Here in Denmark, taxes are so ridiculously high on these kind of goods, that if you buy a bottle of 100ml Creed Aventus and break it against the floor, you'll be rolling yourself in it, then you marinade your wife, children, cat, dog, friends and then the whole neighbourhood in the liquid, even if it means you have to pull out glass shards from everyone's butt for weeks to come 8)
This video came out exactly when Creed was probably pitching to investors. After this romantic ad (2/2020) BlackRock became the new majority shareholder. Olivier Creed was already talking about working on a global scale, so he knew he needed investors. People have been saying that Creed's fragrances lost quality, which makes perfect sense: Lower the production costs, keep prices the same, huge margins. So buying Creed is/was a wise and attractive business solution. Now it's all about marketing "4P": Keep PRICES high, lower production cost. Keep the hype aroung the PRODUCT and PROMOTE it like crazy - globally. PLACE it wherever there's a shop (on and offline). It's become a designer-grade perfume with niche prices basically. I used to buy Aventus when it was new and amazing. Now I'm an ex-costumer, cause for a nose like mine the difference in quality is notable.
Yes, this was made to persuade investors. This was a good time for Creed to be sold. Olivier is getting old, and isn't sure if Erwin wants to take over the business for the rest of his life. Also, the success of Aventus helped the company's numbers and reputation.
You were spot on with their poor quality. I just bought Aventus from Costco (not joking) and it doesn’t smell like it used to and the performance is horrible.
RIP Creed manufacturing process. Creed has been bought by Blackrocks, so their manufacturing process will be like every designer fragrance brand, and the quality may not be the same. Creed Aventus batches are becoming watered done, and clones are lasting longer now.
@@user-md2fm7ik2z Yes, I know. I once bought an interpretation of Creed Aventus called AIRES from a one man perfumer on Etsy named Adrian Rivera who owns the store Rivera Parfums. It smelt just like the fruity batch of Creed Aventus that everyboby loves. When clones are getting that good you don't need Creed Aventus in your collection unless you just want it for prestige, and a true fragrance collector.
@@hldvoyeur4709 You are still using aventus??? Level up your game wanabe, nishane hacivat and Elysium from Roja is much better.... Creed is Niche for the lower class.
Not one smile...they try so desperately to appear professional, it is actually quite funny. If there has ever been a master perfumer in the Creed family, I am the emperor of fuckin China.
Its overused nowadays and the mixture is not as good as it was. The old Aventus would Last for over 24 Hours on me (just one spray) and smelled so intense like pineapple. If you buy ist nowadays it doesnt last that long and smells more like citrus. But the old aventus is still my favourite.
@@sondant4224 How old are you talking? Like maybe going back to 2010 2011? Oldest I have is a 2015 one here. 15X01. A three quarter full 120ml. To be honest it doesn't last anything special. I actually put two sprays on tonight and it's pretty weak now few hours later. I had older back in the day but at the time it was just second hand Aventus and I sold it on. I don't really recall it being anything exceptional regarding strength either though. I often felt a lot of the Aventus batch stuff was cork sniffing.. that said, I was never really an Aventus lover. It was never my go to fragrance. I always had a preference for more unusual Creeds. Like Acier Aluminium and indeed Green Valley.. I always liked the fresh green mixed with the mint, blackcurrant and indeed the violet leaf in Green Valley. Shame they vaulted it.. I always thought it was one of their best. I've been a fan of Creed for many years now.. at one stage or another I've basically owned everything they ever released except certain exclusives or rare vaulted releases. I sold off or gave away a lot of my Creeds though. I just keep a smaller selection these days of the classics and a few other ones I enjoy.
@@Sinnerboy88 no, I'm definitely not talking that old...I bought mine in 2018 but maybe I got an older batch. I admit, it was my first niche scent which is probably why I was even more impressed. But when I compare it to my newest Aventus purchase, I get really sad. It lasts for 1 or 2 hours and the strong, beautiful pineapple scent is not there at all, not even when it's freshly applied. I love the original Aventus so much but I'm afraid I'll never have it again
@@sondant4224 you are 100% right and more companies do that. Chanel, Dior, Tom Ford - they all are crap these days. Watered down versions of themselves, but the price tag says otherwise. 😂
@@sondant4224 The new and reformulated Aventus now have the pineapple in their heart notes. It was really reformed now. Pre-reform Aventus are now gold juices.
