Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII Reunion - Ending & Final Boss Fight (4K 60FPS) 

Things people should understand about this that a lot Ff7 fans get completely wrong. Clouds mind here is scrambled by the Mako experiments done on him and he is basically a vegatable with trauma. Cloud crawls to Zack with sheer willpower and Zacks first words to him is to survive for the both of them, that his honor and dreams are now Clouds and that Cloud is his living legacy. These words help Cloud reconstruct his scrambled thoughts by replacing the trauma with his own memories of Zack, adopting Zacks identity and actions. Some people seem to think Cloud has Zacks personal memories and personality which is false. Instead Cloud uses Zacks words to fix his mind and help him forget his trauma which is why he gets headaches anytime he is reminded of his Trauma in FF7. Cloud does not carry Zacks personal memories or personality but merely adopts his identity as a 1st class Soldier.

People dont seem to understand, the reason they kept the same ending is because they WANT people to experience Zack's death.

21:45, this moment still hurts. The way Cloud reaches out to Zack is like he’s representing us, the players trying to prevent Zack’s death. Sadly, it’s inevitable. He gave his life protecting Cloud, so he can live. So he can be the hero he always dreamed to be.

God the way Cloud says “I’m…your living…legacy” hurts so much. It’s like he is barely comprehending what’s even happening and just repeating what he hears. Cody Christian absolutely nailed this scene and gave Cloud the kind of confused broken emotion that he needed.

Losing the DMW is so sad all the memories that Zack has ,slowly leaving him forever in a battle you can’t win.Even though I knew Zack died I still cried,if only the Turks found him first.Aerith saying “Will I See You Again” just broke me.

I will never forget Crisis Core. I played it so much back then and yet it never failed to make me shed tears when Zack died. The Price of Freedom truly is steep.

I love this trope of the hero being defeated but only because they were weakened. Zack normally would never lose to shinryu's army of humans, 1st class were made to be able to solo entire armies. (Which is why sephiroth's weapon is so long, to literally reap as a many as possible). However he just bearly lived against genisis, while degrading is on par with his power, and buffed by the literal gawd of the world. Not to mention the psychological pain he was in, constantly protecting and carrying cloud. His friends, comrades and hero's were all dead (genisis' condition would of been unknown to Zack though). Aerith had finally given up on him after 4 years. Again no way Zack would of lost here, but he wasn't at peak performance and that's what makes it beautiful.

Okay... This time Cloud's scream seemed really full of pain. I can respect that in his new voice.

The ending that truly broke me when I played it in the PSP. Yeah I'll never touch this again, even with the amazing reviews. My heart can't take it back then, and it sure as hell can't take it now.

This is yet the only ending of a videogame that completely got me off guard and made me cry a waterfall. Incredible buildup with a very well fleshed out character.

Cody is the perfect voice for Cloud. He nails every aspect of his character, the scream at the end especially. He took something that was kinda goofy in the original and made it so raw.

The only thing cloud had over zack were his friends. Cloud had a lot of people to support him, while zack was mostly alone and all 3 of his friends betrayed him

its important to recognize that they say the story continues in FF7 NOT FF7 Remake. They are definitely establishing a difference.

alot of people are split about zacks voice but that cloud yell at the end was fucking amazing. this cloud nailed his role.

What I also like is that the Turks were seemingly in the dark about Zack's location, while most of Shinra prepared an ambush knowing exactly where Zack was going to be. Given how the Turks operate and how good they are (Cissnei immediately found Zack soon after the escape from Nibelheim), there is likely more going on. Personally, I feel that it can be implied that the President, Heidegger, etc. all kept important information from the Turks regarding Zack's location near Midgar because they likely knew or had suspicions that Tseng and everyone were not going to turn over Zack if caught.

Massive heartache, now in full 4K-HDR-60fps glory.

One of the saddest ending in the Final Fantasy series. But looking at the bright side.. Another version of Zack is still alive in different timeline.

You know some people who only knew Zack from seeing him in 7 remake are going to be VERY confused

I can't believe I have to relive this pain again. My boi Zack deserves so so much more. But I know his sacrifice plays a big big role in the main game and later on. You're always our hero Zack.

