I checked on Jenna's wiki and turns out her mother died 8 days after she quit. I can't imagine how she'd feel if she'd decided to ignore her 'vibe' and stay only to find out that her mother had died when she could have been there.
Yeah, because if she went on in the competition and her mother died if she wasn't there with her Mom when she went that would've broke her. So it's good that she quit to be with her
Because he gave them a chance and so many other wanted that chance and now what could’ve been someone who truly wanted to play now can’t and to see someone just walk out just like that is a spit in the face
Why didn’t the medical team evaluate him and pull him from the game? Instead, it looks more like he simply quit because as he put it, “I’m out of my element.”
You can tell that Jeff *despises* quitters, but he handled the Kathy situation so well. He didn’t get angry, didn’t raise his voice. He could tell that she was genuinely breaking down and needed to get out of there. That’s why I love him as a host. No matter what his feelings are, he always does his best to treat the castaways the right way.
Yea, conversing with Jenna in a gentle voice and spitting fire on Colton for me showed that Jeff knew how to handle quitters with the correct level of respect
Lindsey’s quit was like that too, Lindsey was just afraid of something bad happening, and I kind of guess that was a little justified Sue basically couldn’t continue
Well, yeah, they spend a long time picking who's going to be on Survivor and it's very insulting to Jeff and the other contestants, especially those who have already been voted off. Jeff has every right to be disgusted.
Well, he only has those looks towards the people who quit for stupid reasons and not towards those who have a sick family member, who could possibly die, and they want to go home to be with them
in my opinion B's quit was also justified- she worked so hard to get to where she was and if she carried on with her injury and ruined her career then that would be devastating
Bi could have won without this wound ! :'( I was also really moved by Jenna, her mother must have been so happy to see her daughter during her last moments
They should let Bi come back because technically she only quit because of an injury. It took like 4 months for her MCL to heal so she made the right decision but she deserves another chance.
Will never happen. Jeff will never allow that season idea to be green lighted due to be an executive producer as well as having a hatred towards quitters
Jeff actually understood and respected Jenna, Sue and Bi’s decision for quitting. You could tell Jeff was burning with rage at NaOnka, Purple Kelly and Colton’s quittings. Osten was actually doing worse off with multiple staph infections. Janu felt like the tribe has been treating her like dirt since very early on in the game and didn’t want to put up with it anymore. Lindsey quit because she didn’t want to get into a fistfight with someone. Julie felt like she didn’t belong anywhere in the tribe and they were just using her for a vote. Didn’t show Dana or Gary but they quit because they had medical problems. Whilst they were cleared by the medical team, they both quit to prevent their illness from worsening. In the Edge of Extinction, Wendy and Keith raised the sail, Winners at War, Sandra also raised the sail.
I don't understand though because Richard was gay and walked around naked all the time and after she left she immediately asked to come back. I'm not saying it didn't happen but in that environment she could have just been paranoid.
Me: I have corona, Ebola, and contracted aids while breaking both my legs and amputating my own arm after an infection on my neck required me to eat my own head. Jeff: so in other words.... Your quitting??
I would like to see a similar format to Survivor Philippines but with Jenna, Bi and Sue as returning members. You can tell that Jeff was understanding as to why they quit.
hiIMbeau Bi was on Survivor David vs Goliath and quit due to an injury that could’ve affected her mma fighting career. Watch the season, it was really good imo.
I was only 6 years old at the time and hadn't started watching Survivor until Fiji in 2007, but 18 years later in 2022, this still hits hard like a truck. I know Jenna's pain, losing one to cancer. I lost my grandpa at the age of 67 to lung cancer back in early 2011.
And the way he uses Cirrie's first season as reference telling Colton that "You're the ttpe of person who SHOULDN'T HAVE GOTTEN OFF THE COUCH" cos he's a waste of slot... Overpriviledged drama queen... Felt bad for his BF, he was such a nice guy...
@@DyZaster. oh same, I only felt bad for him because of his boyfriend’s passing and how sad it was, they were supposed to be married soon when it happened, other than that , cannot STAND Colton
Except for Jerry. You know, the person who in that season made genuine friendship, was love by all the cast yet was booed by the audience at the reunion. Edit: Also Shi-Ann who was always pictured as a villain.
Their quits we’re reasonable due to them being sick. Dana was very sick, Lindsey was also sick, bi tore a muscle, and Kathy was off her meds so she was a little nutty. Thanks for watching!
Jenna Morasca and Sue Hawk were also people with extremely valid reasons to quit with a mother lying on her death bed and being sexual violated respectively.
What Richard did to Sue was so calculated and gross. He was trying to get her to fail the challenge by getting his exposed genitals as close to her as he could, knowing she'd be uncomfortable. If that season aired today, he would have been disqualified on the spot.
