Have a work (electric) car with a wireles key, any time I open the door without my foot on the brake pedal, it deactivates, and it can't be made ready when the key isn't inside (so it remains on a lanyard I wear all the time, you won't be able to drive it away if I step out). Similarly some motorscooters get turned on from a wireless key, so it's trivial to turn it off and on when you get off or on it...
Dominos Manager here. Those car top signs normally have a GPS in them too, as does the drivers phone. And we can see where the driver is on two separate screens, one for the sign, and one for the phone. Stolen cars are usually recovered within 15 minutes.
@TiffanyTheMost nah. It wasn't. The signs have leds in them connected to a photocell that detects when it's dark. It's on the bottom of the sign. So when he threw it in the back seat, the sign thought it was dark outside and lit up

@@SammiAKATuckertrue HOWEVER there's some caveats! Police know the pizza guys cars in their town.... They have zero issue pulling over a car they don't recognize with a topper on it! Late late night they just know they are just rolling around getting high AF after their shift! After 3am the topper is immunity, there's 4 people on the road at that time, police, closing pizza crew, news paper delivery drivers and drunks who are lost or think they are sneaky! If there's not a topper or the driver isn't sitting on the right side, then light em up cause you found the ones up to no good! 😂

I work at papa John’s as an insider. one of our drivers has had his car stolen on two separate occasions. The second time they left the sign on top which has gps lol

I’ve delivered for all the chains, drivers really don’t carry cash. At most they have $20 cash to make change with but after every delivery that involves cash we drop it in a lock box at the store.
Lol Ive worked nights where hundreds of dollars was in my little man bag but like it was gourmet pizza in Melbourne's wealthiest suburb And yeah you can't really steam from what you can't catch Fastest delivery driver record still not broken but I was fired hilariously when the manger from head office was watching/ learning how we ran so well He legitimately thought we were scanning head office and I was dumping pizza's in the bin I was back within 15 minutes after a triple drop to 3 separate suburbs Like 30 mins was quick for anyone else but I had alleys and parks to cut intersections and lights His reaction when all 3 customers said they'd got their shit and quick and tipped me like a king As my shit eating grin could not be hidden
If you're a responsible delivery driver, then yes you drop your money between runs.. But not every person in America is responsible and thinks about self preservation, now do they? I won't tell tales, but if you've worked at enough fast food joints you know we're not dealing with the best and brightest.. Hopefully every driver follows company policy and drops their money but people make bad decisions every day, right?
@@SuSpInTiOn In my experience that is true everywhere. If you are just doing your job how you are supposed to thats usually enough to be in the staffs upper half. People who actually care about their job and know what they are doing are quiet rare and thats not bound to minimum wages either.
When did you drive? I’d assume nowadays it’s even more rare for drivers to have much $ at all. So many ppl pay and tip online, a lot of places will just leave the food too and you don’t even see them. With the older crowd I bet it’s still very common to have cash deliveries, but the amount of $ on average a driver has is surely much lower than it was even 5-6y ago, let alone 8-10. Robbing a delivery driver nowadays is up there with the lowest ROI robberies lol. One of the lowest rewards, and still incredibly high risk that could put you in jail/prison for decent time.
@@BOnYTB paying with cash is really common with two demographics: boomers and lower socioeconomic classes, especially Hispanics. I live in an area with a huge boomer population and some of them still pay by check, which ranks up there with them paying exact change at the grocery store when I’m in line behind them. Anyway i last worked as an employee right before covid but since then have done some delivery apps.
Company vehicle, probably has Domino’s painted all over it. Cop figured he was legit because those vehicles are licensed and insured, as well as the drivers.
As someone who drives this makes me PISSED! I've had hard times and cops let me go about my business because I am constantly busting my ass. My mom passed away and it's been a rough time catching up, and people like that ruin shit for people like me who have had tragedy happen and I'm scraping by and they leave me be because I'm bringing people food and groceries

