It looks fantastic and I can't wait to play it. Will there be a menu option to turn off camera shake? Looks like I'm seeing camera shake in some of the action scenes.
imo the game will be good. not saying it will be a masterpiece to not overhype it, but it will be good. it's not being rushed to release so the developers take their time with the game.

If you are used to playing Black Desert Online, what they shown in this video is quite possible for them to make. They are really good in building the gameworld and the combat is awesome. What they suck horribly though, is the storytelling part and the quests.

This is honestly one of the best game trailers I've seen in a long while. Great looking combat, destructible environments, crime and bounty system, horse taming, Assassin's Creed climbing, pole vaulting, Dragon's Dogma monster climbing, Zelda puzzles, flying, petting and holding animals, giant crabs, mechanical dragons, fishing. If this is all real it'll be like a dream game come true!
It's not just about whether it's a good game or not (at least for me anyway), it's more about how technically optimized it is. If you know anything about the state of gaming, especially on PC, then you know how poorly optimized games the last few months have been. Starfield, for example, has FSR upscaling defaulted in the settings. FSR is an upscaling method which basically lets you run the game at high settings while not suffering performance. Even with this setting enabled, the game still suffers on most systems that don't have the best of the best hardware. Other examples would be Revenant 2, Forspoken, and Jedi Survivor (on PC). While the gameplay aspect is very important, I feel like to really make an impact on gaming, it will have to run great on most modern systems.

This is a genius move because it looks like they took most of Black Desert`s mechanisms and just built around it. which probably saved them tons of work. Especially considering how polished black desert is at this point. Looks very good. Lets hope it can deliver.

The combat definitely looks similar but with far more impact that wouldnt work in an mmo since the goal usually is to kill en masse. Hopefully they keep auto run

I would seriously hold off on that statement man, take a look at Black Desert, its REALLY similar already and is already playable. Many reused assets and animations taken straight from that game, except touched up a bit for this.

@@Mireu_ If they haven't revealed a release date at this point I'd be planning on it being next year at the earliest. We're already halfway through Q3 of 2023. Of course they could just drop it one day and say it's out in a week or something but I wouldn't hold my breath.
This trailer was insane,if they manage to deliver what is shown here well this game might just join the best games ever.Never expected the Black Desert devs to be able to pull something so great and I just realized this game was announced back in 2020 wow damn can't believe I missed it and looks like they're taking their time so I really hope they deliver,looks mad fun.
black desert was and still incredible at combat, though not on UI management and story. I believe the combat in this game will be good but the story, world building, and the other essential features for open world genre are questionable, thankfully they've been developing this game for almost 5 years since it's first announcement came out, and i believe there was 2 years development behind that as well (so in total it'd be 7 years, more or less), i think they won't release the game on the same year as GTA VI otherwise it'd be completely masked out just like horizon zero dawn and forbidden west (by Zelda BoTW and Elden ring), it's probably either 2024 or 2026 (my prediction is mid 2024 since it's been a very long time, delaying the game will only makes the fan angrier, which some already are). So the game is supposed to be good or finished by the time it comes out, i know cyberpunk exist and made this exact mistake but that's the fun of waiting video games release. Well i think i wrote this too much because honestly i'm really onto this game, hopefully they will nailed this. Well see you later on 2024 and lets see how it ended

