"I can´t draw dragons" 1:00 I mean yeah you seem to struggle a bit with it buuuut... At 1:30 and after it was pretty good, would have been perfect with a longer neck like at 1:40 But decent dragons aside, what I REALLY like about your drawings are those facial expressions. They are 10/10 the best I have seen in critical role animatics thus far. At least I liked them a lot.

A white dragon's hoard is like a collection of their greatest victories in killing prey. Throwing coins at them and running away is like an insult to their very nature, like throwing feces at them.

@@DuskyPredator in pathfinder, irrc white dragons also have a really hard time getting their own hoards as well, as they aren't exactly considered the strongest of the chromatic dragons. Not sure if this is different in 5e

end of the campaign, they're level 20 and Matt just ends it with "Beau, on one of the days you meditate, you feel a sudden weight on your shoulder, you open your eyes to see Professor Thadius, and we fade to black"

Really? My character offered up precious magic items (like very rare ones) to an ancient white dragon and befriended her that way. He then asked….advice on kobold care….because my character had adopted 14 of them…and he had 20 by then…. My dm was just laughing in the background as I roleplay my character awkwardly asking advice like this. I also think my dm let me get away with this because it was a running joke by this point that my drow was no drow but drow-hon (drow dragon). Reason? He kept getting magic stuff that we would return to the inn he owned and either show it off or hoard it. He was like that local stray who likes to gift you their kills because they think you are neat. That was his reputation in the community. Oh yeah, and all the kobolds he had adopted who were running that inn….they may have also built a network of tunnels and bunkers under the inn….so my character also had a lair essentially lol. Um right yeah, but back to ancient white dragon. We ended up freeing the dragon because the bbeg trapped her in her lair and then, to peacefully chat with her we gifted her some magic items from my own hoard (legacy party member means I had a ton of shit i didn’t need, nor did the party). We got to chatting and she allowed us to take some potion ingredients from some of her kills she kept in her fridge (basically she froze her kills and stored them that way), chatted about kobold care to which I realized I was doomed, and then she flew us to the bbeg. She later came to pick us up as we escaped. My drow-gon also just, in the epilogue visits her regularly for a chat and sometimes, if he finds a cool item, or brews a rare potion, will gift it to her. Their friendship, the dm, said is strong enough that she will definitely keep her promise to make sure the bbeg is forgotten even after my character passes away and will pass on that to her own children (to which the dm says one of the eggs my character is going to be named after since dragon and I are friends now). It was kinda hilarious. Maybe it’s because it wasn’t a bribe though but a gift for intruding and also we freed her for no reason but because it would piss of the bbeg (my character routinely trolled the bbeg because he hated the bbeg so much). Anyway, sorry for length. But yeah I didn’t know the bribing thing and then I asked the dm about it and he did confirm that lore. But he said the party and I did this in such a way that he didn’t feel like we offended her. Intrigued her and then amused her and then just was routinely nice and generous to her that he said it worked. Anyway, thanks for prompting me to ask my dm about this!

Yeah, Reani's halo is very misleading in regards to that. That halo makes her look like an angel but then she opens her mouth and she talks about poisoning people.

@@BlueSun_ dont hang on crawfords every word especially since that ruling is incredibly stupid. just because it's a gas doesn't mean it's not an object, just because it's not created from an actual spell doesn't mean it's not magic. and we know the hut blocks liquids and wind from the "The atmosphere inside the space is comfortable and dry, regardless of the weather outside" description. and before you bring up the "discrete inanimate" rule on objects i'll hit back with that same ruling saying "For the purpose of these rules" which are specifically about doing damage to objects.

@@EvelynNdenial What constitutes a magical effect has been ruled to be something that derives from a spell/magic item or contains the keyword "magic/magical" in it's description. The definition of Objects in the DMG has been ruled to apply generally. Of course you can feel free to ignore any rulings made by the designers of the game outside of the books just like you can ignore anything inside the books.

Young dragons are around CR8-9 (challenge for a full party of level 8-9 adventurers). I threw a young green at my party the other day. Adult dragons are around CR13. Ancient dragons are around 20. M9 were even more dramatically outclassed here than you're saying.

Thenlar CR 8-9 means that a party of 4 level 8 adventurers should be able to fight 6 of them separately over the course of one day. They were pretty dang outclassed once it got up to Ancient though xD

I am in a campaign where we are all level 18. Mind you our party consists of mostly spell casters with 3 Sorcerers (Myself included though I have a 2 level dip in cleric) a Cleric, a Monk/Eldritch Knight and a straight fighter This last session we fought against an adult dragon mid air cause most of us could fly and did fairly well. I think the dragonborn casting disintegrate made it an easy fight but the real kicker was when we finally killed the thing and the fighter was like we should bring it back to life so I can keep it as a pet and everyone's like nah, let's harvest it's organs. Anywho, the cleric asks if anyone has spare the dying, I respond I do, and he proceeds to bargain with the DM asking if we could keep the dragon alive with it while we harvest it's organs. The DM allows its and upon everyone getting what they want the cleric casts regenerate and sends the The Air Genasi in to do the talking, casting Silence everyone else. The Air Genasi tells the dragon we hacked off it's limbs and shit and only brought back to life so we can keep it as a pet. Needless to say the dragon didn't like that and we had to kill it again. We got to harvest it's organs again so there's that... Only downside is this took 16 hours and now we are in the underdark.

... so your party is one of those horror stories where you wake up in a tub of ice with a missing kidney.

@@draochvar9646 No, it goes Wyrmling -> Young -> Adult -> Ancient -> Great Wyrm Technically a Great Wyrm is an ancient dragon. But they're so vastly different in power that the distinction can and should be made.
