This man is one of the best lawyers on RU-vid imo. He's skilled, obviously he knows very well what he's talking about, speaks clearly and even clarifies things. Your English is amazing for not being a native speaker. If you didn't mention, I never would've guessed it was your 2nd(or more, potentially) language. Your only mistake is who's vs whose which are words that us native speakers mix up all the time.

@@monicaconnor4971 No problem. And don't worry about it, we all make them, even those of us who grew up with the language. Just as a quick cheat sheet "who's" is a contraction for who is, "whose" is the possessive. That's a super common mistake though, among people at all levels of English, your English is still amazing as I mentioned in the first comment.

@munstrumridcully
@munstrumridcully Год назад
@@colinwoodruff5292 it depends-- the DCF/S agencies in various states seem to be a collection of messes of inconsistency... In some cases, kids get taken from their relatively stable homes and parents at the drop of the proverbial hat, while in other cases you hear about how the agencies had evidence of/good reason to suspect that abuse is happening (like bruises, hospitalizations, etc..) but nothing happens until it's too late and a kid(s) die(s) and then there's a bunch of finger pointing and blame shifting, but no real reforms. But given the basic research I've done, it does seem that overall, in most cases, Family Courts and DCF/S Agencies seem to try pretty hard to keep kids in their homes, and if that is just not feasible, at least with family. There really does seem to be effort put into not sending kids into state custody, as that isn't good for anyone, least of all the kids, unless the kids are in physical danger and there is simply no family to take them. Just my layman's worthless opinion 😃

Well obviously you missed the fact the man has been in jail for a year so withdrawal would not be a issue. However having a narcissist personality will cause people to behave this way. Just looking who is running for President and his plan to become a dictor, so you never have to vote again. Isn't that wonderful. Obviously you are talking about yourself or someone you know. I find former addicts are the worse in thinking everyone is a addict. I actually had recovery addict with 60 days sober saying I was a addict because I was depentant on a medication, that I take daily as prescribed. I am dependant on my blood medication also, but a lot addicts think you take a control substance you have to be a addict because they abused it and cannot be honest that most people can take a control medication and not abuse it. Addiction is a mental illiness, dependamcy is not addiction, but can be one of the many sign of it. But on it own it is not addiction. Many addict may get off the drug but still have addictive personilty and switch other addiction like gambling. 80% of addicts have underlining mental health issues and they are basically self medicating by numbing their feeling. But people can be jerks without drugs and this guy has been in jail for a year. Also when you are in jail you are around people who do the tough talk etc so you are not around people who are giving sound advice either. 80% of those in prison have a mental illiness.

Many years ago I was sitting in a Waffle House at about 5 AM eating breakfast when I overheard a man calling another man names. The man had appeared before that other man in family court and lost his case. I sit there quietly and ate. I did notice the Judge was not returning words and was also trying to eat. The manager on duty asked the man to leave and he did finally leave. The Judge finished eating and paid his check and left. AS I was out of town it was several weeks before I had a chance to hear what happened. It seems the Judge opened the case back up and modified the child support order and also added some spousal support. Moral of the story? Don't bad-mouth Judges inside or outside the courtroom!
@DominicNJ73
@DominicNJ73 Год назад
Whoever told you that lied. A judge can't reopen a family court matter and modify the terms after the fact unless the other parent requests the matter be reopened and can show cause as to why the motion for support needs to be modified.

@@DominicNJ73 My GF is a family law Attorney that is in the same Law Firm as the wife's Attorney. If I understand the case dynamics that case still had some final business and while the case was basically over the case was not actually closed or a final order entered into the record. In some states, these final orders can take weeks to get into the record. I did make a mistake when I used the words "The Judge opened the case back up" that was an error on my part. I should have said the Judge went back to a still open but final case and made some adjustments. Here is another point. Even if the Judge could not have opened the case up the Judge can still charge you with disturbing the peace and have you arrested. It is always best to just leave a Judge eating breakfast alone!

I've watched a few trials in recent years, and victim impact statements are absolutely heart-wrenching and beyond compare. I've heard little kids give such statements, which is something else entirely. To hear a little kid cry and decree of their loss, it's so powerfully emotional that even I - just a listener - feel pain for them months and years later when I remember. I don't always remember their words, but I can remember their innocent, pain-filled voices. Darrell Brooks is an example of someone who gave no shits about the victims at all. I really wanted to jump through the screen and ...well, educate him, let's say. He was so heartless and disrespectful to the victims who spoke. No amount of respect, empathy, or sympathy on display at all. I think he ended up being sentenced to six consecutive life sentences, plus more. I just don't understand anyone who could mock or just not sympathise with victims. It's weird to me. Such people are wildly messed up in the head. My ex-wife during our child custody hearing “cocked off” like a maniac. Cussing, threatening, and insulting the judge. She has Multiples Sclerosis amd after our second child was born she has multiple flare-ups that did a number on her brain and exacerbated some psychological issues he had, and she developed borderline/histrionic personality disorders, and DID. She however no matter what care she was giving, and even under order from the court to receive psychiatric care, refused and would not seek to get better. Three lawyers back to back withdrew from representing her. The last hearing was via zoom and she was muted by the judge, she obviously kept running her mouth. And while doing that the judge gave her verdict that I got full custody of both our children, with her on,y allowed to have third party professionally supervised (children services) visitation. The kids wanted nothing to do with her, and after three years of that she finally started to seek help, but it’s too late now. Psychiatric issues can cause defendants in any type of case to lose badly if their issues go untreated,

If they're high on the psychopathy scale, treatment's just going to involve them endlessly trying to run rings around whoever's tasked with trying to treat them...while the public purse pays for it all. People who try to persuade you otherwise are either psychopathic themselves, or they've got a vested interest (professional opportunities) in pretending the psychopath is treatable...or, most commonly they're well meaning but naive people who get the charming face of the psychopath that they don't bother putting on for people they can't manipulate. Court systems have been dealing with these personality types for a long, long time.

I genuinely believe America doesn't have a crime or drug crisis, it has a mental health crisis. People are not getting the care they need as children to develop into productive citizens. Some of the adults are not going to change, but can we do something to keep kids from falling into the same cycles? I don't know what the solution is.

@@Aztec339JD trial for me and the world of True Crime . Up until then the only channels I watched were about how to deal with narcissists. I am a RU-vid addict .

I love your commentary! Reminds me of my attorney and me when we were discussing my ex during our constant litigation. Never go up against a physician with 2 diagnosed personality disorders that is successful!
