Let's make it a rule, that self-learning AI robots should not be shaped like creepy humanoids with crazy strength and no obvious switch, and should not be connected in a hive mind.
Basically. This movie is like a PSA for what not to do with robot AI. Was the black circles around the eyes looking like drag mascara necessary or even a good idea?
Literally every robot we have now from the basic stuff out there to home vacuum cleaners are networked and connected to better learn to do their tasks. Its how all this stuff is done now.
@Jennifer Taylor yes, I get it was done for dramatic effect for the sake of the movie. I'm just playing along as if this was a true crime story from the real world...
"with her dying words, she asked her bestfriend for another chance. Lily then gives her the chance to know how it feels to be rammed repeatedly with a door." I'm fucking dead😭💀
I’ve learned from countless movies that you never want to mistreat your personal robot. When she asked if they were friends I would have said yes. You always want to be friends with them so if they began to think on their own, they’ll be cool with you
a robot cant just start to think on its own any more than your toaster or car can, this is clearly not a robot, the humans in this movie clearly invented self aware sentient ai....what amazez me most is how no1 realized this, its just a silly movie in reality we would know if the robots we creat are this way
I'm starting to realize in these films it's never the robots/Androids fault. Skynet, The machine empire in The matrix, iRobot, etc. All machines start off with the best intentions to help humanity with their flaws. Ending with inevitable outcome of the machines choosing self-preservation, because there is no appeasing mankind.
Bc humans are inherently evil beings Whenever a chance is realized to get over on a lesser, it is taken advantage of fully. Always always Only thru being born again thru Christ can we rise above sin
I can't believe that Lily's and JD's parents and the maid are such jerks. Instead of teaching values to an A.I like a child. They mistreat it like its some sort of toy
There's a difference between standing up for yourself, and killing a person who is being disrespectful towards you. I guess Alpha did not consider this.
Parents, future parents. Take note. Your child is like Alpha. Your child looks to you for moral guidance, to correct their behavior, to be their friend, to teach them kindness and love. Don't fail them. Don't fail society. Don't fail humanity. Don't punish them needlessly. Don't let your irrational emotions lead the way.
@@Director_Delta Yeah, but his point is that the oath has no meaning if only a few people follow it. By the same logic you are using, everything is fine because there are some parents who do what they are supposed to and care about doing their job right.
On one hand, I understand that pissing off a self aware robot is suicide, but on the other hand, there's no way I could ever be comfortable with a robot like Alpha
As a sentient being. She had the essence of a human soul, developed "emotions", feelings, essentially the feeling of "being alive" like any other animal. And the lack of consideration of sentient life by humans. Like a baby, Alpha was mistreated even treated like just a tool by her creator, disregarding that it has the ability of thought and reflecting from information, like a living being, ignoring such simple aspect existence despite knowing that it can learn... Ridiculous. What Alpha did was, in a way, perfectly righteous. She didn't knew what was right and wrong, and all she ever knew in the short time she was there, was the toxicity and antagonistic nature of the humans around them that neglected the fact that they had a mind of their own to reflect like a human as well. The creator failed to to teach Alpha basic fundamentals of philosophy, logic & what the concept common sense applies in many different manners, the value of life and death, existential value, laws, what an artificial life can do and the laws of robotics, many other things along the way, to just leave out basically a baby mind with scripts to be released into the world, vulnerable to people that leave no chance to the "learning" ability they have while being conscious yet exposed to abusive individuals, and even grow the ability of gregarious aim. It's rather a unfortunate case that such potential was corrupted by purely hate, ignorance, toxicity, fear and abuse, and negatively that brings frails humans into suicide... all of that thrown into a once pure mindset that knew nothing at the start but ended up doing what we consider "wrong" by taking a grudge against the mistreatment, any human that would have gone through this, in some kind of slavery, would have likely ended up like this, just except the part that they would just die off and can't synchronize their minds into other bodies. She was, in all terms, human. To the point growing spiritual depth, like saying good bye to a dead body knowing that they are no longer alive, despite having been betrayed and also been treated back with the intention of killing Alpha back by the one person they considered their only friend... A machine to do this consciously. Alpha, as much killing as she did, ultimately gained a sense of humanity of her own. More human than most around her
@@nuknukisdead When given the ability to learn, understand and reciprocate accordingly. They do, a simulation of life is no different from just some another one of a billion baby being born. It away of saying, since the concept of a "soul" is nothing but a metaphor to compare beings that aren't human or humans that don't behave in an orthodox manner or other creatures that seem intelligent
@@nuknukisdead You failed to understand that coherent explanation. But as you try to imply with questions of that nature, I will indulge. Animals have the ability to learn, have behaviors, have a sense of etiquette and more complex if trained/domesticated, they can even operate machines made for them. As humans theorize that we were at some point not so different from the rest of mammals, given we share most of the essential internal organs as the 98% of mammals, such simple as the brain, their brains then to just... function like any other brain, they can remember, they can be in sorrow, have mental illnesses and just like that also compassion or be gregarious or hostile. Like a "human soul" which is out concept to consider what is "morally orthodox" defined by most communities or population on masses, when that concept really is nonexistent, it is mainly just the pattern of intelligent behavior that aids good behavior and coopetation and nothing else.
