wait, if he don't start, then who'll start? Jota? Ramos? Felix? People always forget what he offers. Portugal is talented for sure, their main strength is always wing play and crosses. Portugal is not Argentina, where they play intricate tikitaka and through teams. They are the most direct, fast pace, ball into box team. Unfortunately, Jota can't provide the aerial threat or the hold up play Ronaldo can offer. Ramos, to a certain point, but Ronaldo is tried and trusted. Felix on the other hand, is the wild card for the team. Griezmann for Giroud and France some would say. Eventhough Fernandes does it as well, but Martinez has proven both can play together. Then to address Ale's point, yes if Ronaldo gets muted, the team will get slow and etc. But it's the same case for every team. Kane for England, Mbappe for France, Messi for Argentina, Neymar for Brazil, Morata for Spain and etc. One could argue, well England has other players to step up, the question is, do they play the same with or without Kane?