I had been fighting the Shinra army for ~50 minutes before my mom finally looked up how to advance to the ending. The solution was to allow myself to take more damage, and a few rounds of me nearly dying and healing myself with aerial drain later, I finally managed to witness the most heartbreaking scene in my life. I honestly wish I kept going until the end.

Even decades after the ending still hurts, Zack Fair you are a HERO!!

Some of us knew Zack would die and still tried desperately to find another option where he didn't die. Zack will forever be one of the best FF character

I still love Rick Gomez as Zack Fair, but Caleb Price take on the character isn't all that bad compared to how people making out to be. He definitly improved redoing the "Price of Freedom" scene compared to how it was presented in FF7 Remake.

Wow. I'm glad to know so many other people were moved to tears by this game. Like Cloud I modeled my persona after Zack. The line "Embrace your dreams." Has been my motto ever since playing this game years ago. I accomplished quite a few my dreams. His legacy will live on!

Just finished. *man* This was my first time playing Crisis Core. Already knowing what happens to him before playing the entire game. I was legitimately was like "why isn't my Phoenix down working? Please don't do this. You were this close :("

I don't know why so many fans are down on our newbie Zack-voice, whose name escapes me at the moment. I think he did a great job. Yes, Rick Gomez is one of a kind, but the new guy did well too. That last scene with Cody was beautiful, the little changes in Zack's voice as he speaks at the end are great, I think.

The real reason why they didn't change the ending... Is because it's just a perfect ending.

This was the first and only game to ever make me cry. Never was a fan FFVII but playing this and becoming a big fan of Zack’s character leading up this hopeless fight was saddening.

I know damn well I'm not the only one that still cries at the ending even for this remake. But for the first time, I cried with joy when he returned in the original remake. But even after all these years, this scene alone tears me apart

22:12 very glad Caleb Pierce decided to change the way he delivered this line. To me it was never an issue that the VA’s changed, it was solely about how the line was delivered. In Remake, it almost sounded like Zack was cockily looking forward to dying against the battalion which doesn’t match at all with the tone of the scene. Here, he sounds like someone whose disappointedly aware that he’s about to die but is willing to give his all to protect his friend and see his crush again.

I remember finishing Crisis Core back on the PSP days, it was the only game so far that made me cry so hard. I've played the OG FFVII prior to this and didn't care for Zack but now, he's one of my favorite Final Fantasy characters ever. Hoping he'll play more roles in the remake

Perhaps this is one of the most moving ending in the history of video game

They didn't change the ending so that new players can experience Zack's death and understand the significance of his appearance and survival in the remake ending

Finished playing CC Reunion yesterday. The sad part is that I’ve played the OG Crisis Core more than once, I’m more than familiar with the ending, and yet during the final sequence I still fought for my life spamming Potions and Curaga 😭😭

Caleb has some good lines man. I wish he kept a serious tone like Rick did. He nails it in all of the quiet scenes.

When that DMW got stuck on Aerith, man I was balling tears. I would never forget how hard I took Zack’s death when I played this on the PSP years ago. This was the first PlayStation game I cried to from the death of a character.

I saw Final Fantasy Advent Children before playing this gem of a game on the PSP. After the game I finally understood who the person was at the ending - being the spirit of Zack. Man do i love this game to death, one of the best stories ever…

With how much I dislike Caleb as Zacks new voice actor you can tell he tried his hardest to deliver the final lines. He delivered the “the price of freedom is steep” line much better in this game than in the Remake

I have this game for psp still, always impressed how amazing looks for a portable console and its ending is one of the best in ff saga, also the saddest, love this ff so much.

Zack: Hero/First Class. Sephiroth: First Class. Angeal: First Class. Genesis: First Class. Cloud: Borrowed Memory.

I cried so bad when I was a kid….all these years later seeing my hero die again 😏

There is an important buff to the badassery of Zack Fair’s final stand. They added helicopter wreckage to the battlefield after the time skip, indicating that he had destroyed them, rather than them leaving because they ran out of fuel necessary to reach a suitable landing site as implied in the Crisis Core ending. Even in the FFVII remake, only a single helicopter’s wreckage is visible.