@@teamrocketsslowpoke2773 I don't have an issue with linearity itself, but they made it linear to avoid the issues of open world games such as not having enough content to populate the world. But then they couldn't put any content in the zones they made besides pointless side quests. If you can't do exploration even on a smaller scale correctly, then just don't do it at all, i say.
It's like combining Zelda TOTK, Assassin's Creed, GTA V, and Ultimate Fishing Simulator all into one game. Plus, there are cats and even a treebeard! Absolutely loving it.
How did I miss this one, that was the most impressive game trailer I have ever seen. And no deceitful cinematics, just actual gameplay. If you pull this off, you are going to have a very successful game on your hands.
I have very high hopes for this game. The developers aren't actually developing everything you see from the ground up. They already have a solid base for all of this from their previous game "Black Desert" which is a MMORPG that they have been improving/updating regularly for nearly a decade. Black Desert has some of the best combat and wildest mechanics of any MMORPG. What they are doing with this game is bringing over the features, combat, mechanics, and lessons learned in Black Desert to a new open world single player game with updated graphics. My hopes are high because they are simply building and improving upon what they already have and tested rather than starting from scratch. You could say this game has been in development and beta tested for over a decade (Black Desert). Now we get the single player version without the "baggage" of MMORPGs.
Black Desert is primarily simply weightless "flashy combat", There is no parrying, no reversals, no elemental countering elements(Water vs Fire, etc) or anything. BDO is only "some" blocking/guarding on some classes with iFrame based dodging with flashy visuals. It's not that deep as this Single Player game is going to be. I played BDO console/PC for over 3 years and it doesn't even have ANY physics. The AI for the majority of NPC enemies are simply brain dead with no more than 2+ slow animations even for an MMO. It is what it is. It's an old game with flashy visuals for combat. Games like Dragons Dogma and Vindictus have paved the way. It's time to tell it like it is. Don't hold back.
@@sevionus80 What purple was saying is that they aren't working from scratch. Crimson desert btw has been a thing since a few years into black desert life from its original time of release 2014. Lot of what you see in crimson desert was going to be added into bdo but then they decided they wanted to make a sequel mmo so they put it towards that then dropped the whole MMO idea (was going to be a prequel) and made it singleplayer. The odds that the game actually plays like this are higher then most games that make all these claims. The problem that will probably happen with crimson is the performance issues (least judging by all the gameplay theve shown). This game does have a high chance of coming out the way it looks (still can ofc flop).

If this is for real, I believe this might end up being a surprise hit that explodes in popularity and acclaim, like the first dark souls, the witcher 3, baldur's gate 3, etc. Really looking forward to seeing where this goes.
Baldurs Gate 3s popularity was very predictable. DOSI and II made Larian absolute darlings of the crpg scene and EA showed they were able to capture the roleplaying aspect of tabletop alongside their brilliant combat system. It's fun to see non crpg and tabletop players join in but it was not an unexpected explosion.
@LiamFarleyMA Larian admitted that BG3 completely surpassed their expectations. It wasn't destined to be a failure, but it's certainly a much bigger success than was anticipated.

Seriously, DD2 had a lot more potential to be great but it just became a repetitive collection of fetch quests and fighting the same groups of monsters over and over again while doing said fetch quests. The Grigori boss fight was pretty lame, too.

That was such a good showcase!! Showing so many of the different scenarios we can expect when playing was awesome, from sidequests to boss battles or straight up roleplaying features... More games should have trailers like this.

From the look of it, this game took the essence of: Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, The Wticher series (especially 3 with Blood and Wine), Assassin's Creed (parkour?), and some other open world game, and took it to another level. This is gonna be an insane game!
The combat looks great. Attacks look heavy but smooth and fast. Love the way the action camera moves. I see there are some assassins creed elements with climbing into that window. It’ll be like a western Medieval Ghost of Tsushima that does Assassins Creed elements better than Assassins Creed. Love the color tone and the reflectiveness of the armor. I’m very picky with medieval games but I think this is one I’d play.
It's literally a combination of some of the greats, which I fully endorse Gta with the wanted system Ghost of tsushima with the combat/horse mechanics Dragons dogma with the monster scaling Assassins creed with building scaling Zelda with the sky cities and puzzles And the most important Good boy simulator with the animal pets ❤

This looks absolutely phenomenal. It's all the good parts of Black Desert ramped up tenfold, with elements brought in from some of my most favorite games. I hope the questing and story is as great as the gameplay looks, and I hope we'll be able to wield magic

I really hope that you guys are able to deliver all these.. I've never been hypes about medieval fantasy games, but this looks and feels like what I can get into.. I really hope that the quests and side quests are good for me to explore the world..
OMG this is stunning! So many gameplay mechanics we didn't see yet. The usage of environment and interactions with the player looks so great! Finally the player might feel alive throught the number of interactions and not just as a static picture floating through the world.
So interesting showcase. Looking forward how all the mechanics is tied into the world and level design. Looking forward to the narrative and vertical gameplay.
I love how despite this being Fantasy, there is a lot of accurate designs such as with the armor and weapons. Hounskull Helmets and Teardrop Kite shields for example.

I am really glad that we can do all kinds of things in the world of Crimson Desert. Not just fighting and killing. Kind of like BDO. Life skilling in this game will be amazing. Also I hope this game contains a sandbox mode too so that we can explore this world with our own character as well. BDO's character creation engine without a doubt the best in history.
