When Joan Jett is on stage it makes you want to join her band.....she has something most people don't have.....presence.....and it is overwhelming.....
On this day in 1969 {Jan. 26th} Tommy James & the Shondells performed "Crimson & Clover" on the CBS-TV program 'The Ed Sullivan Show' One month earlier on Dec. 14th, 1968 it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; and on February 1st it peaked at #1 {for 2 weeks} & spent 16 weeks on the Top 100 It reached #1 in Canada, Australia, Germany, New Zealand, and Switzerland... In 1982 it was covered by Joan Jett & the Blackhearts; their version peaked at #7 on the Top 100 RIP Mr. Sullivan {1901-1974}
Watching old bands getting together again is cool and also kind of sad, those old times are gone, the music nowadays has a lack of real talent involve, even making covers. Rock music is dead... still Rock is rebelion, and this rebelion, I'm hoping, will bring it back to life, as louder as it should be. I believe in this new decade.
@MegaRockergirl Yeah She is! Because of her i joined my first band and have tried harder to learn singing and guitar...And she make me know....just be who i wanna be. Joan Jett thank you...Really. It's glad to have a female rocker like you! I am so proud of it! Anyway sorry for my bad English. English isn' my primary language
Unfortunately she was not the writier of the song. It was done by Tommy James and The Shondells. Tommy James and drummer Peter Lucia Jr. wrote in 1968. However, Joans version is by far the best of any cover of the song. She Rocks at anything she plays.
I know that it's bad, but there is an episode of Spongebob Squarepants were Mr. Krabs loses his shell, that is what this shirtless drummer reminds me of.
Oh I saw this one on someone else's channel. Now that I've seen this again I can't get past the other guitarist's hair. It looks like Poindexters in The Revenge of the Nerds talent contest.
(LOL!!!) Indeed, I was thinking the same thing when I looked down and saw your comment. Yeah, that's a bit much on me stomach. Every time they show him I heave! o.0
@3dorksters, I bet it's Cherie Currie. Too bad she was lead singer of the Runaways, Joan insisted on it. What a rocking band it would have been with Joan and Lita Ford playing and singing on and off....now that would have been an awesome girl group!!! Too bad they couldn't get along and make it happen. I feel it's a slice of missing rock history.
Not me anymore, I am sure........a long forgotten love, I am. Boy or gurl? I have not spoken to her for so long, I dunno where her dreams take her these days.
@jamycraballen69: yer right ... joan on the other hand is lookin better than ever. hard for me to pick a favorite JJ&BH song but this is definitely in the running.
@MrsPippinBaggins Just because she didn't write it doesn't mean it can't have a very specific meaning for her. It could have been somewhat of a dedication to Cherie, or someone else.
