I love Elounda. Kanali serves great food. I recommend it. The best accomodation & best view is from Elounda Heights, at the top of a hill, reached from the square. They also have superb food.

You mentioned sunken city , this was the sunken city of Olouss which is just out to sea from the canal bar. If you dive there you will see old pillars from ancient buildings. Geraint.

Next to the tavern is a narrow passage to the main street, where the house of Alan Haldane (protagonist) used to be. I would really appreciate it if you could show me(us) on occasion. the city Olous is the name and Researchers believe that the city was submerged due to a local shift caused by an earthquake sometime around the 2nd century AD. it was exactly where you showed us. just thought id share :)
