I'm not excited about this new change because I feel its a change that wasn't necessary. What I wish Cricut would fix or work on is making shadows for images, fonts and/or phrases. Crafters find all kind of ways around that, but its a lot of work. I wish Cricut would finally solve that issue for us scrappers. But you are still awesome and your videos too. Thanks

Me too I'd rather had them work on bigger print and cut features. For me this was also unnecessary. I really appreciate that Lorrie takes the time to teach us so don't get me wrong but really ....

I’m so glad I subscribed to your forum. In watching you tutorial for beginners, I was wondering why my design space looked different from yours. I just emailed the help desk asking this same question. Then I noticed you just made a tutorial on the changes made to design space on cutting and color. No wonder I was confused. Thank you so much. I am slowly learning.

Great video. Lorrie you are so clear and concise. Thank you. Cricut: These are my personal needed DS changes 1) Change default paper size from 12x12; offer a crop feature rather than slice; maximize # of images per sheet (spend time+ moving images around to minimize # of sheets of material); have primary colors as default color images. As a teacher I cut 10-15 images per session.

DS should really add a stroke line feature so you can add outlines to type and images. I really preferred the options all in one place instead of going all the way right to select then left to change the color. It would be nice if DS made the menus movable so everyone can customize their workspace.

Thanks for your video, you are such a great teacher😊🌷🌷🌷. I was expecting for a different upgrade 😞, like 1)offset, it would be great to have it here rather than use other softwares like Inkscape. I have bought the scan n cut machine because the offset is a great option in that machine. 2) increase the size of paper for printing option to the size of the mats (up to 12x24)rather than to be super limited by the internet browser 3) a knife to cut rather than to slice, that take tooooo much time when you want to create large center pieces. A knife that allow you to cut straight and curve will be a great help. The design space is a very simple software and that is good and I understand the reasoning behind that but unfortunately when you are learning new things ( I don’t consider my self an advance in Cricut at all ) you are limited by the features of the software. We manage to continue using Cricut but it is frustrating that you need to use other softwares, trick your machine to print large image then cut them or even get another machine to get the final result. After your reviews, Kent creation reviews, And my own experience, I’m convinced that Cricut as machine is much better than silhouette hence I don’t want to get that machine only because the software allow me to do those three things that I use and need when I’m using my Cricut. Thanks for passing my feedback onto Cricut. 💐

Wish the DS would not be an online software. It is a pain not talking about the persistent plugin pop up error message that I get on my Mac using Safari. That would be great to have this moved to a desktop offline, downloadable software. This said thank you for your explanation always clear and easy to follow.

Claire Hills RGB color codes are not made by cricut. It’s a universal system used to define colors. You can get the rgb code for any color out there.

Hi Lorrie, Thank you for sharing all this great info! I was wondering when you say that you can cut than print does that mean the cricut machine will print or is that only going to use a pen that you put in it? I have a cricut explore. Is it the cricut maker that prints? I’ve had my machine since 2015, there wasn’t a lot of info on how to use it then so I got a little overwhelmed and quit using it. So now with all these great you tube videos out there I’ve started making things again and I’m wondering if I should up grade to the maker?

Is there a way to remove the cut from print and cut? I am trying to make a tag with writing on it and I want the text and picture to print on the printer and then put it into my cricut to then cut out the tag shape. For some reason I cannot stop it from cutting the text on the tag.

Will someone please help me? I need to mirror/flip an image IN Design Space, not on the mat. I have seen info about Explore, where a person would click edit, then mirror. This is not available now. I have a Maker, and have updated DS. So anyone willing to help is clear: I have an image that faces left. I need it to face right. There are words on both sides of it, so if I wait until I get to the cut mats to mirror, the words will also be mirrored. I want everything on one mat because it will be very difficult to line up the HTV if I cut on multiple mats.Everything I have found for the current DS instructs users to mirror the mat, not the actual image in design space. PLEASE HELP.

Robin Mudd / SimpleDesigns yes you still flatten. This just replaces the printer icon and where you choose print. You still need to flatten multiple layers into one printable layer

Nicolle Underwood first of all I don’t work for cricut and have no control over the software. Secondly, select the tag, select the text and click flatten. Your tag will now cut out with the text printed on it.

Without seeing your layers panel It’s hard to diagnose but if you have it in top of a shape and you flattened the shape and the text together it will not cut the text. It can’t
