When you come to the realisation that Zack could have lived had he just decided to run the opposite direction and go into hiding but he chose to go back to Aerith, back to the city infested with Shinra soldiers that wanted him dead cuz she was there 😭😭
Zack has always been my favorite character in ff. Even in the original ff7 for the five minutes he was in it. He went out protecting his friend I still get teary-eyed.
If you don't know the story, but played this into it's extra content like all the missions, you eventually get to one where you fight 1,000 Shinra soldiers. So you get to the end thinking you actually have a chance.
The great thing about crisis core is that the story is so powerful even by itself, yet with context from the original final fantasy 7 it adds an even deeper layer that blows up the emotions and and depth of everything. Its a traumatic and tragic story that leads into ANOTHER traumatic tragic story.
The end of CC leads directly into the start of FF7. There is maybe a week between them. Cloud stumbles to the Sector 7 station where Tifa finds him and brings him into AVALANCHE to look after him cuz she knows he isn't right.
I think most people under shoot the time between cc and ff7 proper but ultimately the affect is the same. Personally I think also the Mako poisoning contributes to Clouds state that Tifa finds him in but ultimately it is the trauma of Zacks death and the abuse of the trip from the cliffs to Midgar and surviving the slums on his own that leads to the mental break we see in ff7 proper. Cloud at Zacks death is fairly cogent if exhausted, even in ff7 original he is fairly cogent by the time Zack dies and a bit before.
@@johnpaulyoshida5690 I personally dont think he would have had the mental break had he not experienced the trauma while mako poisoned. He was barely able to string sentences and when Zack dragged him to that spot, Cloud could barely even see straight or keep conscious. Experiencing such loss only to be experimented on and then left with another horrible loss afterward while in such an in and out state....his mind couldnt take it anymore. A combination of all of it led to him shutting out his past and taking on Zacks role.
I'm currently doing my yearly rewatch of the end of Crisis Core and this is first time I'm experiencing people reacting to the remake. Definitely a trip and watching Zack die pretty much 15 years after I was forever changed by having to play through this final battle. Not many if even any other end battles have ever had me in tears like this as soon as i realized what qas going on. Could barely see my PSP and I've never finished it more than once because I just can't do it. I can't watch it once a year when I'm feeling nostalgic and that's it. Even waited a while to look at any gameplay of the remake because of the pain. Zack immediately became my fave through playing this game and it deeply changed me.
Briana White did a really good job of not only recording the lines for Aerith, but also carrying a lot of the same inflexion and intonations as from the original VA. So it really almost sounds like it's the same actress sometimes when compared to the original version
Zack was stuck with Cloud in those mako tanks for 4 years so of course he couldn’t respond to Aerith’s letters ☹️ once he realised he made it his mission to get back to her… he loves her so much 😭
And she obviously loved him. Shown by the 89 letters.. Her feelings are gonna be all Zack in FF7 Rebirth when he shows up! Sorry, Cloud! The MAN is back!
The power of the goddess stopped genesis’s degradation and reverted him to his original form Those two 1st class soldiers; that’s Weiss and Nero The last recitation of genesis, that’s the final act of loveless
Cloud is my hero and always will be. What that poor boy goes through in these games is unbelievably traumatic and still to this day, people constantly misunderstand or mischaracterise him. I hope @mandersmatch will not be swayed by a certain section of the fandom that love to hate Cloud for no other reason than Cloud is an extremely popular character, and they want their favourite to be the main protagonist In the Remake project!
The reason why it’s says ‘to be continued in FFVII’ is because it is a prequel to the OG, not the remake. Which kinda negates the little Remake intro at the end. They should’ve thought the end scene through a bit more, giving Aerith her classic outfit would’ve been a better choice.
@@sakuracardcaptor4709 Not really, it's more a Sequel In a parallel universe/alternate timeline... The ending of Remake (and various little things throughout) make it obvious if you've played/watched the entirety of "The Compilation Of Final Fantasy VII" (it's why so many fans were annoyed with Remake, as a casual fan, who has played/watched everything though, I'm all for it 🤷♂️) Order of events would go like: Before Crisis Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII (1997) Advent Children (Movie) Dirge Of Cerberus Final Fantasy VII Remake
@@sakuracardcaptor4709 yes, but it’s a sequel to OG ff7 as well which immediately follows after the events of OG FF7 (the end scene of Aerith after you beat the OG game is the beginning of Remake). Crisis Core feeds directly into the original game first.
I played years ago back when I was in high school. It made me cry when I saw this. I have The original psp version and the new version for PS5 and the nintendo switch. If anything try to watch final fantasy average children it's pretty good. And it kinda goes with the game.❤
Yeah I know that ending was very tragic for you, the thing is Shinra had marked Zack as "Killed in action" and they wanted to make sure it stayed that way to the public. But now ya gotta remember what happened at the end of FF7 Remake part 1, that what happened to Zack has now been changed and we maybe seeing him again soon enough in FF7 REBIRTH!!!
idk if someone answered it or if you found out later but the SOLDIERS that pick up Genesis' body after Zack and Cloud leave are Weiss and Nero, the two strongest DEEPGROUND soldiers.
its basically saying to play the original FF7 .. as thats the intro to the original game. CC was a PSP game originally, and the remake wasnt even planned at that point. FF12 was released that year, IIRC (could be wrong)
I’m watching all your ff7 content to prep for rebirth, and this is the first time I’ve ever noticed or seen anyone call out that the ending specifically says to be continued in ff7 and not remake. It seems like such a small thing, but with how much attention to detail and foreshadowing they’ve had not only in the game but also in their advertising for the remake in general, I can’t help but wonder now if it was very intentional, like a subtle “this version of events specifically leads to what happens in the original game, not necessarily remake” type of thing. I guess we’ll find out soon 👀
Those two who picked up Genesis were Nero and Weiss. At the end of Dirge of Cerebus, Genesis reawakens. Here is the scent and it is not considered a ‘spoiler’ as you can no longer play the game unless you have an old PS - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aAaJlWzQxLU.htmlsi=YZP3HRq8uE4gKKyh
33:16 Wait are those two of the three from Advent Children?! 46:53 But...Remake and Intergrade! Cloud seems to have done something that brought him back. He was alive at the end of both! Like with the Star Wars prequel trilogy, now I have to watch the other playthroughs again to reassure myself. Not that that's a hardship, but geez! Heartstring ripper, that ending!
Cloud and the gang went into the singularity to defeat the Whispers and Sephiroth. Since the singularity happens everywhere in time at once, when the Whispers were destroyed they couldn’t ensure Zack’s death, so he survived and it sprung another timeline. The two guys who take Genesis back are Nero and Weiss from Intergrade/Intermission.
Cloud: I won't forget Traumatized Cloud: I will forget you Zack: if you see Aerith say hi to her Traumatized Cloud: I will take your memories and your waifu!
I still feel the original holds more weight. Zack didn't need his anime dialogue at the end it is much more impactful that he's just lying there dead which Is what breaks clouds mind and the jenova cells inside of him take Zacks memories as a coping mechanism.
