FCG calls upon The Changebringer for guidance, only to be told vague and unhelpful statements. For The Tempest | Critical Role | Campaign 3, Episode 68: • For The Tempest | Crit...
@@foolslayer9416 yeah but…come on honey, there’s a time and a place. It reminds me of when Laura joked about Jester stealing a rock Caleb needed to get to Islecross for no reason lol.
@@MatisyahuwuThe spell can also be answered by a celestial bound to the deity, so maybe Avandra was feeling funny and was like "Steve, my messiest angel, go answer the robot and make it fun"
@@Ziaoticbecause y’all ignoring the fact that the more you use that specific spell the less accurate the responses get, and also that Matt literally said himself that it’s not always the god answering but sometimes a representative. FCG has gotten more direct answers with commune than divination.
Just remember, this is the same lady who played along and gave FCG advice on a card game. One gets the impression she's not THE most reverent of gods. That and she's the goddess of choices and free spirits. And there's a good chance both options will help our heroes and the gods, so she has wiggle room to be a little trollish
Also, mechanics of the spell. The text literally says if you cast it more than once, you get a cumulative % chance each additional cast for an unclear answer.
@@trise2033 He pissed off the Moonweaver. I bet Change Bringer was laughing her ass off the entire night and brings it up at every god family get together/meeting just to see Moon get rilled up.
@@andrewdowns3673 moonweaver is also a bit chaotic, her biggest issue with Artie was him claiming to be her, even if it was to redirect worship to her, identity theft is not a joke to a god or goddess.
the best part is that he could have just cast comune instead and asked is it dancer and would have gotten a yes or no, instead he cast divination that gives you answers in riddles
I love all of your Bell’s Hells character designs, and FCG’s design is so cute and so expressive, even when going through both a mental and emotional breakdown when being trolled by their God.
I think the funniest bits out of all of this is that FCG didn't need to use spell slots to cast it ("I've used FIVE high level slots"), and I believe Keyleth was in the room the whole time just watching in confused silence. For some added details: I believe Divination is a ritual spell and he could have taken ten minutes to cast without a slot. Sam may have intentionally cast it to save time, but also I think it's so much funnier the other way. Also Keyleth was talking with them moments before if I remember correctly, and so it's great to imagine her just thinking 'Oh god were we this bad??'
This was one of my all time fave moment of critical role. I listen via podcast and I remember I was kinda drifting off to sleep and this happened and I bursted out laughing and replayed it like 5 times.
Matt could have absolutely screwed with sam to such a deep degree, but he fumbled the opportunity to change Shithead's name to "Dookie" No one was more bound to FCG than that bird. If he changed its name to start with a D, that could have given a completely new thread that would have COMPLETELY flown under the radar.
D is someone that is dead set on reviving the aeormaton race and setting them out into the world to do whatever it is that they will do. If they can’t bring them online they will give them to someone who can. Why give away free children when you can charge for the adoption process?
They were confusing past events and believed that FCG had seen D before Dancer repaired them. So they assumed D and FCG had a history that FCG couldn't remember.
I know that wasn't a crucial moment but I really expected you to animate Orym's "DO-TO-TU-DU-DOO :D" after Imogen stutters bc it just tied the chaos together for me. I love your animations, they're great
I absolutely love how because of how FCG was using his commune spell, Matt slowly shifted Avandra's characterization so she's basically a divine troll.
Two things.... One, Excellent capturing. Sure, he's "supposed" to be all robot faced and junk, but like... Expressive FCG is best FCG. Two, far less important, I love that Imogen has a Sailor Moon tiara for her anti-mind-reading item. Excellent work, top notch.
Might just be me but it seems like this was Matt trying to give FCG a choice in which person they consider to be the one who gave them life. IMO, D is the much more interesting path to go down but it looks like FCG wanted to go with Dancer. The pressure from everyone else wanting to see D's storyline made it a much harder choice for Sam.
Ah yes! Asking the goddess of choices to make decisions for you. Kinda like asking the goddess of death to bring you back to life. ~Someone missed the point~
I love FCG's little punch motion when he says "I killed her!" and I also love that the pose carries to the following frame. It's such a non-thing but I like it.
I love your animations so much, you have one of my favourite animated FCG designs, you make them so adorable. Also I was soooo on Sam’s side during this, especially because Laura’s point (love you Laura) about “we only know about D because we looked in your memories so you had to have met or seen him” is INCORRECT! They know D because they looked into _Imahara Joe’s_ memory!! I love all of them, but am glad that they ended up going to Dancer instead
I feel like both answers are correct at this point, or Changebringer might just be giving into her nature and be like "Lol lets see what my weird lil robot does with this."
Laura had a multi session streak of just awful perception checks, and then said "maybe she does need glasses" after a bunch of fan art of Imogen with glasses was made I think
"The one you are most bound to!" The person that found and sold your unconscious body VS The person that woke you up, gave you your name, let you throuh the early stages of your new found life HMMM I WONDER WHO IT COULD B-They chose D -.-
I am 100% convinced it was supposed to be Dancer, because FCG had talked about wanting to reconnect with Dancer earlier in the episode, they all talked about it, and then Laura misinterpreted this to mean D, and the rest of the party took her word for it. Laura Bailey is perfect in every way, but this conundrum was 100% her fault. Lmao
@@CrimsonJoker13 "Go to the person who gave you life." That could be: A - The person who actually gave you life. B - The person who gave you to the person who actually gave you life. I don't know why anyone would ever have though that it was B. Laura and Ashley were convinced, for some reason, that Devexian was the one who woke FCG up, even though it's very well established by multiple characters that Dancer woke FCG up, and D just sold them.
