Crevicing and detecting for gold

Well out here in Nevada it's so cold and muddy I can't get out! Had 6" of really wet snow the other day and a few folks been checking in to see if the roads are good or not seems several other folks are itchin to get out too. Stuck at home again so I thought I'd see what somebody else with gold fever was doing! Lol you did real good Big Brother! I miss detecting the streams in California! That's my summer detecting happy place. ! Good job nice gold! And had time to video too!👍

I don't have any tools yet but I'm just glad to own the mining claim. I have an old cheap Bounty Hunter metal detector I hope will detect lead a couple of shovels...

Hi Gary, another awesome expedition into the golden wilds. That was a very fruitful trip with nice shinies .....3.46 grams of em!!!! At 3.04 on your vid, there is an amazing feature on the right hand side of the creek. Could you please please do a vid on cleaning that one out. Should be bloody unreal in there. In flood that's going to be the drop off point from the God Of Gold. You are really having a very productive winter. We are just trying to survive our summer here, it is freakin hot this year. See folks, ya gotta love it, any ole gold detector can find gold. Kkkkkkk I find lots of pickers in those hair line cracks! Ya just need a hammer n chisle to pop em open. Some are so tight you wonder how the heck did that size gold get down In There? Heating and cooling off coarse. Love to watch. Wishen I was out there too!

Really enjoy your videos , used to live in No. Cal. for around 15+ yrs. , and mostly did dredging in north eastern area 80s & 90s , multiple Yuba rivers , and found my biggest nugget over half ounce near Dutch Flat , my biggest dredge was 4" and had the little Keene backpack on other end of the size . Now back Mn. and hoping to get back there for yrs. now , but with the bs dredging ban , its less incentive . How are you feeling about possible dredging in future - some organizations are saying [ again ] maybe this spring ? Had a fire over a yr. ago and lost most all my tools , carpentry , mechanic etc. , about 1/4 mill. 4 metal detectors [ bought since back in Mn. ] . Thinking of getting a Minelab 800 , only issue to me is only good to about 10 ft. depth waterproof . I seems from watching your videos , you have a shop / store front - if I do get out there , would like to buy you a coffee / bear . Thanks again

Gary! From this video it seems to me there are 3 time segments to consider on a days time spent in this video. 1. Time traveling to the site and back home. 2. Time spent gold paning/hunting w/o detector. 3. Time spent paning/hunting with detector. It also seams that the amount of gold found with the detector was much greater with the detector than w/o, but it's hard to tell due to editing. Would you say the detector use allowed more total (by weight) gold to be found for the time spent compared to w/o duing this trip? It would have been nice to see the detector used over the crevices after first paning them where you didn' t use it first but you didn't show/do that. Cheers.

Hey Gary hoss here from Sierra City! great video but irritating because that seldom happens to me!! but anyway you mentioned when cleaning out that middle crevice that you encountered a target that was draped with moss? can you educate me a little on that subject because I run into that dried up moss alot in my crevicing and always thought it to be a nice holder of the smaller gold? would love to get your thoughts on this subject. it's a pain in the rear to break all that mossy stuff up but I always do and was wondering if it was just a waste of valuable time? but I know I have gotten some flood gold out of some pieces where the gravel is really packed hard with the moss. nothing big but is that a possibility that a nice piece could lodge its way into that moss in wet conditions? or will it just move right through it? or did the moss grow and harden later after the river went back down? also thank you for as always the great informative videos from the who's who of my region!

Great job as always, TT. I was wondering if you knew the Nugget Man? I got to meet him in Michigan a few years ago and he was quite the character. My friend and I got a picture with him and got to hold a couple of his 2-3 lb. clunkers. Sadly, he passed away the next year or so, but it was a real honor to meet him. In the "Best pan" with the packed gravel at the bottom you went to show the gold and touched a piece of gold trying to give perspective with your finger(@14:37) and the finger picked up a piece of gold!!! I hope you got it!

Hey Gary, I just wanna thank you for the great video. I've had a kinda bad week, but when I saw your video notice I had to stop everything I was doing to watch it. You really made my day. I'm glad you didn't lose your drone. Your claim has a lot of good looking bedrock on it. What I wouldn't give to find a place like around here in Alabama.
