This is an Awesome generation of Portugal players, simply outstanding at every position.. great Figo and Brilliant artist Rui Costa [better than zidane in every way] plus, one huge factor in that teams awesomeness is Coutos Magnificent head of hair!!!
@@jakeansell5408 In some aspects. Overall I wouldn't say better, but ALSO not inferiror. Zidane just played for Real Madrid and won a WC. You're gonna see in a few years.......KDB is gonna get the Zidane treatment.......treated like no player in his position gets close. Meanwhile a league-less Bruno Fernadnes, or a numberless Bernardo Silva.....are gonna be treated as VASTLY inferior. Just like Pele and Maradona are remembered, and Garrincha and others are totally forgotten.
Actually, there were at least two players named *Joao Pinto* in Portuguese football during the 1990s. The older one was an attacking fullback in the Roberto Carlos/Dani Alves mould who spent his entire´professional career of 16 years (1981-1997) with FC Porto and was part of the team that defeated Bayern Munich in the Champions League final of 1987 in Vienna. He was a short, stockily built and ultra-fast player who, in his later years, was so square-built that the sight of him inevitably made one think of a butcher. The other, far more illustrious player of that name was, in almost all respects, the exact opposite of his older namesake, the only thing they had in common being the fact that both were rather short. A member of Portugal`s "Golden Generation", the younger Joao Pinto was everything the older one wasn`t: a technically gifted offensive allrounder who for some strange reason spent the entirity of his club career in Portugal, at a time when Portuguese footballing talent was in high demand among European top clubs (Pinto`s former Benfica teammate Paulo Sousa won the UEFA Champions League twice in two consecutive seasons - first with Juventus Turin in 1996, then with Borussia Dortmund in 1997).
Me gustaría saber si existe alguna página en internet, para ver partidos de fútbol de cualquier época. Hubo un tiempo que existía una página y luego desapareció
Ah yes, Portugal at Euro 96. Love the memory of the Poborsky goal kicking them out of the tournament. (Not because I have anything against that great Portuguese team, but I support the Czech team.)
