I’ve just finished it myself and gonna read it again, I think I missed a lot since I was reading it sporadically(it took me a month) whereas it should’ve taken me a week really,I wanna absorb it properly the next time. Many people have said that the book changed their lives/views,but I didn’t see anything connected to a life changing experience in the book, which I suspect I missed. A great book it is.

@@Rixoonify you may find a piece of you while you are reading because -idk if you love to question life in anyway you might think- this book really reveals it and it was amazingly written there are also some wise saying. All i could say for this book is if you don't understand the message between lines read it again :) if you dont understand again wait for like some years, wait for sth that u will have been through hardly and ready to got the message. All the classic books are like this. If you dont understand them the problem is you not them. Read all the classics and see yourself becoming a more wise man

@@Tlhakxza It wasn't life-changing for me either, but I understand its importance. I think nowadays psychological stories are too common, we see them in films and books and theater, even in music, but that was not the case back in those days. That said, I do think Raskolnikov's character is one of the best psychological portraits of guilt I've ever seen.

As a literature student i have read many novels of many authors and times some of my favorites include 'Mill on the Floss', 'Hard Times' and of course 'Crime and Punishment''. i read crime and punishment some 3 or 4 years back and whenever i hear the name of the novel i get chills its like the whole life of Raskolnikov come and goes in a flash and i say to myself what a novel that was. The novel shows the power of true love can do anything....imagine if there was no character called sonia then what would would have happened to the Rodion Raskolnikov......We all need someone who will be sonia to us....

before the confession of his crimes Raskolnikov suffered but this suffering didn't stop in Cyberia for a while . but one day when Sonya visited him , he hugged her and started crying om her feet . he fainally got to the salvation this is important theme in the book. some people think that as soon as you will get Christian you will feel good . but it's not always so . you get tested by the faith you chose , and once you can prove that you really are true Christian , than and only than you will feel well to yourself
