CCR rocks ....never seen the rain, fortunate son, Bad moon rising , Down on the corner ,Run through the jungle , sooo many legendary songs , one of my very favorites 💯💯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
you can keep adding with, I Heard it Through the Grapevine, Proud Mary, Cotton Fields, As Long As I See the Light, Who'll Stop the Rain, Lo Dive, Green River.
The awesomeness of John Fogerty’s voice was off the charts! He got his vocal influences from some of the best...Wilson Pickett, Howlin’ Wolf, Little Richard. It’s been said that there were folks, black and white, that swore up and down that the band were all black men, because of the vocal ferocity and the groove. But, it don’t matter the color, just that it’s GOOD!!
My Dad had a "moonlighting" second job back in the day to help make ends meet .................anyhow; he listened to radio a lot during this time. Dad told my Mom..........you gotta hear these n-----rs on the radio...............they're great. Mom did a bit of research and found out they were white guys from Commyfornia!!! He couldn't believe it!!!!!
Creedence is incredible! John Fogarty is one of the greatest singers! He has so much grit to his voice. Fortunate son is one of my favorite songs by them. It's been featured in many movies but always reminds me of Forrest Gump when I hear it.
I'm 70, was 16-17 when this came out &, yes, of course, I STILL listen to this music! That time period for music I would never trade for anything! SOMEDAY NEVER COMES, HEY TONITE are 2 other songs that make me long for my youth, sometimes. But, the best to you and much success!♡
"Proud Mary" was written(lyrics) by John Fogerty and "Covered" by Tina Turner. This song is, of corse, CCR's cover of the Screamin' Jay Hawkins song. Love watching John play his Rickenbacker guitar!! Love the sound!!
caseydog3 I know right? Thought it would go on and on.. Boy was that a drop into harsh reality when it all ended. Now look at the total twerking pablum we have now. 🤮
Fogarty Was directly responsible for that. His vision for the songs was what was put on the vinyl. He drove the band to perfection because that was the only way he knew how to make music. Unfortunately, his bandmates didn't see it that way and that was greatly the cause of the breakup of the band so early.
This was recorded live at Woodstock, it was about 1 AM thats why it's so dark.. I celebrated my 19 birthday for all 3 days at Woodstock. Drove all the way from Alaska to Bethel NY...One of the highlights of my life.. still have my 3 day pass and a twin tie died moon and peace symbol twin bedspread...Finally was Jimmy Hendrix sing the Star Spangled Banner to end Woodstock...great reaction as usual.......
Just stumbled upon your channel yesterday and now I'm obsessively watching your reviews, especially the blues rock. I love how real and honest you are, but also kind and FUNNY. Creedence is one of my all-time favorite bands. You'd love everything they play, including Heard it Through the Grapevine and Susie Q. When you get the chance, you should also definitely do a reaction to Samantha Fish, blues and rock guitarist/singer (I Put a Spell on You... or really anything she does) AND Sister Sparrow (Freight Train and Dr. Feelgood), another bluesy rock band. Both MINDBLOWING, and if you love Beth Hart just as much as I do, I think you'll LOVE them. Also, Jennifer Hudson singing Aretha Franklin's (Ain't No Way), UHH-MAZING!
These guys sound like there from the south, and the Bayou, but they're really from Northern California. Great Band, John Fogerty got soul, and can really play that guitar. This is a top 3 CCR song. So many hits by this Band in the 70s. Thanks
When 'best of' CDs became popular in the 90s and early 2000s it was common do have 20 songs by an artist, with well over half being just filler from previous albums. CCR , Three Dog Night, and Neil Diamond were among the few artists from The 60s and early 70s that could put 20 songs on a best of CD and every one was a stone cold chart topper and great song.
If you want a GEM of a blues song from John Fogert with Credence Clearwater Revival, do a reaction to," Born On The Bayou ". Trust me. It will take you instantly down to Cajun swamps and Creole nights in....LWEEZIANA ~~~ 👍
One of my favorite songs and my personal favorite rendition of this song. Everything about is is on point. Guitars, Bass, Drums and of course powerful vocals
U can't go wrong with good ole CCR!!! Currently have one of their albums in car stereo in which my 9 year old daughter and I turn the volume up and sing along!!! All their music are great to listen to, but just to same some, Have you ever seen the rain, fortunate son, bad moon rising, born on the bayou, lookin out my back door, I heard it through the grapevine, down on the corner, Susie Q, midnight special, some day never comes, proud Mary, travellin band, "good golly miss molly", have you ever seen the rain, Ooby dooby, who'll stop the rain, sweet hitchhiker
You can hear the black blues influence in his music. He took those sounds and brought it into some of the most impressive rock and roll. John Fogerty one of the greatest ever.
