Good to hear all the depths & intricacies of the black arm band incident directly first hand from Henry's mouth. As a Zimbabwean & cricket supporter, we were all stunned by this very brave move yet were in full support. Most of us thought it was a bold statement by these young men but felt it was made partially to benefit themselves in being accepted by UK government as political refugees so they could move to & play professional cricket in Uk legally. Unfortunately, it was a profitable move for Andy as history pans out & didn't quite work out for Henry who was a fast bowler but very irratic. Still, *all's well that ends well* .

It's so sad that Zimbabwe is losing these amazing citizens. Sadly, it's still dictatorial.

Shame! You shouldnt have followed flower in this because it cost your life and career. The land belonged to blacks, and rightfully, colonial injustices must have been corrected. You are very eloquent in your Spoken english!

Nonsense! They both represented Zimbabwe with dignity and integrity. The land of any country belongs to the citizens and those who were born there. Race is the hiding place of scoundrels and thieves. They both stood up for the people of Zimbabwe.

@@mendizim I never submitted that their sporting services were in any way wrong.... We agree they served their nation. I differ with you on your position of the land reform saying it was unnecessary. I submit that it was necessary and historical imbalances favouring white citizens that needed to be corrected to balance it out. After all the land was initially stollen by colonial conquest..... If the matter was settled amicably, there wouldn't be a mess as at present.....It needed truth and balance...... Blacks couldn't be perpetual tenants in their country and whites needed just to concede some things.....

@arotogtech How then did taking the land from productive white Zimbabwean farmers benefit the black majority or the country - generally? Especially as the land became unproductive resulting in no maize meal (staple diet) & starvation in the land.

@@patthompson8591 The issue of land surely just not be interpreted only in the context of economical aspects... there surely are other aspects, and one of them is curing land hunger that had starved them. True, the policy resulted in some mess, but there are also plenty of positives... Its fair to say, had the white farmers kept out of politics, and supported the sitting president then, they could have prevented huge losses of the prime land.