And to be fair, a big part of Kathy's breakdown was because she wasn't on her medication since the game started, so she was just slowly losing her sense of mentality as the game went on. She was clearly trying her best and just couldn't continue. Kathy, Jenna, Sue, Dana, and Bi were the only quits that were justifiable. All the others were just being little bitches.
@@drunkendog13 Ummm take a second harder look buddy. It was very clear during the challenge that Richard violated her. Sue is probably thee most justifiable out of all of them. Being a woman having to deal with that kind of sexual harassment, especially in that environment, I can't imagine how terrible that was for her. She had every right to react the way she did. Yes, it was uncomfortable to watch. But this shit happens every day. It needs to be watched and heard, and it needs to feel uncomfortable. This shit STILL happens everywhere and very few people do anything about it. My heart definitely goes out to Sue for that horrendous incident.
I feel awful for Caleb, he was going to play this game with his fiancé, have a fun time and make memories that would last forever. Then Colton quits, and Caleb sadly passed in a work accident in 2016. Colton's not my favorite player by far but I can't help but feel awful everytime I see his quit now, one of the last great adventures he could have had with the man he loved so much. Rest In Peace Caleb Bankston
I feel confused by Caleb He was great, Colton is a joke. Why was he with him? As far as Colton, I doubt that after the attention he got for Caleb's death, he rarely thought about Caleb. He's a selfish, self-centered bitch who never loved anyone but himself. If you think I'm being "mean", I saw an interview he did a few months after Caleb's death where they asked a third question about Caleb, and Colton said (I can't remember exact wordage) Caleb? Again? I thought this was my interview.
Sue, Jenna, Bi, Kathy, and partially Kelly I feel really bad about. It's so gross what Hatch did to Sue so I really don't blame her, Jenna's mom literally died 8 days after she quit yet was still shit talked, Bi left for medical reasons, Kathy was having a mental breakdown, and Kelly was mislead by the show and only given a bikini to wear on one of the harshest weathers.
I agree with you on all those except with Sue. I'm not going to minimize whatever trauma she had experienced in the past, but Richard, a guy known to walk around naked, simply rubs against her in a challenge that requires close proximity, then she loses her mind? Sue is an idiot, there was no good reason for her to quit.
@@mrjollyguy25 I'm not saying this is the truth, because I don't know Sue's backstory at all, but based on how she reacted, I have to wonder if she was sexually assaulted in her past, and Richard rubbing up against her triggered those memories
Kathy quitting makes so much sense when it was found out that she was on medication (antidepressants i believe) and lied to the casting team about not being on any medication so she quit cold turkey when she came out for the show. Antidepressant medication is not a medication that you can quit cold turkey. On the box it says this.
as someone who relies on antidepressants to manage their mental health problems, those medications are brutal when they’re quit cold turkey. the human body can’t get used to the lack of chemicals from said medications that quickly
Osten Taylor Jenna Morasca Susan Hawk Janu Tornell Gary Stritesky (Not shown here) Kathy Sleckman NaOnka Mixon Kelly Shinn Dana Lambert (Not shown here) Colton Cumbie Lindsey Ogle Julie McGee Bi Nguyen
some things i need to note here: Osten had a staff infection maybe 2, he was losing more than a couple pounds a day by the time he quit, and while they didn't know that at the time his body literally could not take it anymore when unike rupert he had no fat to insulate his muscles and lose some weight healthily while maintaining muscle, it was ALL muscle he was losing. Jenna possibly coud've been in WaW but idt we're gonna see her again for awhile for the same reason we won't see Todd for awhile: they are both recovering addicts and their mental health is more important than the game. but, this brings us to Kathy from FvF1. Kathy technically did quit but hers i would consider more a mental health evacuation. she had been taking anti-depressants for awhile before going, and her body/mind was not doing well off them. she was threatening to get herself medically evacuated by self harming and i think she wanted to cut a finger off right before she quit. that's why jeff was way more gentle with her than most of the others, there was legitimate danger and they had to act quickly. sue hawk, lthough hatch didn't probably intend to do it he absolutely sexually assaulted sue hawk so yeah. also any rupert fans here will NOT want to go back to that episode where sue quit, he was an absolute monster there with no regard for her, even victim blaming like textbook victim blaming.
@@daelynnmoore8232 "sue could've stopped the challenge and cried foul. instead she goes 'oh that's gross' and moves on. thinks about it, processes it, comes up with her own agenda, and goes on with that." almost exact quote from a confessional when they were getting everyone's opinions after she told them all what she was gonna do. very few ppl that episode other than amber and alicia come out of it looking good.
Bi quitting was completely understandable. I bruised, not even sprained my MCL and it hurt so bad to walk on it, I can't imagine doing those challenges with that kind of pain and fear of messing up my knee even more. Respect to her for making the right decision
Colton: when my back is against the wall I turn into that person I was in one world and I don't want to be that person Tyson: you turned into that person before your back was against the wall. Lmao what a fucking savage.
