Through the use of powerful nano CT scanners, scientists can blast pieces of amber with thousands of x-rays, enabling teams of researchers from around the world to analyze and observe extinct organisms in three dimensional space.
Dr. Hans Larsson, Canada's chair for vertebrate paleontology, explains the implications of Nano CT technology as it pertains to the study of Cretaceous organisms found in amber mined from the Hukawng Valley in Northern Myanmar.
