Made this for my wife last week, served with some wild rice and steamed veggies. Major brownie points. Thanks Chef. Just asked what she fancies for dinner this evening and she's asked for this dish again. Simple, easy and very tasty. The boy done good.
Loved hearing the crunch!!!! Looked mouth-wateringly good! I love the explanations about why you use ingredients and how to get the best flavour out of your food/recipe! Nice work chef.
Loved the crunch in the end 😁amazing recipes all the time Chef thanks a lot will try this now for my son as it is it’s raining and he will love it goes well with the weather too 👍🏼
Chef Ovens' future children are gonna be some lucky kids! I made his creamy garlic sauce last year and I combined it with gnocchi, it was really nice. I ordered some kecap manis because I plan to try making his thai curry recipe soon.
Cooked this recipe last night …probably the best thing I’ve cooked from RU-vid..it was absolutely amazing.total filth ( I’m British so that means it’s good),they were like savoury sweet chicken donuts, and my 87 year old mother loved them.thank you for that as it was six months to the day that my farther died and it been a struggle to get her to enjoy her food and you’ve helped more than you know.thank you.
Oh Lord, I just about spit my coffee out ... "It's not about the size..." Way to go Chef Jack! Oh yeah, and the recipe looks delicious too. Saved it to my favourite vids for one day next week, got to find some corn flour though. Thanks for the vid Chef Jack.
Chef this recipe is amazing and really easy to cook. I'm a vegetarian so I used tofu instead of chicken and it turned out great! Thanks so much for posting this!
Oh yes.. totally loved this video....loved your HIT comment😀 about the wok size..and absolutely gulped when I heard that crunch😂..what I love about your videos is not only about your amazing recipes but also bec you are hilarious and you put a smile on my face... Thank you dear... God bless you💕💕💕
This is still my favourite of all times, but there are a lot of runners up to it, I set the monitor up in the kitchen while I cook it, a little like a one to one lesson. Thank you, Chef, take care stay safe, I will try the new stir fry at the weekend.
AP flour for browning , corn starch for crispy , baking powder to up the PH and keep it crispy after adding sauce, I haven’t seen a bad recipe from this guy yet .
Oh my goodness, that looks amazing! I LOVE the sound of the batter, my batter is never very crispy. As always, TFS, stay safe and keep well. Have a good week. 👍💖
@@ChefJackOvens Great recipe, Jack. The batter was spot on. It stayed crispy for ages and it was super light. If I was to change one thing, I'd add a touch more vinegar to cut the sweetness of the sauce. But that would be purely for my own preference. 😊
Wait for the oil to completely cool down then pour it through a sieve to remove the leftover batter pieces. It can then be used again. As for storage, place it into a container or bucket or whatever you have ready for the next use. When it comes to disposal, allow it to completely cool down as we don’t want to melt anything and for it to spill everywhere and pour it into a container that you’re going to throw away anyway. I usually pour mine into an old laundry liquid bottle or you can pour it back into the same oil carton you originally got it from and just throw it into the bin. Please never pour oil down the drain, it will ruin and clog your pipes 😊
Amazingly good recipe. Looks so scrumptious and delicious. Captain Jack you've done it again. Thank you for sharing this yummy video. God bless 👍🙏💥💥💥💥💥
Lot going on their jack.. Looks very tasty. As you usual. Well presented.. Loved the line.. Its not about size its how you use it.. true!.. I'm sure you have a bigger one!)😉👍 brilliant again Jack. 👏👏👏
Thank you so much! I always try to improve the edits with every video I make. I think it may be the fact that I’ve been changing up the camera angles and getting different angles 😊
This looks devine! I've had orange chicken with this type of batter, same as lemon chicken.. is there any way to incorporate those flavours into this recipe?
Making this today, just looks & sounds so good. Storage? I don't know who would have any left to store after making them :) Lol, gotta love that wok comment, great video, Cheers 🌺🇦🇺
Love your recipes! Just wondered if the batter would work with other meat or fish, large prawns for example (with a chilli dipping sauce rather than the honey coating!)?
This looks incredibly yummy Chef! May I ask: what do you do with the deep frying oil once you're done with it? Do you re-use it, or if you discard it, how do you discard it?
Glad you think so. With the oil I wait for it to completely cool down then strain it into a container and re use it. Once the oil has seen its day and is well used, again wait for it to cool down then put it into a container that your going to throw away, I usually put it into an empty laundry liquid bottle or something like that 😊
@@ChefJackOvens thanks for the detailed explanation, really appreciate it! Another question: how do you define "well used / seen its day"? Is there a way to gauge by colour or some other means? Thanks heaps!!!
