FYI, you stated Elafonisi has the only sandy beach in Crete but actually in Chania (the very city you're in) the beach is sandy for miles and miles and miles. You guys were staying in Old Town but if you just go 5 mins, 10, mins, 25 mins you have nothing but sandy beaches.
That's not crete mate I'm from Greece China island is different it's not part of crete it's a separate island she's lieing bicth from Marcus in australia no comment needed or like.
thank you! This is so helpful. I’ll be going to Chania at the end of March. Your video is posted in October, but is that the month you traveled? I’m just a little worried it’ll be too cold to get in the water when I go.
Thank you Dana for such a great little vlog. I have been going to Crete for many years as my cousin has lived on the island for 20+ years. It is so nice to see other people's take on my happy place. Chania really is a special place if one is interested in architecture, food & drink.
Such a great video! My husband and I just booked a trip to Chania, and we are flying into Heraklion. Can you share the name of the transfer company you used? Did you use it both ways or take the bus back? If you used the bus I would also like to hear about that experience. Thanks in advance!
I'm a new subscriber. I've been binge watching your vacation videos. You've been to some incredibly beautiful places! And, all the food looks amazing. I'm 53, single, with a puppy. I thought I would travel when I got to this point in life. However, my puppy has severe separation anxiety. I don't have anyone to watch her and don't want her to be crated for a week or longer, just because not having me or even knowing where I am would literally torture her mentally. 😔 So, I'm just living vicariously through you and other travelers. 😊
The largest island in Greece, Crete is a diverse and vibrant land packed with ancient ruins, buzzing cities and breathtaking beaches. Many people come here for the sun, sea and sand yet the best things to do in Crete include much more than the standard package vacation
Dana, you are amazing.. I have been watching your videos for 3 night now. LOL - I have some questions that I will address.. heading to Spain, London, France and Italy. What was it that you did not like about Spain?
Thank you Dana I loved touring Crete with you. You are so elegant yet relaxed in sharing these experiences. You have the Best vlog 💓 What is the vodka you & Al stopped drinking😉Are you saying Rocky? Looking to see more & more I'm a Fan😘✌👋
Cefalu is a Greek name Κεφαλί (means heand) and is the part of magna crecia south Italy and Sicily is known as magna Grecia big Greece and have Greek roots and is very similar with the Greece with so many ways so what is this that you mean as a typical Greek island if you think that the Greek islands are only blue and white then you are faulse Greece has also so many colorful places 💛🇬🇷✨if you explore all the Greece you will anderstand .
Hey Dana... Thanks for the video. We will travel tomorrow to west Crete for 10 days. We did the east part just before the Covid. Any other tips that were not in the video..???
Hi Lily! So excited for you!! Enjoy the video and be sure to check out my other videos as well as my blog danaberez.com for my other Positano/Italy posts.
Thank you so much for your vlog. It was so informative. We are going to visit Create and Chania in June. Your video was so helpful for us. Hope you will have fun in your future travels.
Thank you so much for such a great movie! 🙌I’m going to Crete in a few weeks, we’re staying in Rethymnon. What beach do you prefer - Elafonissi or Balos? What beach is most beautiful? 😊☀️🇬🇷
It was truly magical a hidden gem and a nice place to visit outside of the typical Cycladic islands. We needed to have dinner at that table Al made sure we had a nice dinner there
I am going to Crete ( Chania) on October 02 for 7 days .The beaches look challenging to get access there specially with my 82 years old mother . Any Suggestion ? From all the trips in Greece , how would you rate Crete ?
Loved this. Yes Raki is a killer!😆 In Turkey they drink it with everything too, we met a really eccentric boat captain who called it ‘Helicopter Head’ and did a little expression of being mad drunk. He asked us if we wanted to join him, we declined 😆
Raki in Turkey is more similar to Ouzo in Greece and has a aniseed taste similar to Sambuca etc.. The raki in Crete is totally different in taste ,it's made from the pomace of grapes after harvesting . Just the name is the same but a different drink .
It's called Tsikoudia in Crete, and yes different taste. You can get the honey one to take the edge off the bitterness. Still whack the head off you though 🤣
great video! I have already planned our trip there for next summer so that was very helpful. I think you did the same itinerary that we have as well. going to check out your Milos video now.
You’re supposed to sip Raki. Also eating lots of appetizers to soak it while slowly sipping… I’m from Bulgaria and ours is called rakia. Anyways, I love your travel vlogs.
Omg loved as always… but let me tell you I was so excited to see that you had the baklava. Oh my God it looked so good and I’m sure it tasted even better. What excited me more if I ever go are those sweets you bought because I’m a huge sweets fanatic. Crete is definitely a must go destination. I had read somewhere and seen other vlogs that have said the same thing you stated that it is incredibly affordable. Which is definitely a huge incentive.
Yes!! So so affordable, our dinners were half of what we were spending on other islands in Greece. I also really enjoyed the city & being able to get to the beaches!
Really spoiled by your unwarranted comment on this video for information you didn't pay for. Keep it moving if you don't want to look at my pretty face. Be grateful I spent my time, holiday and money making a free video you can watch and make rude comments like this. Think twice next time.
Hey! I’ve just come across your channel. I’ve been contemplating where to go for so long now for a getaway and this video has confirmed it’ll be Crete! Love the chill style of your vids too. Xx
I prefer longer Videos! Everyone is different. You can split it and watch twice. I save up the short Videos and watch two or three at once. Everybody is happy :)
