just found this going to get my Cricut material pack tomorrow and hurry home to take out my marker (out of the box) and get this project started first one on my new toy so excited, thank you for this great project and taking time to help newbies like me
Sure! Do you want to cut it out on the Cricut Maker? I probably wouldn't start the new series until January, to give us all a little break over the holidays...
Absolutely! Snap Mat is part of the Design Space App. Right now it is only available on iOS devices (iPhone, iPad, etc) and not Android (Samsung, etc). But, they do have plans to get it to Android users. What Snap Mat does is allow you to take a photo of your mat right in Design Space. In the mat view, it allows you to see the photo you took, and exactly position your cuts. I have detailed photos and screen shots showing how it works in this post where I cut tags: 30minutecrafts.com/2017/09/halloween-treat-bag-tags-and-how-does-cricut-machine-work.html I'm so glad you are enjoying the series! It has been a labor of love to put together!
I found this after watching another video! I'm finishing up block 3 today. Can I turn the marker off? I'm using a 1/4 in foot and it takes so long to draw the lines. I only put the pen in once.
It depends which pieces you are using. They have some cartridges specifically for quilting that do have the seam allowances built in. But their standard shapes do not. These files that I designed I have put the 1/4" seam allowance on already.
@@deborahholub8950 the maker does not have a slot for physical cartridges, but they have been loaded into design space. You can search for designs by keyword, or look under the "cartridge" section and find whole collections of images that they still call cartridges. So yes, the maker does not take cartridges, but there are still "cartridge" design collections.
@@deborahholub8950 any of the existing quilt patterns in Design Space should have the seam allowance already on all the pieces. They won't always draw it on the way these files do, but it should be calculated into the cut size.
