@@CorinneBlackstoneI’m glad this was so thorough. I think my HTV needs more heating timing though because at 305 for 10 seconds, I find a lot of spots not heated. But this is one of the most extensive walkthrough. Appreciated.

Best tutorial I've seen for screen printing with vinyl! This may actually be a better project for me than HTV direct on shirts since it's reusable. I've been too nervous to try any htv or vinyl cutting so far. But this idea really appeals to me! Thanks for being so real and personable!

I know it’s trial and error, but I ended up with goopy paint on my shirt. Not enough pressure maybe. I tried again and used a small paintbrush size squeegee and applied a lot of pressure and it came out better. The large squeegee would be better since I have 50 shirts to do and my image is large.
@CorinneBlackstone

Yes more pressure you want to make sure you don’t have a ton of paint left on the screen when you pull it off

I've tried several stencils and size of screen, but still have some adhesive bleeding. I have a heat press, so I'm not moving it when pressing. The design I'm trying to do has very narrow lettering (1/8") and the bleed almost totally covers that stencil area. Any ideas?

Question on ink. If the ink is water based then how does it hold up thru many washings of the t-shirt? Thanks
@CorinneBlackstone

Holds up perfectly through washings it’s made to dye the fabric. Plus you heat set it to make it permanent. Acrylic paint is water based too but if you get it on your shirt it’s not going to come out either

You wouldn’t want to place this on the front of the screen as running the squeegee over the htv can cause it to life and ruin your project. When you remove the mesh from the stretcher, then put it back on and re stretch it, do you ever have trouble after multiple times getting it straight? What I’m getting at is does it become warped? I don’t want my letters to look at all wavy. Thank you!

So if I want to use multiple colors and want to place them next to each other do I have to make the design a little bigger or does it not matter. Have you ever done that with this type of screen? I could not find it in your list

You could yes There are a couple ways to do it depending on what works best for you. @@CorinneBlackstone You are familiar with the software, your files, and everything you mentioned about said files. Made zero sense to me. My brain "switched off" at that point. I am familiar with several computer programs, and for me to try to make someone follow along, at a pretty good clip, about a program they have no experience in would be an unreasonable expectation on my part. It's like trying to understand cockpit instrumentation, before taking off, in a few minutes. Unreasonable. But the monkey-see-monkey-do stuff was helpful. Anyone can mimic that. So, my issues with RU-vid is that the step-by-step how-to on the most critical part, the development of the actual images, is woefully inadequate. I have decided to use Coreldraw for my images creation. Until the software is mastered, nothing else matters. Thanks.

@@anthonycantu8879 well since this design was not created by me there of course would be no step by step on doing that. It’s simply uploaded to design space and resized.

@@anthonycantu8879 also I have hundreds of videos and many of them are made for the beginner who has no clue how to use cricut design space but I can’t make every video that simple and detailed or videos would be hours long. I would recommend looking at some of the videos in my cricut for beginners playlist to help you better understand design space

@@CorinneBlackstone I have a friend who bought a cricut machine. It's main use is collecting dust. I understand what you are saying and I trust you understand my point. Screen / silk screen printing isn't rocket science, and that's a good thing. I'll pursue my own path, but thanks for your video. There is always something to learn from anything!

Thank you for the video. But I have one question , can you reclaim that stencil or you need to buy new frame every time you need a new design?
@CorinneBlackstone
@CorinneBlackstone 2 года назад
As shown in the video you remove the screen then replace it with the design you want to use using the splining tool. You use the same frame just change the screens

Can you use plastisol inks with this method? Would it withstand the cleaner if you want to change ink colors?

You don’t use htv. You use permanent vinyl if you want to remove the stencil

If you have a small heat press, can you iron on directly to the framed mesh (i.e. not taking it off at all)? Thanks a billion 🙏

@CorinneBlackstone 2 года назад
@@avaonalee possibly but you’ll need o be extremely careful not to over press

Any tips for getting the vinyl to stay on the screen without lifting and getting wrinkles ?
@CorinneBlackstone
@CorinneBlackstone 3 года назад
well I used HTV so this doesn't lift or wrinkle but make sure you are allowing enough pressure and pressing time on the screen. If you are using adhesive be sure to burnish really well

I don’t know if this has already been asked but I already put my stencil on my screen and everything. It’s all ready to go. Except, I used regular permanent vinyl instead of HTV and now I’m scared to print because I don’t know if I can wash and reuse the stencil if it’s not heat pressed. Has anyone tried washing a screen with permanent vinyl and did it fall apart or were you able to keep it together?
@CorinneBlackstone
@CorinneBlackstone 2 года назад
You cannot wash and reuse the stencil with permanent vinyl it will come off in the water.

Do you have to clean your screen off after every t shirt?
@CorinneBlackstone

If you are not going to do the shirts one right after the other yes. You cannot and should not allow screen print ink to dry on the screen
