Is there a Law that forbids dual citizenships of USA and Israel, esp. for those working in the government sectors and the legislative branch? It sounds like "I am loyal to both countries depending on who is going to benefit more". Citizenship should not become a item for benefits or conveniences but a sacred oath to be loyal to the one and only country you have decuded. Dual citizenship is a travesty of loyalty. E.g. if you have a bunch of high level US officials wth dual citizenships deciding between Israeli and Mexico's interests, try will choose what is favourable to Israel even though they are "Americans". The new Congress should pass a law to forbid dual citizenships on the basis that dual citizenships will undermine the loyalty and allegiance to the US Flag alone. Either they abandon the US citizenship or the citizenship of another country.

Dual citizenship is antithetical to allegiance ONLY to the U.S. Flag. It invites conflicts and confusion: Conflicts when the interests of the countries are involved; and Confusion as to which country has a higher priority. When there is only American Citizenship, such conflicts of interests and confusion in execution automatically disappear. Thus, it is important that all public servants, elected officials on Local, State and Federal levels, esp. those elected to the House and Senate, should do away with dual Citizenships to enhance loyalty, dedication, integrity and allegiance only to the U.S.A. Flag. And during election time, candidates who have dual citizenship will be identified and the American public can vote for those candidates whose dedication and allegiance are only for US Interests, National Security, and US Sovereignty.

To anyone who reads this comment- understand too that this sets a legal precedent for other corporations to follow - so if this goes through and protesters go against any corporation- this will open the door to fascism and imprisonment for freedom of speech and the right to protest. Belle I would say it has a lot to do with social norms, along with media coverage in general; much of the media's coverage doesn't do a good job of educating people on what's going on, so people tend to become more reliant on the social norms established throughout the years -- one of those norms being that the Jewish community has been so persecuted (which is absolutely true) that any condemnation of the Jewish state of Israel is viewed in an anti-semitic light.

What's the point of swearing an oath to uphold and protect the Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic, if you don't know what it says? I believe this would constitute a foreign entanglement as Washington warned against in his fair-well address. Maybe first, Congress should pass a law to require all those who would hold office to take a knowledge test to demonstrate competent understanding of what the Constitution says.

The injustice of Gaza and the settlements is staggering. We can only hope BDS continues to grow quickly. I am of Jewish heritage and I have stopped buying Israeli goods. I encourage others to do the same. In my opinion, the end of the occupation and illegal settlements will improve the quality of life for 99% of Israelis.

The American public should boycott those Senators and House Members who voted for the Israel Anti-BDS because their action signifies that the US Constitution is subservient to the interests of a foreign country. This also represents their lack of loyalty and the confusion as to whose interests, American or Israel's should have the top priority. Most of all, those members seem to be clueless with respect to the violation of human rights because of the punitive clauses referred to in the Act for those who want to apply BDS against Israel, as pointed out by ACLU. Members of the Congress who wanted to pass this deplorable and anti-Constitutional Act on the behest of a foreign country, through an unregistered foreign political lobby, AIPAC, at the expense of the Constitutional rights and freedoms of their own US Citizens is a betrayal, a cry of shame and disgust. A.nd they should be booted out of office ASAP.

Why would those senators *single out* Israel as the only country that we’re not allowed to boycott? What’s their fascination, or unhealthy fixation really, with that country? Sure you can ban boycotting of a nations industries but why start with Israel? Why not ban boycotting Russia or Syria?