Domino’s manager here! It’s a rule to not carry more than $20 cash as a delivery driver at least in our stores in Ontario. It is a safety precaution for getting robbed so if you do happen to get robbed, you do what they say and give them the money and you as the driver are more likely to be safe and also the store doesn’t lose a huge amount of money.
Used to drive for Papa John’s, same rule applied. Now it wasn’t heavily enforced, but I think that’s because every driver had the sense to not take out more than about $20 at a time and leave the rest in the store
Makes perfect sense. This same reasoning is why in my country we transitioned away from being able to pay for bus fares in cash to the actual driver back in 2010-ish. The bus drivers end up being more safe because they never carry money and everybody knows they don't carry money.
😂 only time Domino's drivers had $20 cash when I worked there is when the corporate snitch came weaseling around.... They would ask to see our bank and we would all have the $18 in bills and $2 coin purse in a cargo pocket and our front pockets would be bulged and they would ALWAYS ask what's in our pockets and we'd tell them none of their business and walk away! (I ALWAYS left my key in the ignition and one time they went up to my car (without a topper TOO!) he got in and took my key out of the ignition and when he got out and turned around I ripped my key out of his hand, tossed it on the seat through the open window and told him if he ever touched my car again I would beat his a55 and then call the cops for trying to steal my car and just so you know, I'd make can sure it WAS you before doing so, I said until Domino's is paying my car payment, repairs and insurance they have no say in a damn thing to do with my car! I never needed to show him my bank, tuck in my shirt or do any of their stupid little audit things again as there was never another word spoke between me and him..... When he came in and I was there it was a little nod with a smirk and go about our days! 😂 (I'm a 6ft 250lbs tatted up stocky 30yr old at this time, I had a M -F 9-5 so I really didn't care about the politics bs! I worked 3 shifts on the weekend (Fri. 4-4, Sat.4-4 and sun 10-10and would do avg 65 runs a night to others 35-40, I could make pizzas better/faster than most insiders, able to keep up on ovens on the cut table and not fuk up, could be on phones while folding boxes or cut table AND kept up on dishes as well as replenish make line stock during bar rush when we were getting hammered (pun intended) I was a huge asset to my store and I couldn't stand those corporate little tuff guys so I didn't deal with their snobby sh!t one biy (maybe they are better up there, doubt it but their small guy big ego complex at least in Minnesota was something else! It was ALL of them, I didn't get it!)..... Sorry about the rant, I got over excited 😂 I haven't worked their for 10 years now..... Oh and one of the bulges in my front pocket was a gun, the other was a stack of cash...... (Last rant.... Whenever people heard I carried they always said "it's against Domino's policy blah blah blah"...... Dominos Delivery driver here. At my store, we aren't allowed to have more than $20, no debit or credit cards in your car or on your person while working. We have little assigned lockers (with locks) to hold any cash customers give us, whether as a tip or orders paid with cash. But we also aren't supposed to carry any weapons for self-defense 😢. However, as a ccp holder who likes breathing, I have a good hiding place 😂.
Good on you. I work at a retail store that is in the category of likely to be robbed and we also aren't supposed to carry, but I definitely do. Not risking my safety because of a policy that only serves to legally protect my boss and NOT my physical wellbeing.

My cousin smokes meth because he has a fentanyl addiction and the meth helps him theough withdrawal. When he is on meth, he mumbles, gets combative, has wild limb movements, and says off the wall random stuff. Then tries to act like he's normal when he is twitching like a live wire and acts like a goofball. Then he gets his 'tina' and he's off sleeping for 15 hours.
@@ReasonablyBadActor it's weird, but it actually makes it less horrible. withdrawal makes you desperate for food and sleep, but you can't manage either. If you're on meth you don't feel hungry or tired anyways, so it helps distract through the worst part.

Bruce may be unaware but there is a spike in car thefts in the states;especially Hyundai and KIA as they locks are digital and can be hacked easily with no damage to the cars.
Must be really common, I saw that Toronto Police even advised homeowners to leave their car fobs outside so car thieves wouldn't have to break into your house to steal your key. They walked back on that statement since then, but it's wild that anyone thought it was remotely okay to suggest that.

In his defense, he may be showing signs of using but he's in no way close to being unable to drive and officer knew that, I mean he actually pulled over and didn't run considering not knowing for sure of his warrant(less) status AND meth making you both paranoid and a bit of heightened assumptions of your abilities that make someone in those shoes think he can run and lose those the cops. Unless and until he does something extreme (aside from stealing it) he doesn't seem too impaired.

I always start my car before I hop in it and start driving. In the winter, it's cold so I start it to put the heater on. In the summer, I start it to put on the AC.

Methamphetamine does not directly cause tooth decay. It does indirectly from: 1. Gives you dry mouth which prevents your saliva from giving a protective film to the enamel. 2. Most meth users will crave sweet things like candy or sugary drinks. 3. A good percentage of meth users are not doing basic things to take care of themselves like brushing their teeth daily. Just FYI

It doesn’t surprise me the Trooper let him go at that initial stop…..cops give pizza drivers a LOT of leeway. I mean, I’ve been pulled over for some pretty blatant violations and they almost always let me go right away after realizing I was delivering pizzas. I say it’s a 50/50 split if they even run my license. For context I’m a white male in a vehicle in good condition and most definitely not geeking out. All this being said it’s crazy the Trooper didn’t notice things were a bit off with this guy….he wasn’t wearing a Dominos uniform, there weren’t any pizza hit bags in the car, and the car topper was in the passenger seat. In his defense it seems like he pulled the guy over before the car could be reported stolen.
