Thumb studs are for blade re enforcement and stabilization. Not for opening of the knife at all. CRKT told me, it did w make sense to me either! Very cool knife. LOVE mine...
Hey Gear, loved the video! Just a couple of things I noticed...you uh, misspelled tanto. Also those thumbstuds actually function as the blade-stop pin since that whole dual flipper doesn't leave much room for a normal one, pretty clever if you ask me!
Wil H Tanto tonto... I am still human and make mistakes a plenty! lol I appreciate you watching the video anyways. I am aware that the "thumb" studs are the blade stops, I just don't think they work well in that role. Why not make them smooth or design the stop pin different?
Gearaholic Yeah, maybe angle them like the Kershaw Blur, or cut out some scallops to make them more accessible to the thumb. Who knows, could be a fun modding project.