Tbh I only respect Bi and Jenna for there quits. Bi because she sprained her ankle and pretty much couldn’t play the game Jenna because it’s Jenna... just kidding but Jenna because her mom was about to die and she wanted to spend her last few moments with her mom
@John Sonia She was risking too much, an injury like hers left untreated (and trust me, there's no way to rest on survivor) could potentially end her entire career outside, not worth it for a million dollars tbh.
@John Sonia Because you still said "she could've won", it's almost like you insuniated that she should've kept going with her injury, downplay her athletic abilities and utilize her injury.
If u tear ur mcl ur gonna need surgery and about a yr to recover and if she continued without any treatment her career would have ended so still was a quit but with good reason and doctors probably would have pulled her anyway
Abby from wii sports There’s a pretty obvious difference between Bi’s situation and say, Missy’s from San Juan del Sur. Missy sprained her ankle with less than a week left in the game; Bi got hurt with nearly a month still to go. She also worked as a manager at a gym, a job where she could afford a little tissue damage instead of as a professional athlete like Bi, whose entire career would be in jeopardy if she didn’t heal properly. Bi would have had to spend weeks on the island, sitting out of challenges, including a huge portion of the tribal challenges. Her best case scenario in DvG was to risk her career to stay in for another tribal council or two before her tribe sees her as deadweight and cuts her loose. Missy was already set up to be basically guaranteed a spot at the FTC.
@@BangkokBoy101 depends on the context of them quitting. I wouldn’t mind seeing Bi or Jenna come back because they’re exits were justified but People like Colton were babies about it and don’t deserves second chance.
When he says “Ever wonder what you’re doing out here” It’s tough on everyone. Probably everyone always or at some point wants to quit, but don’t, and saying you wanna quit seems more serious.
Neither Sue. I just realized Jerry was the only one who empathize with her at the moment. Crazy to say it but at the time society was the problem, not woman like Jerry (hence why in HvV she was loved by fans). *Edit: Shi-Ann the other "villain" was empathetic too.
Jenna actually could’ve also been the first person to be evacuated for a family emergency like Terry Dietz when his son was in the hospital. However, I totally respect and agree with her decision to quit to be with her mom in her last days.
I HATE that Jenna is including in these lists! Yes, she "quit". But if she hadn't left, her mother would have died while she was there. Imagine the regret she would feel FOREVER over that choice.
I would say that Jeff Wilson, Chet and Brandon Hantz were also quitters. Jeff and Chet told their tribes to vote them out. And Brandon knew he was the next to go, so he threw his hissy fit to "go out on his own terms."
bea is one of the only i feel truly sympathetic for, even if she could stay, if she’s an athlete and pushes her knee too far she could like, kill her job.
Poor B, she had so much potential to be a great player but who can really blame an athlete pulling herself out in order not to lose her potential future opportunities.
I liked Nicaragua, but man, 2 people quit and they were both for really stupid reasons. Purple Kelly and especially NaOnka are just incredibly pathetic.
Me: I've contracted twelve diseases, broken forty bones, had five heart attacks, every form of cancer, infections that require amputations of all my limbs, and been decapitated twice. Jeff: so... You're quitting?
Lol for me I would love to see quiters come back. They each had unique circumstances has to why they left and I think it would be interesting. To see them in spite of those circumstances.
@@geenkaas6380 so lets look at Colton. So whether his first was a quit is up for debate. If it wasn't for his second time it would be classified as a medical leave. As to his second time, it was 10 years ago. Whose to say he wouldn't be different and older more mature especially after losing Caleb and then also the 10 years
Purple Kelly quit because of all the rain while the rest of the players stayed in the game, but the other people who stayed in were also allowed by the producers to wear clothes, so no judgement from me.
Not quite. The recent quits such as Bi and Lindsey even actually had been more justifiable. NaOnka was one he didn’t take to kindly bcuz she had no reason for quitting, and that’s something I applaud him for
You skipped Gary and Dana. Like Bi, they were approved by medics to continue the game but still quit despite being cleared by medical to continue the game.
I personally hate people who quit for stupid selfish reasons. I personally respect the people that quitted/got evacuated on behalf of a loved one or because the injury that he/she sustained was fatal or was compromising their potential in the game. As for Sue who left because she felt violated i can understand because she felt demoralized that she was going through a lot so her i give a pass to.
I have nothing against people quitting. Survivor fans are so entitled to think they deserve a spot on the show just because they applied. It’s not like these people go on the show with the intention to quit. You can get really sick being on the island for that long in the constant rain. Before you judge someone, understand where they’re coming from. Jeff Probst has no room to talk since he doesn’t even know what it’s like.