I remember playing this game in PSP. I was very sad for about a week after Zack died. And seeing the remastered version of it and then the ending cinematic when Cloud is above the train then playing FF7 remake after is just beautiful.

I never play this game anymore because I don’t want to make him die once again. I couldn’t imagine how many times I had cried after the first time I played that 14 years ago…….just let it rest it peace in my memory now…

I’ll be honest, I could get used to Caleb Pierce as Zack. I think he’s improved since his debut in Remake. Can’t wait to see how he improves with time.

Zack is so close to death at the end that Aerith’s pose in the DMW changes.

IMO Caleb's Zack gradually gets better sounding after he gets the new hair & the buster sword. Almost like there's a maturation process for his entire character. Maybe that's the direction they were going for. Pre-buster sword = Young, naive, wet-behind-the-ears With buster sword= More serious sounding, less cheesiness in the delivery Just my two cents

I remember playing the original and the ending made me sad and mad like why!? Ma boi deserves better than that.

Cloud's scream in the remake is so much better now, but I have to admit, I prefer the original Zack VA's "COME AND GET IT" over this one. I don't know why, it just doesn't sound right to me.

Is there no additional scene? I saw on a comment on another RU-vid video for Crisis Core Reunion that there was one more scene that explains how Reunion ties into the Remake.

Anyone else get the impressions that at 34:30, its essentially showing the lifestream pieces of Zack reach Aerith now in the "new" timeline at the spot the original Crisis Core essentially ends at and it's a major point in triggering her awareness that something is in fact off/seems familiar and begins the realization that this is the second coming of events? She would have well noticed his entering the lifestream in the original timeline and i'd imagine re-experiencing such a core trauma is one of the main things tipping her off to having the same "timeline awareness" that Sephiroth has. Factually there are two timelines now and it's also well demonstrated of certain others awareness' of this (Sephiroth indirectly speaks out to the player breaking the 4th wall referencing things wont go the same way this time, Aerith showing... something.... to Marlene as well as RedXIII prompting flashbacks of sorts, etc.) and frankly i'd have to imagine that eventually when we run into Bugenhagen he's going to be aware that something is going on as well....

Man this game is DOUBLE the pain huh? The pain of reliving Zack's death and the pain of playing through the game hearing Caleb's poor performance as Zack. I'm 100% playing the game in Japanese dub. Hope the modders put Rick's voice in soon.

A tip for the new players who didn't know the easiest way to beat genesis here, is get blizzarga change your focus to genesis himself and not the sword, then spam.

Interesting. Although it is pretty clear that remake is a sequel for everything before it, the post credit scene which cloud said "I am cloud, soldier 1st class" told us to continue the story in "Final Fantasy VII" not "Final Fantasy VII Remake"

Cloud say he won't forget but after he walk to midgar he forget everything and told everyone he is Soldier 1st' class (his memory combine with zack)

I just finished this game for the first time last night. I always knew it was a tragic tale, but making the player play through the hopeless battle, truly heartbreaking, a little sadistic on the developer’s end.😢

Was really hoping for a secret ending of some sort that ties into Final Fantasy VII Remake. This is a remaster, sure; but so was Final Fantasy Type-0 and we still got “a little something extra” hinting at the future of the game’s universe. The difference with Crisis Core Reunion is that future is already established: we will be seeing an alternate timeline where Zack survived that encounter.

I'm here hoping that they implemented the 7R's ending by actually killing everything the Shinra Army can throw at you, because Zack's death was considered destiny and that's broken

I'm totally new to the series, didn't know anything about these characters a few days ago, and OUCH did Zack's death hit so dang hard. For me, part of what drives it home is how, during the entire game, you don't see the characters ever actually bleed from their injuries, even when Cloud gets skewered by Sephiroth. They don't actually show the injuries. But here at the end, for once, the game cuts to Zack, bleeding profusely from the head, riddled with bullet holes, and lying in a pool of his own blood. It's so jarring and painful to see

15 years later, this ending still breaks my heart. Why did they remove Cloud's howling near Zack's body though? This was such a sad and heartbreaking moment, I was surprised they didn't keep this.
