This video proves he is a "CHUCKER"...He even admits his action is outside the guidelines before he adjusted his action and STILL outside the guidelines after he worked on his action with the University in Perth. The ICC even changed the guidelines to accommodate his "CHUCKING" action. So umpires Darryl Hare and Ross Emerson were CORRECT in calling him ..Darryl Hare and Ross Emerson are cricket HERO'S.....

Inconvenient Truth -Did any other country or player outside of Australia complain of his actions>? This was a simple case of Australians unable to play him nor read his action! S they had to get their Unpires to call 'chucking'! Yet when the Australian players were chucking what do you think they did? They sent them to Perth to fix their illegal bowling action and make sure it does not come out in the news!! Now the Australians are crying foul in South Africa because of sledging or you poor Aussies-can start the sledging but can't take when it comes back!

ICC was ruled by west money at that time. They did everything possible to not have anyone come close to Shane Warne as all time best bowler. Even today, many analysts would say Warne > Murali and the only reason they would give is that he had a cleaner action. Not taking anything away from Warne, but Murali is the greatest spinner to ever play the game of cricket. It's a shame, that he had to go through things like this to prove his greatness. Yes right, when they could not read his bowling they started calling him cheat, stripped him down, got analysis done on his arm to find his secret so that their batsman got educated.. I'm sure, aussie and English batsman got such video recording to read and understand his bowling.. Sachin and Saurav played in the same era and played him well without any problems, they never created any ruckus around his bowling action.. aussie cheating at its best.. they always played with 15 players on field when other teams tour australia (11 + 3 umpire's + match referee). Who can forget the infamous LBW out given to Sachin or Steve Waugh getting away with a plumb LBW decision in his final test which helped australia draw final test and level series with india.. Aussies at their best,the best thing known to them.. cheating..

My God, what an amazing analysis!!! Its clearly an 'illusion' that the rotating shoulder and naturally bent arm create together that seem like a chuck, but actually isn't. What a legend! Also, now I feel a little different about the umpires who called him. Murali's action is such an anomaly, it must've first registered as illegal to the naked eye. But they really should've spent time studying him before hand!

because he doesn't release his trick here. He could hide the release-action because of his wrist. He was super accurate about ball control (he doesn't show his accuracy here in this video :D ). He updated release action so late into the bowling. He could decieve batsmen into making wrong advances by his unpredictable choices of bowls. He just broadcasted to his opponents that he cannot be discredited for using an illegal bowling action, but topped it up with a psychological shock to those who where unaware.

This feature was filmed shortly after Murali was reported for an illegal bowling action in a test series against Australia in 2004, he had done the same procedures with members of an Australian University to biomechanically prove that he was not chucking the ball. This is simply the same thing in front of a camera. Mark Nicholas (the presenter) speaks very highly of Murali and was very critical of Ross Emerson’s decision to no ball him, calling it “the most ghastly thing I’ve seen on a cricket field”. Lay off Nicholas, he was helping a great man prove his greatness here. Not humiliating him.

It is wonderful and excellent that Murali can bowl with an elbow cuff under lab conditions. However, when he would get tired in matches, especially at the end of his career in the IPL, he would chuck the ball. The way you contort your arm to bowl a doosra, it’s nearly impossible to bowl it legally without wrecking your elbow. Videos like this show how brilliant he was but it doesn’t mean that there weren’t times that he was chucking. At certain point, it became political so umpires gave up enforcing it.

I met this legend. Humblest person ever to meet. I work at a bank in Sri Lanka. The Great Murali was a client and oneday he visited the bank with his family. I had the chance to see him up close and talk to him in person. I told him how honoured I was to see him in person. His reponse was, "Brother, dont be like this, Im also a normal human being like u." He literary doesnt like being highlighted in public. Trust me. Nobody cant be more humble or kind as a person. I love him not just bcuz hes legendary cricket, best spinner of all time but hes also a man with a very big heart.

I can guarantee every single team from county level to the world stage has studied his bowling - India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, England, Australia etc.. They study everyone. If you dont, you go in at a significant disadvantage. Sri Lanka i bet studied Shane Warne hard to learn his tactics. No one can bowl like him because of how his shoulder and wrist work. The angles stuff from the analyst was rubbish because during Murali's action he is able to rotate his shoulder perpendicular to his bowling action, thats the illiusion of the chucking action. I agree its sad he had to go as far as to be studied by Sports Scientists to prove his innocence. This just shows how good he really is and cements him as King of Spin.

I have the same deformity in my right (bowling) arm caused by a bad break and dislocation when I was in my late teens and it totally ruined my action, meaning that I could no longer swing the ball like I had. I returned to playing cricket again last year after 25 years away and I’m frustrated by the same problem. However, although Mûri is a spinner, watching videos like this has helped me understand my own action and why the grip I’m using isn’t working, as a result of which I’ve made adjustments. Thanks
