Also, I use the 4mil now if you go any thicker, you will have to find a stronger pressure setting, so I suggest going with the 4mil which is what I used in the video.

I used to have a lot of trouble with that to try lighter coats and several coats. Heavier coats tend to bleed under. Also, I use urethane paint instead of water-based, which is a lot easier in my opinion.

Yes I do now. When I made the video I hadn’t learned that trick yet. I do recommend it.

@@reddirtdesigns7021 Nice. Thanks for replying! I just got a Cricut Maker 3 for an outdoor sign project, and so I'll be in the crucible of learning and under a time crunch. You video was helpful to me. (Btw, I'm going to be trying to use reflective highway paint instead of spray paint, because the reviews I read on spray reflective paint were mixed at best. Any opinion there? I want the white letters to *pop* when headlights hit them.)

Not sure never have tried that but I have seen people use a spray adhesive and I have done this and it has worked in the past. Just be careful not to leave any residue on your project. Good to do it on a test piece before doing the actual project. Thanks for watching.

I haven’t tried it yet. But I would think it would work just fine. It will be harder to control, but if you could keep your stencil taped down and do a couple passes should work the same as the airbrush. Spray paint just comes out a lot faster So you’d have to be careful. Good luck on your projects and thanks for watching.

I believe you can but I’d have to look it up the mat I’m using is the mat that came with the machine when I got it. The cricut air uses a cut mat in order to work. I’m not really sure on the maker 3 but I would bet you can make stencils with it.

I highly doubt that it would work, but you could always try it, but if I had to guess you’re squeegee would catch but not sure haven’t tried this.

I’ve never done that before, but I would go with a sinner stencil material to make sure it can mold around the nail easier, and I would go with a fully transparent to help line it up! Might even try the amzn.to/3KEEI9g this vinyl is sticky on one side which would be great for keeping it in place. Hope this helps I might do some research and figure it out for you. Heck if I figure it out I might even make a tutorial on it. Thanks for watching!

I’d do that out of card stock. It is much cheaper and cricut vinyl cutter does a good job cutting stencils on card stock

You can cut 7 but I think if you do 10ml you need a deep point blade.

Sounds like you need a new blade or there’s a way you can up the pressure a tiny bit in the pressure settings. Don’t now where exactly without going through the settings but when I get home I’ll check and I’ll get back with you.

OK now that I’m looking when you select make it in the top right corner make sure your dial is set to custom once you’re done with the prepare menu your click continue. Then you’ll be in the make menu where you select your material. Then in the drop down pressure menu, it’s set to default. Click the drop-down menu and select(more) that will apply more pressure to your cut. Hopefully that fixes your problem.

I’ve never done 5 mm but you might play with the settings and get it to work I prefer 7 mm myself works really well and a Cricut will cut 7 mm

@@reddirtdesigns7021 ..im new to all this. I got the thickness from my 50 star stencil is only 2mm thick. I thought it might be thick be it's not very flimsy.
