I remember them saying that all Matthew does was sharpen that machete all day which is pretty unnecessary since at that point that machete could cut an entire tree down in one strike.
The affected area(s) should be immersed in hot water (as hot as can be tolerated without burning the skin) for at least an hour and preferably more as this greatly reduces pain and swelling. Immersion can be repeated if pain recurs. Adding Epsom salts or other magnesium sulfate compound to the water may help in dissolving the spines and reducing swelling. Sad thing is the guy's an RN and actually thinks you're supposed to pee on a sting which is just a wives tale. If anything you should wash it with ocean water. The salt will help disinfect it and slightly relieve pain. Urine doesn't do anything except the warmth might help it feel little better for a few seconds.

i was looking for someone to acknowledge that. i get it’s seen as cringe now, but that was pretty normal back then. honestly it’s still common now. you just don’t see it on tv. i think times change and i didn’t find it cringe worthy, just something you wouldn’t say today.
Matthew (the guy sharpening the machete) was my favorite player that season. He was sort of a dark horse and made it to TOP 2 just by keeping to himself, no real alliances. I mean, that's why he ultimately was runner up, but I loved that.

Tbh, it was a smart move and was going to be a thing, like even Jeff felt she could do it.
