No wonder the brother wanted to "stick to their schedule" if he knew Patrick's idea of adequate caving equipment is just a lighter, hammer and the shittiest flashlight available.

beyond the rough gameplay, I think the biggest mistake this game makes is showing the spiders before you get the camcorder. If the camcorder had come first, it would have helped build tension, instead you're made to watch footage that tease the look of the spiders after you've already seen them.

The 1989 "Dracula: Live from Transylvania" is actually a real documentary. It's one of my favs. I was 8 years old when it came out on Halloween in 89'. I watched it with my mom, and to this day I watch it every Halloween. You can find it on RU-vid and it is well worth a watch. It's dated now sure, but it talks about the origins of Vlad the Impaler and Bram Stoker writing the novel Dracula. George Hamilton stars in it. It's campy and fun, but has true info about "vampires" from mid evil times. (People that really drank servants blood for immortality). Seriously it's great. :) So cool the dev put it in the game like this. :)

I believe "Cassiculus" means "cobweb" or "spider's web", something like that. Once again great game and great playthrough!

This game probably should've been titled "Stultus." What kind of numpty goes spelunking in a wild cave, alone, without the proper gear?? 😂 Happy "no return" vertical passage diving.🤣 Plus, giant spiders...

Chris: "We cannot swim." Me: "Well, that makes sense, you're carrying a bloody sledgehammer." Character: Gets knocked into the water, swims just fine without dropping the sledgehammer. Me: "Well, then."

The etymology of Cassiculus is cassis which means net. So I'm guessing it might be referring to a spiders web as they are in creepy cave system.

This was a strangely fun game that still needed a lot of work and fine tuning. Weird. Like why couldn't you bash in a spider with that superman strength or why couldn't you just relight the torch using a wall torch or why the lighter only had one use or maybe adding a rope to the climbing and drop sequences so it made a little more sense. Mixed feelings but still kinda fun. Good job Chris.

So, uh, spoilers I guess. But what is this large population of man-sized spiders supposed to be eating, exactly? Besides the occasional spelunker.

I have arachnophobia and I thought I can handle this but the skittering, jumping, and big mofo at the end has me freaking 🫣😱😵💀

It's hard to be scared of any dangers in that cave if the main character could just rip them apart with his inexplicable super strength.

Ummm yeah this game was not helping with my aracnofobia at all 😅

Personally, I love me some cave-related horror, always good. Spiders no longer scare me these days, but they work well enough. And discovering the depths of the cave felt decently atmospheric. However, I cannot say that I am fond of the logic at play - of which there is little to none. Warning, about to nitpick here... Sure, say what you want, it is just a game after all. But one can only suspend their disbelief so far. Spending a night at the cabin felt pointless and did not advance the story at all. Yeah, screw my missing friends, I am just beat. Next, breaking massive stones with just a few swings and jumping into deep holes without any sort of rope. I mean, come on. I get it, we want to get to the horror as fast as possible, but ignoring basic logic just takes you out of the experience. Instead of massive rocks, let there be a small passage that one might be able to clear with a hammer. Have a rope or ladder or something - anything. Such details can go a long way. In addition, how did that first big spider not spot the light in any sort of way? The blind sort, by chance? Wasn't really mediated that way. And man, really sad that the spiders, which are known to fit through almost any opening, cannot follow the protagonist through holes which he himself can fit through. I know, being harsh as usual. But the game is far from bad, I quite enjoyed the experience. Remember, the pointing out of flaws only serves to make room for improvements. Beyond the things I mentioned above, the atmosphere - as aforementioned - was decent. Good sound design and some pretty neat cutscenes as well. No strong feelings on the ending, however. Your typical downer one. Could have been over way faster if the spiders had ever followed through, rather than giving up the chase. But there I go, sounding harsh again. This is a decent foundation to build upon, so keep on trucking. And that would be all for today. Cheers, the lot of ya.

This was like watching a horror movie. Like, what not to do in a horror situation. What I'd do to be able to swing that damn hammer around like Thor.

I wish so hard for the end you fight the horde with the sledgehammer, and the ending is give up, fight but lose, or go crazy and kill every spider so you can get out of there, basically cementing the legend of the spider slayer, hammer guy 🔨 😡 Man the ending was so 😢

I'm hearing at lot that Australia have really large spiders 🌏. I hope I am wrong about that and It's just the Internet being the Internet because I would like for it to be the first place I travel to outside the US if I get the chance someday. And this is coming from a person who is terrified of spiders especially really BIG, LARGE, MASSIVE spiders.

Well that ending was..... disappointing. I do get annoyed with the games where you go through all of that jist to die at the end. Once in a while is okay, but nearly every time is a bit much. Regardless, it's always enjoyable watching you play. Also, nice haircut.

I deal with arachnophobia so this was an interesting watch. 😂 Not bad! Would have loved to see the sledgehammer used as a weapon but I can understand why it hasn't done. Also this gave me flashbacks to the paramite temple in Abe's Oddysee! I found myself wanting a chase sequence because of the memory, lol.

Pretty fun game, honestly your commentary is always the best part ! But the ending is kinda disappointing, honestly with your character's strength, at least have an epic fight with the spider !!!!

I just finished watching 1990's arachnophobia and reading about the giant Congolese Spiders so this was a treat!

Impressive cave, really like the lighting.

The hole is big enough for a person, but the way spiders move and have to use their legs... it's possible the spider can't fit through narrow passages like a person can.
