Hello! Thank you so much for this tutorial :) I am still learning how to crochet and I am wondering how exactly to go about adding the sc border, particularly on the shorter, raw sides of the rectangle? And how to deal with the corners? Thank you again!

HI! Welcome and this is a great question. I have a video showing you how to add a single crochet border on a blanket (but it works for any rectangle or square shape. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fQW_hGyytqI.html You will basically crochet into the sides of the rows, and in each corner you add a sc, ch 1, sc all in the same spot and keep going. The video shows you how to do it.

Is every hdc in 3rd ch every time it’s done? ~ I’m new to crocheting

Hi! Thanks for asking and welcome to crochet! If you're referring to step 2: "Half double crochet in 3rd chain and in each ch across" the answer is no. You work the first hdc in the 3rd chain. Then the next hdc goes in the chain right next to it, and the next hdc in the next chain. Here is a video of how to work a row of hdc. Hi, yes if you ch 25 that’s the small size, ch 31 for the larger size. Here are the dimensions: Smallest size= 8” x 3” fits a 9” travel to-go cup; with the border + button loop fits a 11” coffee mug. Largest size= 9.75 ” x 3” fits an oversized 14” coffee mug. If you need to do a custom fit: Stitch multiple is 2 + 1, plus 2 for the starting chain.
