😊
I feel like I'm the only person on the planet who doesn't like aventus, tbf I haven't smelled the new formulation, but I've heard it's a lot worse than the old one.
I gotta give it up to Mont Blanc. Their clone of Aventus is spot on. I have both, & really can’t tell the difference. I do get a sense of better quality from Aventus, but not enough to drop 5 bills on the real thing. Especially if you can get Mont Blanc for a 1/4 of the price.
Yeah, I went into the perfume shop to buy Aventus, and they gave me Mont Blanc Explorer. It grew on me. But with so much hype around Aventus, I had to smell it. And it was exactly the same.

Erica. I went to an Aventus store in London next to Covent Garden. There was a skinny pipe blowing what looked like steam to the outside cold air. However, it was a cologne scent. I noticed that at a few other places like Miller Harris and was amused.
I wish I loved Aventus as much as most people do. On first smell, I hated it. Super loud grapefruit-like opening. (I don’t get pineapple). In the next few days, I began to like the dry down. Now, I can enjoy it, but I don’t LOVE it the way I love GIT. I have a sample of Absolu on order, and I have high hopes for it.

Inspiring review. What a shame it only makes sense in a parallel, older-batches universe, since nowadays Aventus features some seriously heavy water notes...
What a dramatic review. I went to the creed store in Miami and i tested it and it smelled like pesticide. I went all the way there to go shopping and I was going to buy a bottle. I was so disappointed and then about three or four hours later we ran into a department store that sold Creed i told them what it happened they said it’s impossible. They sprayed more on me and it smelled like the same thing, it smell like pesticide I didn’t smell anything else. At that point after being sprayed twice I was praying to God nobody smelled pesticide on me while I was shopping there. I’m not sure why everybody says it has all these other notes in there possibly can’t be my own scent. I worked tons of perfume and cologne.
She is a sells woman … of course even in 2024 the OG is better than the rest. Why would you wanna buy a Aventus that smells like Versace pour homme? Or like dior sauvage elixir. But she is there to make you wanna buy those other ones. There is ignorant humans who actually will believe her.
I just tried Aventus for the first time. It wasn't fruity at all and was all smoke and birch. Massively disappointed and I don't understand the hype. It's kinda gross imo. Maybe it's just a fresh batch that needs to sit and develop for a while, I'll try it again in a few months.
My favorite is AC. The Absolu smells good but on the drydown it smells like if you layered the OG Aventus & Sauvage Elixir, then spilled fireball whiskey all over yourself at a party 😂
I don’t get the hype on aventus. I bought it from the house and smells like an old man with money. I get maybe a touch of pineapple in the opening I’ve tried it several times and would gladly trade it for the Cologne which I prefer.
Aventus Cologne, despite its reputation, has proven to be one of the most disappointing fragrances I've experienced in terms of performance. It's positioned as suitable for casual and professional settings, but considering its steep price of $395, its longevity is underwhelming, lasting merely three hours. This is particularly surprising when compared to my Dolce & Gabbana EDT, which, at a lower price point, offers significantly better lasting power. This stark difference in performance makes Aventus Cologne seem like a poor investment to me
Aventus cologne is much better imo it’s aventus but much more elegant, more fruit and very addicting it smells infinitely more expensive my eyes roll into the back of my head when I smell it whereas aventus is much smokier if you’re looking for a straight masculine scent go regular but if you’re more of a fragrance lover and want to smell a bit more sophisticated and appealing to the ladies aventus cologne smells divine. My only complaint with aventus cologne is the longevity is average at best. Regular aventus isn’t really that much better though I’d recommend doing what I did and ordering sample viles of each for like $10 on eBay and then deciding what full bottle to get
🤦♂ Appreciate your opinion but just C'mon. Aventus is king! & I have smelled Absolu once in store & really thought that it may be better than the original but that's just my first impression & fragrances have a tendency to smell more boring over time like Aventus, which I've owned for several years