In Fogerty's autobiography, Fortunate Son, he spends a great deal of ink giving full credit and honor to the many black artists he grew up listening to and trying to emulate.
It was during the Viet Nam era... around 1968. Going to college to stay out of the war. Later I was drafted and was glad I for it. College was depressing and dreary.. for me, deranged. Everything was going wrong with many people's lives in the country. There I was. I think I was sitting in the driveway.. My car radio was on.. Then this song came on hearing it for the first time. I was stunned by what I heard.. to hear such excellent musicianship and class... I said to myself... It was refreshing to hear that someone still had lots of life in them. CCR cooked, and then served it raw!
John Fogerty is Creedence Clearwater Revival. The band was tight back then with an awesome rythm section. John is the multi-talented singer, songwriter, lead guitar player extraordinaire.
Watch out for the typical’70s soundtracks of theirs that are in every Vietnam era movie. Check out Green River, Keep on Chooglin’, go ahead with Proud Mary
One of the legendary bands. You'll like all their stuff a lot but I bet you'll LOVE "born on the bayou". He pretty much sings like that all the time though
- "I'd Love To Change The World" would be great but I think there's a better song on that album, in my opinion. The whole album is actually great but "Let The Sky Fall" is truly wickedly beautiful. It is slow paced but it jams. It's one of my favorite love songs.
Tom Waits - Come on up to the house. I know you like gravely grit voices and Mr Wait's is literally the Gold standard of this. His voice is unique like no others, bob dylan once said his idol was Waits. His songs have been covered by rod stew, the ramones, tim buckley, queens of the stone age, the eagles, johnny cash, tori amos, screaming jay hawks, hootie and the blowfish, meatloaf, primus, bob seger to name a few. He's made 10 appearances on david letterman's show, he is in the rock n roll hall of fame yet he's virtually unknown to the public. Ledger's performance of the joker was highly inspired by mr waits from the 80's. Truly a special voice that cannot be mistaken for anyone else.
Well ain't this sumpin'! A black guy groovin' with my boys from the 70s! What a trip! That's what I love about the TSR Gang! Diversity! Do yo' thang bro! Loving every minute of it! You making my hair grown long again!
ThatSingerReactions I know YOU do! That’s why you’re my favorite Reactor! You want a trip ? Go to the Singer which you thought Dimash. You need to React to this Chinese dude called Hua Chenyu (Pronounced like Watching You). Listen to his song called, “Nunchucks.” It’s not K-Pop!!! You love his energy! Coming from a blue eyed soul brother, trust me!
Yeah from about '68 tp '71 these guys were right on top. John Fogerty, a California boy who was coming up with this band in San Francisco's mid/late 60s psychedelic scene, reached to Americana roots for his inspiration -- Blues, R&B/Soul, Country -- and oh yeah the Swamp. He sang like no one else, played terrific guitar, and on top of that wrote most of their classic hits (including "Proud Mary"). Sucks to be that talented. It was fun watching you take it in!
Wow having grown up with CCR this is the only album that I don’t have in fact I’m ashamed to say don’t remember them doing this song. I should have known John would do it great.
Yeah incredible vocal performance from Fogerty (and the band in general) - chills every time. Glad you appreciate it. Also, dude, your voice is fantastic.
So many of their songs are in movies relating to the Vietnam War. Run Through the Jungle, Fortunate Son and I believe there are others. The were incredible, love them!
there's a video on here of an amazing blues guitarist on here named Samantha Fish. she does what it's called in the title...a smoldering version...of this song. and that she does. it's insanely good. her vocals and guitar just steal the show.
I've been a fan of CCR since they first began singing. I don't think they've ever done a song that I didn't like. I'm glad you enjoyed them and I hope you'll react to more of their music. Cheers, Steve
I was raised on CCR. My dad played it all the time but never this song. I love this song now. You should do a version of it because u can nail it with vocal fry.
I really liked the way they did Midnight Special. They put some soul into it. Creedence was sort of hard-core rock with a twinge of country to it, back before rock began to infiltrate country music.
This is gonna be one of your deepest rabbit holes, my friend! John Fogerty’s writing, voice and guitar combo are among the greatest in rock. Be sure to react to “ Born On the Bayou” - he practically invented swamp rock, too. Genius! He wrote Proud Mary- yep, the one Tina Turner made her own!
Had to go back to this one. It's been about a year since you tapped into CCR. I am going to request CCR "As Long As I Can See The Light" on your Patreon.
Proud Mary is an original song by this band. John Fogerty is the lead singer, lead guitar player, Lead Vocals. lead song writer. CCR is / was a very tight band. John Fogerty wrote Proud Mary and give it a shot.
Nick !!! I swear you sound just like John Fogherty ! I had watched this reaction a while back but I just had to comment on how much you sound like John . CCR is one of my favorite bands of all time .