0:56 look at these tiny nuances in the formulas. and every step leads to a different result, a next step which has to be judged. a perfumery is an art form without a doubt. now I think about these companies, brands, which use AI to "create" "new" scents. creating a scent takes more than databases of existing statistics, there are nuances that can make all the difference that a machine doesn't know. for example, an AI might miss a lucky accident, that an artist is happy to make, a new accord that's totally out of the box, but it fits perfectly. an AI misses something like that if there are no similarities in the database, even if it smells, or sounds f a n t a s t i c. art takes intuition, creativity, ideas, experience, and talent to create something that will touch the people. an artist. creating art takes a human soul. does anyone believe, a piece of music of the Beatles, let's say, "All my loving", or Mozart's Symphony No. 40 - just to name a few popular pieces, could ever have been created by a machine? something that touches souls like these? something like the wedding march by Mendelssohn? why is the wedding march such a perfect composition for a ceremony, especially a wedding? nobody knows, but a machine wouldn't even recognize it as perfect if there is no successful similarity in the database. how can an AI recognize if it is something out of the box? no similar data in the database. it can't. because it is not a human with intuition and a personal taste. an AI can't create any art, only garbage, may it be music or painting or sculptures, or new scents. therefore, it is an insult to the customers that some brands are using computers nowadays. no wonder these fragrances smell like crap. I know there are people claiming, that some artificial created "art" isn't bad. wrong. anyone who claims that has simply a very poor "taste".
Wrong!! I have batch 20e01n. It lasts 8-9 hours on my skin. It has a very bright Pineapple opening that lasts a good 2-3 hours until it settles down to this musky ambergris scent that draws attention.
Their current batches are lacking in QUALITY & EXCELLENCE…. If this continues I’m not replenishing my Aventus, MI or SWM bottles I’ll just buy ARMAF clones. Is laughable that clone creators are better at quality control and are actually LISTENING to the customer !! ARMAF Silver Mountain Water clone was labeled “Sillage” they are now rubbing it in your face.
Honestly I can smell the difference between fake brand smell and the original creed aventus, if you can’t afford original creed, then don’t buy creed, creed is the founder’s of this smell, all the rest are fake and you can literally smell the difference. It’s like saying- why do I need to buy a Porsche 911 original and German quality if I can go and buy 911 build buy china 🤦🏻♂️ and cheaper and trying to prove to others that is the same lol
Olivier and Erwin Creed are perfumers? LIke, REAL perfumers?? NOPE. Ever since I've read 'The Ghost Perfumer' I now know the truth about the 'real' history of that Company, as well as the 'noses' behind some of their most successful fragrances (GIT; Adventus; Bois du Portugal). Once I'm done with my bottle of SMW I will no longer buy fragrances from those fakers.
Pick a Creed fragrance today and they didn’t make it .... they get well known perfumiers to make scents . They have to sign non disclosure documents so don’t even get their name on them !!! Last Creed actually made solely by a member of Creed family was probably more than 100 years ago !
@@Riri-oj1zs Kid, You have no idea you're being ripped off 🤣 I own some Creeds and thier Dupes.. and Frankly its the Clones that get More Compliments 😂😂😂
Creed lost quality and I hate it. Well green irish tweed is still good but aventus went from scent of heaven to a much cheaper version that doesn't last half as long.
Olivier nor Erwin Creed are actual perfumers. That code has been cracked. They may be "noses", i.e. design directors of their brand's scents. But the actual lab work to create them is done by actual perfumers. These perfumers do say, however, that Olivier Creed is a genius nose. Some say Olivier Creed was the greatest scent evaluator of the last 50 years.