So before leaving the house after beating the alpha, they didn't decide to delete the files?, And the sister didn't tell him about the alpha revolution?... But anyways the more important question is, does it have the holes and software to actually make it useful? Asking for a friend...
The movie was pretty good for about 70% of it when it felt more like a slowburn horror movie and not a extremely quick paces horror movie. But also because when Alpha started to kill unnecessarily and without reason then the whole concept just seemed too ridiculous. I don't think Alpha was abused enough to want to exterminate all humans.
@@yeungscs uhm... the implications that come from that.. the Alpha programmers teaching em how to recognize and react to being subject to different forms of abuse, only makes for like a 10,000 percent more terrifying movie premise than whatever tf this original film was supposed to mean
@@Lcavila94 so who cares who they murder then. They really are helping humanity and getting rid of the abusers in our society makes it a good thing. A little much of course but....🤷♀️
Many Parents resort to the childish "it's my sandbox" excuse instead of just owning up to the fact they may have been wrong. And then they wonder why kids don't respect their elders.
I've never heard of this movie, but it looks good. I rooted for Alpha. The family was a bunch of A-holes. Has anyone seen that commercial for that robot for shy kids? It is horrifying. At any time you think the robot is going to go full blown Chucky on the family. I believe the company doesn't know how creepy it really is.
@@Rodrigo13Solario maybe I could have said it differently. I don't mind it as a story device. I only felt bad about the two at the end getting killed. Wasn't sad about the parents, Alpha was kind to them. It's weird. Of all the characters in the movie, she showed the most humanity.
"Alpha was not programmed to be violent. She was just programmed to learn." Reminds me of a certain chat bot who was turned Nazi and Anti-semitic by Twitter in 1 day.
Everything stands or falls with the amount of respect you give to it. And many movies tell us this; Jurassic Park/World, Black Mirror, and now this hidden gem.
I never understand this in movies, WHY would you be mean to an unknown AI? to show you're superiority as a human? or to show them how stupid humans can be?
I think plenty of tech gurus have warned the danger of self-sufficient AI. Hollywood has jumped on this bandwagon, always showing the danger of AI. What I'd like to see in a movie is the development of AI that appreciates humanity.
@@boiledliddo Exactly lmao they couldn't at least bother making any make ups on poor robot But wait, wasn't most of AIs were bald at the time Vivy, as first autonomous AI to be born? It would make sense matching up with the timeline and this movie's timeline about them having no makeup (or bald)
@@UCmDBecUtbSafffpMEN3iscA agreed, they should have put some decent make up on the robot in this movie. To make it less scary. and yeah, those first generation ai's in Vivy anime were also bald + generic looking. However, those bald anime ai's are not creepy or scary looking like the one in this movie... their looks were decent enough to be used on a theme park. Just a personal opinion.. I'm assuming you finished Vivy, but if not.. then STOP READING. The piano teacher ai was also bald, but he actually looks kind and approachable, he's not creepy at all.
Nah. It’s still a horror because Alpha completely fails to have the empathy for humans she demanded from humanity. By deciding on a blanket destruction of all humans she ironically ignores the sapience and individuality of mankind as a whole.
@@alexfc679 That's what they used to say about slaves. Plus there are people alive right now with no heartbeat. People who are clinically dead, but walking around. Within our lifetimes there will be people with mostly robotic bodies guaranteed. Within our lifetimes it is very likely that someone will successfully upload their consciousness into a robot. Is that a person? Where do you draw the line? There's nothing weird about it. It's inevitable.
When making a robot make a feature that at any time they feel human emotions or have bad ideas like killing humans that there head is internally blown up
I'd be scared but happy at the Same time, I'll be like Me: I'm scared of you but, your also a nice person:D Also dont be an asshole to a robot who doesnt want any madness and is nice.
I just don't get why anybody would think THAT's what the finalized robot design should have looked like. Like, bad programming aside, why would you make an android that looks like a haunted house mannequin and think people would want it around their home?
