Awesome video and description, thanks for doing it! I have way more experience with belt throwers and have always wondered about the intricacies of the pan kicker - you answered a lot of it! A dairy farm in town has a New Holland with one - always marveled at it growing up, and they still have it running 30 years later!
I have no doubt that JD balers & kickers have gotten better/more refined/more user friendly in the 45 or so years since I bought one. At this point I think the difference is just personal preference.
Still using a model 30 kicker on an old 336 almost identical to the 42... Works like a charm.... New Holland is full of crap.... These kickers will keep up with any square baler made today regardless of capacity if adjusted correctly...
An adjustment you should make on your baler is that warp speed kicker tilt. I have never seen one move that fast. you can feather ours on the control in the cab. You seem to have a hydraulic on yours that isn't stock. should be electric hydraulic self contained unit without hoses. what is that about, looks like a new baler...
The baler is 5 or 6 years old. The hydraulic tilt is 100% John Deere and for that baler and 42 kicker. Electric tilt was an other option, I wanted hydraulic. Thx for watching.
If you really want to see the face of the narrator, you can see his reflection at 13:01. 😉 Thanks for the video. Regarding the measurements for a 32" bale, how far from the end of the bale chute to the trip finger?