Not anymore. Creed has sold out, and been bought by Blackrocks. No longer an independent family owned brand. Just have to say that for marketing reasons similar to Whataburger now.
@@OsAbliNgin911 I've read on them and it makes sense now. Creed increased their prices over the last decade since they knew they were planning to sell it anyway. Pretty much squeezed their company down to the last penny.
I have a 100 ml bottle laying around of creed aventus with approx. 98ml left, i love The smell, but The performance is down right terrible for The price. One of my biggest regret purchase because of that. I own Nishane Hacivat aswell and it outperforms aventus and is like aventus a beautiful smelling fragrance with some similarities
I love Creed so sorry for all you die hard fans out there but ARMAF Club De Nuit Intense Man Pure Parfum is on a par with Creed Aventus at a fraction of the price, don’t believe me buy a bottle and compare it.
Is it just me or do other consumers feel what I’m going to say, I recently bought a new bottle of creed imperial and it sucked so bad that it felt that it was watered down version and the smell was a little off it kinda made feel like it was a knock off version.
I wouldnt say it 99% but it is really close. I would say Parfums Vintage rush of unicorns intense is closer than Milestone but it is more pricey than Milestone just my thoughts
Just the way they are. If you bought it from a trusted store rather than some eBay scammer it's likely genuine. People glamorize the strength of Creed (and many other niche fragrances). In my experience, cheap junk is usually a lot stronger, as it's made from harsh chemicals.. niche fragrances are usually milder, fainter, more refined as they include more natural ingredients. Strength is never an indicator of quality or authenticity. I've bought bottles of Tom Ford Private Blends from Harrods and Maison Francis Kurkdjian direct from MFK site in Paris and they were super weak.. I've had Amouage direct that was very weak also. People will swear blind that it's impossible and "they have to be knock offs" but anyone that tells you they can't be weak simply doesn't know.. they smell one bottle and think they've smelled every bottle. Obviously there can be differences over time too.
I bought Aventus in 2021 ,it smells and perfums very bad .in 2018 i bought also a Aventus and I got everytime coompliments .but the new one I had never get compliment too .Do not buy it and save your money .
This is quite the high budget advert, too bad it’s supposedly complete BS. I still totally love the house of Creed all the same though. I’ll go on believing the history, it makes me feel better about my 20 bottle creed collection lol I have to add this as well… if you can’t get ahold of older bottles of Aventus, get something like Tiziana Terenzi Orion instead it’s a beautiful take on original Aventus.
So we buy the history..china sell the same quality parfume for cheap price..next no more family business..but china factory rising..stupid..u should evolve not only the parfume but also the price to sustain..
This is why China will be the number 1 economy in the world( allready is everything made in China) because of people with mindset like you that wants to pay premium handmade raw materials selected by hand artisan for over 250 years, wants to pay little money, instead giving money to the chinese that all they do is copying, people like you will never understand art and the sacrifice and hard work you put to buy theese thing like a Creed fragrance or a genuine Rolex or a Ferrari,
@@Roffe.7 Well sorry to say but aventus (and the whole house in general) has turned to shit with performance being non-existent and smelling like a watered down version of the stuff. You’re better off just buying an aventus clone at this point
Leather can have a nice scent, that can take you to certain times in your life. Interestingly, leather is also always a synthetic scent. As a child, I would go into a shop that was half a sweet shop, and half a tobacco shop. I’ve never smoked in my life, but the smell of raw tobacco (not the smoke) immediately takes me back to that sweet shop.
@@Firm-Tofu-King You need to have a look on Google, lots of girls do! Tom Ford makes a perfume called Tobacco Vanille. It’s expensive and highly rated by both men and women. Tobacco is ultimately a flower...
@@Firm-Tofu-King Have a look online, you’d be surprised! People pay hundreds for tobacco scents. People also buy leather scents as car air fresheners! You’d be surprised how often you come across this smell day to day.
I think people over the years have become nose blind to creed fragrances…i really don’t think the quality has dropped at all. I took a 3 month break from aventus and came back to it, my 2020 batch was as strong as I remember it being back in 2012
